For the lower raised handle, start with the Delta Collins 340-DST if your sink has three holes on 8-inch centers. Choose the Collins 4140-DST if you want a pull-out wand or a one-hole installation and have more height available. These two chrome models solve different mounting needs; measure the complete installation before choosing either.

For taller spouts and other faucet styles, see our best kitchen faucet guide. This shortlist focuses on limited space above the sink, an opening window and the moving handle.
Two low-profile faucets, different sink layouts
All vertical figures below start at the mounting surface shown in Delta’s drawing. The raised-handle measurement is the useful starting point for an obstruction above the faucet. On a phone, swipe the table; with a keyboard, focus the table region and use the arrow keys.

Dimensions and configurations: Delta 4140-DST specification (PDF) and the 340-DST drawing in Delta Collins 140/340/440 specification (PDF). The latter family sheet also covers 140-DST, 440-DST and lower-flow WE variants; they are not the chrome 340-DST linked here. Dimensions are maker references, not a promise of installed clearance.
Measure the whole operating space
- Height above the mounting surface. Measure to the lowest cabinet, shelf, sill or other obstruction. Check the raised handle, the wand at rest and the hand space needed to operate it. For the 4140-DST, decide whether you will use its plate before measuring: the drawing changes by ½ inch.
- Window and handle paths. An opening sash can hit a faucet that looks low enough while the window is shut. Trace the sash’s complete path and the handle’s hot/cold and on/off travel. Neither is specified as a folding faucet. A height figure does not establish that a projecting sill or an inward-opening window will clear.
- Holes and deck thickness. Count actual holes, measure their center spacing and inspect underneath. In these three-hole drawings, the outer hole centers are 8 inches apart. The 340-DST uses its three-hole arrangement; its side spray does not convert it into a one-hole faucet. Check how you will close or use any unused fourth hole. Compare the clamping thickness with the 2½-inch limit, including the actual mounting arrangement.
- Outlet position and washing space. Compare the drawing reach with the bowl, drain and divider. The 340-DST’s lower outlet leaves less vertical space above the deck for objects under its fixed stream. Check your sink depth and largest pot; the side sprayer is a different way to rinse, not extra room under that spout.
- Cabinet hose travel and supplies. Reserve a clear path around the disposal, filter housings and shutoff valves. The 4140-DST manual shows a hose weight; it needs room to move. Confirm that both supply stops suit the specified 3/8-inch compression connections. Follow the exact manual’s connection, flushing and leak-check steps rather than a universal tightening rule.

