Get the Elkay Crosstown EFRU311610TC (10.0): 16 gauge steel, a 10 in. deep bowl, and a grid and drain in the box. Want the drain off to one side? The ECTRU30179RTC (8.8) puts it rear right. For a shallower 8 in. bowl, get the EFRU2816TC (8.8).

These are Elkay single-bowl undermount stainless steel kitchen sinks, each sold as a kit with a bottom grid and drain. Scored on the same eight checks from Elkay’s spec sheets, read Oct 24, 2026. I’ve used these picks.

Will your biggest pan lie flat in the bowl?
Measure the longest pan, tray or rack you wash, length and width, handles included. The checker compares it with each bowl’s size from Elkay’s sheets.
The default is a 21 × 15 in. pan, handles included; put in your own. Four of the five bowls are 30 in. or longer, and the EFRU2816TC is 28 in. The front-to-back size is 16 or 17 in. on all five.
My call: measure the pan you struggle with now, not a catalog size. A pan that lies flat is easier to soak and scrub than one propped on an angle.
PlumbingPicks spec score out of 10, from Elkay’s spec sheets and warranty, read Oct 24, 2026. It is not a customer rating or our own test.
You want the deepest bowl Elkay offers in this group and a 36 in. sink base.

Your sink base is smaller than 36 in.
The EFRU311610TC is my top pick, and I’ve used it. It passed all eight checks for a 10.0. It’s the only pick with both 16 gauge steel and a bowl deeper than 9 in.
Elkay’s sheet describes it as handmade from 16 gauge 304 stainless steel with a Polished Satin finish. The sink is 32-1/2 × 18 × 10 in., and the bowl is 30-1/2 × 16 × 10 in. The drain opening is 3-1/2 in., at the rear center.
Sound deadening is listed as full spray on the sides and bottom plus side and bottom pads. Mounting hardware, part 54300008, is listed as included, and the cutout template is number 1000001310, also downloadable from Elkay as a CAD file.
The TC on the end means a kit. The sheet lists a CTXBG2914 bottom grid and an LKDD deep strainer drain in the box. The same sink without them is the EFRU311610T, which scores 8.8 on our checks because it lacks the grid and drain.
Elkay lists a 36 in. minimum cabinet. The sheet names ASME A112.19.3/CSA B45.4 for the sink and ASME A112.18.2/CSA B125.2 for the accessory, and says the sinks are listed by IAPMO.
One note on the sheet: it calls this a Reserve Selection product, sold exclusively through authorized wholesalers, in-store and online. Elkay’s stainless sink warranty text doesn’t mention where you bought it; it asks for a dated proof of purchase. My call: keep the receipt.
The included CTXBG2914 grid measures 28-7/8 × 14-3/8 × 1-1/4 in. on the sheet. Elkay lists one optional accessory for this sink, an LKCBF2816HW hardwood cutting board, 27-1/2 × 16-7/8 × 1 in.
Elkay’s undermount install sheet says the template in the carton offers a 1/2 in. reveal or a 1/8 in. no-reveal outline, so tell your fabricator which edge you want.

