DeWalt Black Friday Combo Kits: What Is in Each Box

Plumbing Picks is reader-supported. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you.

Quick answer from a licensed plumber: For most plumbers, the DeWalt DCK250QQ2: a brushless hammer drill that DeWalt’s manual rates for a 3-inch hole saw in wood, a 3-speed impact driver and two 4Ah batteries. For a first kit or a gift for light work, the compact DCK240C2. For cut-out work, the DCK751P1 adds a reciprocating saw and an oscillating tool, with one battery. We list no Black Friday prices; this page decodes what is in each box.

Our pick for most plumbers: the DeWalt DCK250QQ2 20V MAX XR hammer drill and impact driver kit. Check the DeWalt DCK250QQ2 on Amazon

Black Friday is Friday, November 27, and Cyber Monday is November 30. Prices and holiday bundles can change by the hour, so this page lists none. What does not change is what is in the box: how many batteries and what size, the charger, brushed or brushless motors, and how big a hole the drill is rated to bore. That is what this page compares, for three DeWalt kits sold by Amazon.com when we checked. Every spec comes from DeWalt’s own pages and manuals.

Figures from DeWalt’s kit pages, tool pages and the DCD806, DCD771 and DCD777 manuals. Each linked kit was sold by Amazon.com and in stock on October 5, 2026. The DCD771 and DCD777 manuals give one wood figure without naming the bit; the DCD806 manual lists wood by bit type, from 1 inch for a twist bit to 3 inches for a hole saw, so the wood figures are not like-for-like.

How to Check a DeWalt Black Friday Listing

A DeWalt kit number tells you a lot, and the listing’s include list tells you the rest. Check these on any Black Friday listing before you check out:

  • Battery count. In the three kits on this page, the last digit of the model number matches the battery count: DCK240C2 and DCK250QQ2 come with two, DCK751P1 with one (our reading of these kits, not a DeWalt rule). Read the include list to be sure.
  • DeWalt’s own pages do not always agree. The DCK240C2 kit name, overview and include list say 1.3Ah batteries; its spec table says 1.5Ah. DeWalt’s DCK540D1 5-tool kit page lists one 2.0Ah battery, while its Amazon listing title says 5Ah. DeWalt’s DCK2112QQ2 page describes a DCF860 impact driver in its features and lists a DCF845 in its include list, and the Amazon listing describes the DCF845. We did not link the DCK540D1 or the DCK2112QQ2 for that reason.
  • Brushed or brushless. DeWalt’s spec tables list the DCK240C2 as brushed and the DCK250QQ2 as brushless. The DCK751P1 page has no motor field; its include list names a brushless impact driver, oscillating tool and sander, and the DCD777 manual calls its drill brushless.
  • Kit or tool only. The DCD806B is the bare-tool version of the hammer drill in the DCK250QQ2, and DeWalt’s page for it says the battery and charger are sold separately. A kit includes them.
  • Hole size. If the drill will bore studs and joists, check the manual’s capacity table: the DCD806 manual lists up to a 3-inch hole saw in wood, and the DCD771 and DCD777 manuals list 1 inch.
  • Who sells it. Every kit linked here was sold by Amazon.com when we checked. If a holiday listing shows another seller, read its include list against DeWalt’s before you buy.
Best for Plumbers

DeWalt DCK250QQ2 20V MAX XR Hammer Drill and Impact Driver Combo Kit

DCD806 brushless 1/2 in. hammer drill, 2 speeds (0-650 / 0-2,000 RPM) · DCF845 brushless 1/4 in. 3-speed impact driver (1,825 in-lbs, 3,400 RPM) · (2) DCB2104 20V MAX XR POWERPACK 4Ah batteries · charger · 2 belt hooks · contractor bag

This is the DeWalt kit I would point a plumber to. The drill is a hammer drill, and DeWalt’s manual rates it in wood for up to a 3-inch hole saw and a 2-9/16-inch self-feed bit, and in metal for up to a 1-1/2-inch hole saw. The compact drills in the other two kits on this page are rated for 1 inch in wood. DeWalt calls the DCD806 its most powerful 20V MAX 2-speed hammer drill, and it has DeWalt’s ANTI-ROTATION system, which DeWalt says senses the tool’s rotational motion and shuts it down if the motion is excessive. That is the moment a big bit binds in a stud.