PULL-OUT WAND · ONE OR THREE HOLES
Delta Collins 4140-DST: pull-out flexibility
Choose it when you want the spray in the main wand and can accommodate the raised handle. The one-hole configuration avoids a long deck plate. Delta includes the optional plate for three-hole, 8-inch mounting, but that configuration raises the operating-height reference to 10⅜ inches.
The wand switches between aerated stream and spray, and the spout swivels 120°. MagnaTite is Delta’s magnetic docking feature; we have not tested its long-term retention. Both exact non-WE models in this guide are rated at a maximum 1.8 gpm at 60 psi. That rating does not establish identical spray feel or splash performance.
Box and cabinet checks: the exact chrome 4140-DST listing and Delta sheet identify integrated supply tubes and the optional deck plate. Follow the manual for the hose, weight and connection clip, then check unobstructed movement through the cabinet. A hose’s total length is not the amount you can pull out above the sink. Sources: Delta 4140-DST specification (PDF); Delta 4140-DST installation manual (PDF).
Skip it if an obstruction crosses the raised-handle or window path, the required rear clearance fails, or a filter/disposal prevents the hose from moving. A one-hole sink solves the mounting question only. The 340-DST is worth comparing for lower operating height if its three-hole layout fits your sink.
LOWER RAISED HANDLE · THREE HOLES
Delta Collins 340-DST: lower handle, side spray
Choose it when the 8¾-inch raised-handle reference and three-hole mounting arrangement suit the space. Its main spout swivels but does not pull out; the separate side sprayer provides the hose. The spray holder is part of the plate, so this exact model does not need a fourth sprayer hole.
The spout swivels 180°, and the maker drawing marks a 5 7/32-inch outlet height. Check that lower outlet against the items you put under the stream. The 9 3/16-inch drawing reach may land differently in a small bowl or over a divider; check the actual layout.
Box and variant checks: the chrome 340-DST includes the side sprayer, plate and integrated supply lines. The family sheet’s 440-DST has a separate sprayer-hole arrangement, and its WE models have a different flow rating. Do not buy by the family drawing heading alone. Sources: Delta 340-DST product page; Delta Collins 140/340/440 specification (PDF); Delta 340-DST family installation manual (PDF).
Skip it for a one-hole-only sink, a backsplash closer than the required centerline clearance, or washing tasks that need more room beneath a fixed stream. If the 8¾-inch dimension is close to your available gap, have Delta confirm the exact unit and handle travel before ordering.
When neither faucet is the right purchase
A portable dishwasher connection rules out both. Each linked installation manual expressly prohibits using the faucet with a portable dishwasher. An aerator adapter does not establish compatibility.
If your measured gap is below the required raised-handle height, a sill occupies the rear clearance, or you need the faucet to fold out of a window’s path, keep looking. Neither model provides a verified solution for those conditions. A functioning faucet may also need only the correct repair part; use our faucet cartridge guide to identify the exact valve before deciding to replace the whole fixture.
Warranty is conditional. The manuals describe parts/finish coverage for eligible original homeowners buying from authorized sellers, with different commercial terms. Their printed warranty applies to faucets manufactured after January 1, 2019 and installed in the United States, Canada or Mexico. They exclude installation, removal and repair labor. Keep the model number and receipt, and confirm the terms for the actual seller, unit and application; a lifetime label does not promise a free plumber. See the warranty section on page 12 of Delta 4140-DST installation manual (PDF) or Delta 340-DST family installation manual (PDF).
Low-profile kitchen faucet FAQ
Which low-profile kitchen faucet needs less height?
Of these two chrome Delta models, the Collins 340-DST has the lower raised-handle dimension: 8¾ inches above the mounting surface in its drawing. It needs three holes on 8-inch centers. The pull-out 4140-DST drawing shows 9⅞ inches without its deck plate or 10⅜ inches with it. Check the exact faucet and full handle travel before buying for a tight gap.
Can the Delta 4140-DST fit a one-hole sink?
Yes, Delta specifies a one-hole installation without the optional deck plate. Its drawing shows a 1 5/16–1½-inch mounting hole and a 2½-inch maximum deck thickness. The included plate supports a three-hole installation on 8-inch centers, but raises the handle-height reference from 9⅞ to 10⅜ inches. Check the actual sink and supplied parts.
Does the 340-DST side sprayer need a fourth hole?
No. On the exact 340-DST, the side sprayer is integrated into the three-hole deck-plate arrangement shown by Delta. The three holes are on 8-inch centers. The family sheet also shows 140-DST and 440-DST configurations; their hole arrangements should not be substituted for the linked 340-DST.
How much backsplash clearance do these faucets need?
Both Delta drawings specify at least 2½ inches from the faucet mounting centerline to the backsplash. Check the rear handle path and any protruding sill or trim as well. A low spout does not remove that requirement, and the drawing does not guarantee clearance for every window opening.
Can I connect a portable dishwasher to either faucet?
No. The installation manuals linked for both the 4140-DST and the 340-DST expressly say these faucets are not to be used with portable dishwashers. Choose a faucet whose maker permits your dishwasher connection rather than buying an adapter for either of these.
Will a low-profile faucet stop splashing?
Height alone does not guarantee that. Check where the outlet lands in your sink, the depth of the bowl and the objects you usually wash. A lower outlet also reduces room beneath the fixed stream. These are document-based fit recommendations; we have not measured splash performance for either faucet.
How we chose this shortlist
This is a document-based fit comparison. We checked the current maker drawings and installation instructions against the exact linked chrome models, then compared handle height, holes, spray layout, supplies and cabinet access. These are two Delta configurations that passed our listing check, rather than a claim that every brand or finish was compared.
Sources and the linked listings were read October 7, 2026. The new offers were sold by Amazon.com and orderable at that check; sellers, availability and package contents can change. Delta’s own store availability is a separate stock signal. Verify the exact model, seller and box contents before ordering. We do not publish a price or claim hands-on installation, splash or durability results. More about our selection method and Plumbing Picks.