You have a 39 in. or wider sink base and want the longest bowl.
Skip it if
Your sink base is 36 in.; the 30 in. bowls fit it.
The ECTRU35179TC scored 8.8, and I’ve used it. It missed one check: it’s 18 gauge steel. It ties two other picks at 8.8 and leads them on our tie rule, since its 9 in. bowl matches the ECTRU30179RTC’s depth and runs 5 in. longer.
Elkay’s sheet lists 18 gauge 304 stainless, handmade or fabricated, with a Polished Satin finish. The sink is 36-1/2 × 18-1/2 × 9 in., and the bowl is 35 × 17 × 9 in., the longest bowl of the five. The 3-1/2 in. drain is at the rear center.
Sound deadening is the full spray on the sides and bottom with side and bottom pads. Mounting hardware 54300008 is listed as included, and the cutout template is 1000003456.
The kit includes a CTXBG3416 bottom grid, 33-1/2 × 15-1/2 × 1-1/4 in., and an LKDD 3-1/2 in. drain fitting with a deep strainer basket. Optional accessories on the sheet are the LKCBF17HW hardwood cutting board and three Elkay Everyday faucets: LK3000CR, LK3001CR and LK5000.
Elkay lists a 39 in. minimum cabinet, the only pick that needs more than 36 in. It has the same ASME A112.19.3/CSA B45.4 listing and IAPMO listing as the other Crosstown kits, and no Reserve Selection note.
The optional LKCBF17HW cutting board is 18 × 9-3/4 × 3/4 in., about half the bowl’s length. My call: run your biggest pan or rack through the pan-fit tool above, since the 17 in. front-to-back size limits wide pans as much as the length helps long ones.
This listing is sold by a third party on Amazon; its model number matches Elkay’s ECTRU35179TC. Elkay’s warranty asks for a dated proof of purchase, so keep the receipt.
The ECTRU30179RTC scored 8.8, and I’ve used it. It missed one check: it’s 18 gauge steel. It ties the ECTRU35179TC and the EFRU2816TC. On our tie rule it sits behind the ECTRU35179TC, which has the same 9 in. depth and a longer bowl, and ahead of the 8 in. EFRU2816TC.
Elkay’s sheet lists 18 gauge 304 stainless with a Polished Satin finish. The sink is 31-1/2 × 18-1/2 × 9 in., and the bowl is 30 × 17 × 9 in., tied with the ECTRU35179TC and the Iconix for widest front to back, 17 in. The 3-1/2 in. drain sits at the rear right.
My call: a rear right drain moves the tailpiece and trap toward one side of the cabinet, so check where your trap arm comes out of the wall before you pick this one.
It has the same full spray coating with side and bottom pads as the other Crosstown sinks, mounting hardware 54300008 listed as included, and cutout template 1000001381. The kit adds a custom fit bottom grid and a deep strainer drain.
The sink-only version is the ECTRU30179RT, which scores 7.5 without the grid and drain. Its sheet gives a drop-in cutout of 29-3/4 × 16-3/4 in. with a 7/16 in. corner radius.
Elkay lists a 36 in. minimum cabinet and the same ASME A112.19.3/CSA B45.4 listing. Unlike the two 16 gauge Crosstown kits, this sheet carries no Reserve Selection note.
The accessory list on the sheet names the grid as CTXBG2815, 28-1/2 × 15-1/2 × 1-1/4 in., and an optional LKCBF17HW hardwood cutting board, 18 × 9-3/4 × 3/4 in. It also lists four Elkay Everyday faucets, LK3000CR, LK3001CR, LK5000 and LK6000, as optional matches.
The listing’s model number matches the kit, which Elkay names a sink kit on the sheet’s title line.
You want 16 gauge steel and a shallower bowl you don’t have to bend into.
Skip it if
You wash big stock pots; the 10 in. EFRU311610TC holds more.
The EFRU2816TC scored 8.8, and I’ve used it. It missed one check: its bowl is 8 in. deep, under our 9 in. line. It ties the ECTRU35179TC and ECTRU30179RTC and sits behind both on the tie rule because it’s shallower.
Elkay’s sheet lists 16 gauge 304 stainless with a Polished Satin finish. The sink is 30-1/2 × 18-1/2 × 8 in., and the bowl is 28 × 16 × 8 in. The 3-1/2 in. drain is at the rear center.