The impact driver is the 3-speed DCF845, which DeWalt rates at 1,825 in-lbs of torque and 3,400 RPM. Both tools are brushless, and the kit comes with two 4Ah POWERPACK batteries, which DeWalt calls part of its best performing 20V MAX line. Hammer mode is for anchor holes: the manual’s maximum recommended masonry capacity is a 1/4-inch carbide bit.

  • Hammer drill rated for a 3 in. hole saw and 2-9/16 in. self-feed bit in wood, per the manual
  • ANTI-ROTATION shutdown on the drill, per DeWalt
  • Two 4Ah POWERPACK batteries
  • Brushless drill and 3-speed impact driver
  • Masonry rating is a 1/4 in. carbide bit, per the manual
  • DeWalt’s kit page lists the charger without a model number
  • Heavier than the compact DCK240C2: 10.67 lb vs 8.75 lb, per DeWalt’s listed kit weights

Verdict: The kit to buy if the drill will bore holes through framing as well as drive screws.

Best Starter Kit

DeWalt DCK240C2 20V MAX Compact Drill/Driver and Impact Driver Combo Kit

DCD771 1/2 in. drill/driver, 2 speeds (0-450 / 0-1,500 RPM), 300 unit watts out · DCF885 1/4 in. impact driver, 5.55 in. front to back, 2.8 lb · (2) 20V MAX batteries · charger · contractor bag · brushed motors (DeWalt spec table)

This is the small, light kit for a first DeWalt set: a new homeowner, an apprentice, or a plumber who wants a second drill for trim-out. DeWalt lists the DCD771 drill/driver with two speeds and 300 unit watts out, and the DCF885 impact driver at 5.55 inches front to back and 2.8 pounds. The impact driver has a 3-LED light ring and a one-handed 1/4-inch hex chuck that takes 1-inch bit tips, per DeWalt.

Know its limit before you buy it for rough-in. DeWalt’s DCD771 manual lists a maximum recommended capacity of 1 inch in wood and 1/2 inch in steel, and gives no hole-saw figure, so do not buy it to run hole saws through framing. DeWalt’s spec table lists brushed motors. The battery size is not consistent on DeWalt’s own page: the kit name, overview and include list say two 1.3Ah batteries, and the spec table says 1.5Ah. Either way, they are small packs.

  • Compact: the impact driver is 5.55 in. front to back, per DeWalt
  • Two batteries, a charger and a bag in the box
  • 3-year limited warranty, per DeWalt
  • Batteries fit DeWalt’s 20V MAX tools
  • Drill rated to 1 in. in wood, per the manual: not for hole saws through framing
  • Brushed motors, per DeWalt’s spec table
  • DeWalt’s page says 1.3Ah batteries in its kit name and include list but 1.5Ah in its spec table

Verdict: A good first kit or gift for light work, not a rough-in drill.

Most Tools in One Box

DeWalt DCK751P1 20V MAX 7-Tool Combo Kit

DCD777 brushless 1/2 in. compact drill/driver (per its manual) · DCF787 brushless 1/4 in. impact driver · DCS387 compact reciprocating saw · DCS356 brushless 3-speed oscillating multi-tool · DCS391 6-1/2 in. circular saw · DCS334 jig saw · DCW210 brushless 5 in. random orbit sander · (1) DCB205 5Ah battery · DCB1102 2 amp charger

For a plumber, the two tools that matter in this box are the reciprocating saw and the oscillating multi-tool. DeWalt’s feature list gives the DCS387 compact reciprocating saw a 14-inch total length to fit between studs (its spec table says 14.56 inches), with a 4-position blade clamp for flush cutting, a 1-1/8-inch stroke and 0 to 2,900 strokes per minute. The DCS356 oscillating tool has a 3-speed selector, per DeWalt.

