Garbage Disposal Splash Guard Replacement by Brand

Quick answer from a licensed plumber: Match the guard to the series, not just the brand. InSinkErator Evolution models take the Quiet Collar baffle, which InSinkErator says is not for Badger disposers. For Badger models, the part is a Badger baffle kit (BUK-00), which its listing says upgrades the Badger baffle to a removable one. Waste King EZ Mount units take the 1025 guard and stopper; Waste King Pro 3-Bolt units have a built-in guard that is not removable. Moen guards pull out and are dishwasher safe.

InSinkErator Evolution? The genuine Quiet Collar snaps in without tools. Not linked: on 10/3/2026 the Amazon listing was sold by a third-party seller, not by Amazon or the maker.

Which Splash Guard Fits Which Disposal

The split that trips most people up is InSinkErator’s. Its two current baffles are each marked “not for use” with the other series, so buy by series name, not by the InSinkErator logo alone. Check the label on the disposer; Waste King, for one, says its model and serial number are on “the label affixed to the bottom of your disposal.”

InSinkErator: Evolution vs Badger

Evolution. InSinkErator’s install guide says to insert the Quiet Collar “into the sink opening by pressing it into the sink until it snaps into place.” The antimicrobial version’s listing (QCB-AM) says to “pop your old baffle out, then firmly place your new baffle into the opening until you feel the locking groove engage,” and repeats “Not For Badger Model Disposals!”

Badger. InSinkErator’s Removable Sound Baffle page names no models, only the ones it is not for (Evolution and E606); it “Installs in seconds with no tools and is easily removed for cleaning.” We did not find it shipped or sold by Amazon when we checked. The Badger baffle kit that was, BUK-00, says on its listing that it “Upgrades the InSinkErator Badger disposal baffle to a more convenient removable baffle.” InSinkErator also sells a Mounting Gasket Kit with “two replacement sink gaskets” for “specific InSinkErator disposer models,” again not for Evolution or E606.

Waste King: It Depends on the Mount

Waste King lists three differences between its EZ Mount and Pro 3-Bolt Mount disposers, and the splash guard is one: “An EZ Mount disposal has a removable splash guard while a 3-Bolt Mount has a built-in splash guard.” For EZ Mount units, Waste King’s own FAQ points to the “EZ Mount Splash Guard & Stopper (item 1025).” The 1025’s Amazon listing adds Waste King Gourmet, Sinkmaster and Bone Crusher models to the fit list. On a Pro 3-Bolt unit there is no separate guard to buy. Stoppers, including batch-feed ones, are matched in our disposal stopper guide. The mount details are in our InSinkErator vs Waste King mount guide.

Moen

Moen’s guard pulls out for cleaning and is dishwasher safe, per Moen. Moen says never to pull it out “without the power being cut off first.” The Moen replacement guard was not part of our Amazon check, so there is no Moen link here. If you are changing the whole unit instead, see Moen vs InSinkErator mounts.

What to Buy

Genuine parts, matched to the table:

When to Call a Licensed Plumber

  • Water leaks at the top of the disposer where it meets the sink. That is the flange or mount, not the guard; see where a disposal leak comes from.
  • The disposer has a fixed gasket and the fix means taking it off the mount. If the disposer itself is worn out, our garbage disposal picks list each unit’s mount and cord.

FAQ

Are garbage disposal splash guards universal?

No. InSinkErator’s Evolution baffle is not for Badger disposers, its Removable Sound Baffle is not for Evolution or E606 disposers, and Waste King’s 1025 guard is for EZ Mount units.

Which splash guard fits an InSinkErator Badger?

Not the Evolution Quiet Collar, which InSinkErator says is not for Badger disposers. The BUK-00 kit’s listing says it upgrades the Badger baffle to a removable one. InSinkErator’s Removable Sound Baffle is marked not for Evolution or E606 disposers.

Can I replace the splash guard on a Waste King Pro 3-Bolt disposal?

Waste King says the Pro 3-Bolt Mount splash guard is built in and not removable. Only EZ Mount units take the removable 1025 guard.

What size is the Waste King 1025 splash guard?

Waste King lists it at 3.1 inches in diameter, made of neoprene, for EZ Mount and Whirlaway disposers.

Can a disposal splash guard go in the dishwasher?

Moen says its guard is dishwasher safe, Waste King says an EZ Mount guard can go in the dishwasher, and InSinkErator says its removable baffle can be washed by hand or in the dishwasher. Turn the power off before you remove it.

Bottom Line

InSinkErator Evolution: Quiet Collar. InSinkErator Badger: the Badger baffle, never the Quiet Collar. Waste King EZ Mount: the 1025. Waste King Pro 3-Bolt: built in, nothing to buy. Moen: pulls out for cleaning. Power off before you touch any of them.