Sound deadening is full spray on the sides and bottom with side and bottom pads. Mounting hardware 54300008 is listed as included, and the cutout template is 1000001302.
The kit adds a CTXBG2614 bottom grid and an LKDD deep strainer drain. The sink-only EFRU2816T scores 7.5 without them.
My call: a shallower bowl is easier on your back if you’re on the short side, at the cost of more splash when you run the faucet hard. That’s a trade only you can weigh.
Elkay lists a 36 in. minimum cabinet, even though the sink is the smallest of the five. Like the EFRU311610TC, this sheet calls it a Reserve Selection product sold through authorized wholesalers.
The included CTXBG2614 grid is 26-3/8 × 14-3/8 × 1-1/4 in., the smallest grid here, sized for the 28 in. bowl. Elkay’s care sheet recommends a bottom grid or rinsing basket to protect the sink. The optional cutting board is the same LKCBF2816HW hardwood board listed for the EFRU311610TC, 27-1/2 × 16-7/8 × 1 in.
The sink lists the same ASME A112.19.3/CSA B45.4 listing and IAPMO listing as the other Crosstown kits, and its accessory is listed to ASME A112.18.2/CSA B125.2.
The listing’s model number matches the kit.
Best for a welded Perfect Drain
Lustertone Iconix
Elkay Lustertone Iconix 16 gauge single bowl undermount sink kit with Perfect Drain, ELUHH3017TPDBG
You want a drain with no gap between the strainer and the sink.
Skip it if
You want brackets and spray coating in the box; the Crosstown kits have both.
The Lustertone Iconix scored 7.5, and I’ve used it. It missed two checks: its sound deadening is pads only, with no spray coating, and its undermount brackets are sold separately.
Elkay’s sheet lists 16 gauge 304 stainless with a Luminous Satin finish. The sink is 32-1/2 × 19-1/2 × 10-9/16 in. overall, and the bowl is 30 × 17 × 9 in. The drain is 3-3/8 in., at the rear center.
Its feature is Perfect Drain: Elkay says a stainless steel collar, welded to the sink, removes the gap between a traditional drain and the sink, for a more sanitary, gap-free installation. Elkay also says select garbage disposers fit it, and points to its disposer compatibility guide.
The kit includes an EBG2815 bottom grid, 28-1/4 × 15-1/4 × 1-1/4 in., and an LKPD1 Perfect Drain fitting, which the sheet describes as a Type 304 stainless steel body and strainer. The cutout template is 1000005608.
The sink stands 10-9/16 in. overall against a 9 in. bowl, the tallest body of the five, so, my call, check the space above your cabinet’s top drawer or false front. The overall size is 32-1/2 × 19-1/2 in., the deepest front to back here.
Elkay lists a 36 in. minimum cabinet and the same ASME A112.19.3/CSA B45.4 listing. The sheet calls it a Reserve Selection product sold through authorized wholesalers.
Its sheet says the sink is manufactured from 16 gauge steel, where the Crosstown sheets say handmade or fabricated. The finish is Luminous Satin, against the Crosstown’s Polished Satin; Elkay’s stainless care sheet gives one set of rules for its stainless sinks.
My call: check your disposer model against Elkay’s guide before you buy this one, since the welded collar sets what can mount to it.
All five are 304 stainless, single bowl, undermount, with the drain at the back of the bowl, and all five come with a bottom grid and a drain. Four list a 36 in. minimum cabinet; the ECTRU35179TC needs 39 in.
The differences are gauge, bowl depth and drain position. The Iconix also differs in its welded Perfect Drain and its pads-only sound deadening.
Elkay sells the same Crosstown body two ways. The model without the C is the sink alone; the sheet lists the matching grid only as an accessory. The model ending in C is the kit, and its sheet lists the grid and drain as included with the product.
The sink-only versions lose one check on our score, the grid or drain in the box. My call: buy the kit if you’d buy the grid anyway, since it’s the one cut to fit that bowl.