The other five tools are a drill/driver, an impact driver, a circular saw, a jig saw and a random orbit sander, which suit remodel and carpentry work more than plumbing. The catch is power: DeWalt lists one 5Ah battery and a 2 amp charger for seven tools. The DCD777 drill is rated to 1 inch in wood, per its manual, so this is not the kit for boring framing.

  • Includes a compact reciprocating saw and a 3-speed oscillating multi-tool
  • Compact reciprocating saw designed to fit between studs, per DeWalt
  • Brushless drill, impact driver, oscillating tool and sander, per DeWalt
  • A 5Ah battery
  • One battery for seven tools
  • Drill rated to 1 in. in wood, per the manual
  • Circular saw, jig saw and sander are carpentry tools

Verdict: Buy it for remodel and cut-out work; add a second battery if two people will use it.

Add Plumbing Tools on the Same Batteries

A combo kit gets you the batteries and the charger. The plumbing tools can come after, as bare tools on the same 20V MAX batteries. Our guides cover several: the DeWalt DCD446B stud and joist drill in our right angle drill guide, the DeWalt DCE050 in our water transfer pump guide, the DeWalt DCE410 in our PEX expansion tool guide, and the DeWalt DCE154B copper tubing cutter in our gifts for plumbers list.

Buying a DeWalt Kit as a Gift

  1. Find out their batteries first. If they already run DeWalt 20V MAX, a kit adds batteries and tools they can share. If they run another brand, a DeWalt kit starts a second platform.
  2. Match the drill to the work. Rough-in plumbing and electrical work means boring framing: the DCK250QQ2. Shelves, fixtures and furniture: the DCK240C2.
  3. Count the batteries. Two batteries let one charge while the other works. The 7-tool kit has one.
  4. Read the include list on the listing against the model number, especially for holiday bundles.

What About Milwaukee?

I carry DeWalt and Milwaukee tools on my jobs. We do not link Milwaukee combo kits, because the Amazon listings we found for M18 and M12 combo kits on October 4 were from third-party sellers. If the person you are buying for runs Milwaukee batteries, buy from a dealer you trust and read Milwaukee’s own specs.

Safety: Drilling Holes in Framing

DeWalt’s DCD806 manual warns that the drill may stall if overloaded, causing a sudden twist, and says to always expect the stall and grip the drill firmly. If it stalls, release the trigger right away, take the bit out of the work and find the cause, and do not pull the trigger on and off to restart a stalled drill. Ease off as the bit breaks through. Hold the tool by its insulated gripping surfaces where the bit may hit hidden wiring, and wear ear protection in hammer mode. Use carbide-tipped bits rated for percussion drilling in masonry.

FAQ

Is DeWalt 20V MAX really 20 volts?

DeWalt’s own footnote says the maximum initial battery voltage, measured without a workload, is 20 volts, and the nominal voltage is 18. So it is an 18-volt nominal battery, per DeWalt.

Which DeWalt combo kit can drill holes for drain pipe?

Of the kits here, the DCK250QQ2. DeWalt’s manual rates its DCD806 hammer drill for up to a 3-inch hole saw and a 2-9/16-inch self-feed bit in wood. The DCD771 and DCD777 drills in the other two kits are rated for 1 inch in wood. For big bits between joists, see our right angle drill guide.

What does tool only mean on a DeWalt listing?

It means no battery and no charger. DeWalt’s tool-only pages, such as the DCD806B hammer drill, say the battery and charger are sold separately. A combo kit includes them, and the include list says how many.

Will the batteries from these kits fit other DeWalt tools?

They fit DeWalt’s 20V MAX tools. DeWalt’s DCS387 reciprocating saw page, for example, says the saw is compatible with all 20V MAX batteries and chargers. Check the voltage on any tool before you buy it to share a battery.

Why does this page show no Black Friday prices?

Prices and holiday bundles can change by the hour that week, and we cannot keep them current. This page covers what is in each box, which does not change. Amazon shows the price when you open a listing.