What it means
16
EFRU311610TC, EFRU2816TC, Iconix
Thicker sheet steel
18

Thinner sheet steel
Gauge is a sheet thickness number, and a lower number means thicker steel. Three picks are 16 gauge and two are 18. All five are 304 stainless, per Elkay’s sheets.
Elkay’s sheets don’t give a thickness in inches or claim a dent difference between gauges, so I don’t either. Our score gives a point for 16 gauge because it’s the thicker sheet.

Elkay uses two kinds of sound deadening on these sinks: a sprayed-on coating and stick-on pads. The Crosstown sheets list both; the Lustertone sheets list pads only.
Elkay doesn’t publish a noise number for either, so the check is simply whether the sheet lists both.

All five drains sit at the back of the bowl, and the ECTRU30179RTC puts its drain in the rear right corner. My call: a rear drain keeps the middle of the bowl clear for dishes and the grid.
A garbage disposer mounts to the drain opening. Elkay publishes a disposer compatibility guide for its Perfect Drain sinks. For the Crosstown kits, the drain is a standard 3-1/2 in. opening. My call: the drain in the kit is a strainer; if you add a disposer, you’ll use the disposer’s own flange instead. See garbage disposals.
Installing an Elkay undermount sink
1
Hire the right installer
Elkay recommends a professional, experienced installer.
2
Use solid surface only
Elkay: granite or Corian type countertops.
3
Cut from the template
Elkay: pick the reveal or no-reveal outline.
4
Set the brackets
Fasten them loosely into the pre-drilled holes.
5
Caulk and lift
Silicone on the flange, press it up to the counter.
6
Tighten evenly
Snug, check alignment, then tight. Don’t overtighten.
Elkay’s undermount install sheet says the countertop fabricator should cut the opening and the mounting holes before installation, and that the template in the carton offers a 1/2 in. reveal or a 1/8 in. no-reveal outline. It calls for silicone caulk and fasteners, neither included.
One conflict: the Crosstown spec sheets list mounting hardware part 54300008 as included, while the shared install sheet calls the mounting bracket an optional accessory, LKUCLIP8. The Iconix sheet says brackets are sold separately. Check the box before install day.
Elkay’s stainless sink warranty
What
Elkay’s terms
Sink
Limited lifetime, normal residential use, original purchaser
Waste fittings and accessories
1 year from purchase
Undermount coverage
Only when installed in a conventional solid surface countertop
Not covered
Dents and scratches from normal wear, abrasive cleaners, shipping and labor
Elkay’s Residential Stainless Sinks Limited Lifetime Warranty covers the sink for a lifetime of normal residential use, and the grid and drain for one year. It applies to undermount sinks only when they’re installed in a conventional solid surface countertop.
To claim, Elkay asks for a letter with the purchase and install dates, a copy of the dated invoice, the defect and the model number. All five picks fall under the same warranty.
Caring for an Elkay stainless sink
Do (Elkay)
Don’t (Elkay)
Clean daily with mild detergent and a soft cloth
Steel wool, steel soap pads or wire brushes
Dry the sink after each use
Cleaners with ammonia, bleach or other harsh chemicals
Use a bottom grid or rinsing basket
Dish mats, which trap soap and dirt
Run cold water when pouring boiling water
Bleach or drain cleaners stored under the sink
Elkay’s care sheet says vapor from chloride products like bleach, drain cleaners and toilet bowl cleaner stored under the sink can corrode and pit the steel. It allows soft abrasive pads like blue Scotch-Brite and warns that green ones scratch.
The bottom grid in each kit is the protection Elkay recommends. Its warranty excludes damage from abrasive cleaners and improper care, so the care sheet matters.
Different kinds: composite, drop-in or apron-front
—
The ECTRU21179T is a smaller Crosstown with a 21 × 17 × 9 in. bowl, which suits a 27 in. cabinet, per Elkay. The ELUH241610PD is a 24 in. Lustertone with Perfect Drain. Both score under our 7.0 floor on the same checks.
The ELUHAD211555 is an ADA sink with a 5-3/8 in. bowl; its sheet lists ADA and ICC A117.1, but it scores 2.5 on these checks. The two Crosstown workstation sinks have a ledge for accessories, so they’re on our workstation sink page instead.
Elkay also makes granite composite, drop-in and farmhouse sinks. They’re different kinds, so they aren’t scored here. For those, see granite composite sinks and farmhouse sinks.
