For a two-hole bar sink, the Moen 4903. Count the holes and measure the bowl before you buy.

Our pick for most bar sinks: the Moen Arbor 5995SRS, a pulldown bar faucet for 1 or 3 holes. Check the Moen Arbor 5995SRS on Amazon

A bar sink faucet is a smaller faucet for a wet bar, a prep sink on an island, or a second sink in a basement or outdoor kitchen. It is picked with two checks the main kitchen faucet rarely needs: how many holes the small sink has, and whether the faucet’s height and reach suit a small bowl. Every hole size, dimension and flow below comes from the maker’s own sheet or product page. For the main sink, see our best kitchen faucet guide.

How to Choose a Bar Sink Faucet

Count the holes and measure them

Bar sinks come with one, two or three holes, or none if the faucet goes through the countertop. A single-hole faucet fits one hole. Moen says the Arbor installs through 1 or 3 holes, and both Moen pulldowns take Moen’s optional 3-hole escutcheon, 141002, which the listings say is sold separately. A two-hole bar sink needs a two-handle faucet like the Moen 4903, whose inlets sit 4 in. apart on Moen’s drawing (our arithmetic). Then check the hole size: Moen calls for at least 1-1/2 in. and KRAUS at least 1-3/8 in. More on hole layouts in kitchen faucet hole size.

Match the faucet to the sink size

A bar bowl is small, so reach and height matter more than on a main sink. Reach is how far the outlet sits from the faucet’s center. Moen lists 6-9/16 in. for the Arbor, KRAUS 6-1/2 in. for the Oletto, and Moen 4-9/16 in. for the 1.5 gpm version of the 4903. Plumber’s note: measure from the center of your faucet hole to the drain. A reach close to that number puts the stream near the drain instead of on the back wall of the bowl. Then measure up. The Arbor is 14-3/8 in. tall, so check it against any shelf, cabinet or window above a wet bar.

Deck thickness

Bar faucets often mount through a stone countertop instead of a thin sink deck. Moen allows 2-1/2 in. on the Arbor and Align, and KRAUS 2-3/4 in. on the Oletto. The Moen 4903 allows only 1 in. on its 1.5 gpm version and 3/4 in. on its 2.0 gpm version. Measure the counter plus anything under it.

Hot water at a bar sink

Many wet bars have only a cold line or sit far from the water heater. Plumber’s note: every faucet here is made for hot and cold supplies, and a single-handle faucet on a cold-only line still works, but turning the handle to hot does nothing. If you want hot water at a remote bar sink, see best under-sink water heaters.

Supply connections

The Moen pulldowns come with flexible supply lines with 3/8 in. compression fittings, and KRAUS builds in 30 in. nylon lines with 3/8 in. compression ends. The Moen 4903 has 1/2 in. NPT inlet shanks that Moen says accept 3/8 in. ball nose connections, so plan on a pair of supply lines; Moen’s sheet does not list them as included. Lines are covered in best braided faucet supply lines.

Top Pick: Pulldown Bar Faucet

Moen Arbor 5995SRS Pulldown Bar Faucet

Single handle, pulldown · 1 or 3 holes, 1-1/2 in. minimum (3-hole escutcheon 141002 sold separately) · 14-3/8 in. tall, 8-3/8 in. spout height, 6-9/16 in. reach (Moen drawing) · 2-1/2 in. max deck · 68 in. braided hose · Reflex docking · 1.5 gpm at 60 psi · 1255 Duralast cartridge · two check valves · 3/8 in. compression supply lines · handle on the right only · lifetime limited warranty to the original homeowner

The Arbor is the bar faucet to buy for most bar and prep sinks. Moen calls it a high arc pulldown prep/bar faucet, and it brings kitchen features to a small sink: a 68 in. braided hose, Moen’s Reflex docking, and stream or spray in the pulled-out or docked position. Moen’s sheet says it installs through 1 or 3 holes of at least 1-1/2 in. The 3-hole escutcheon, part 141002, is optional, and the Amazon listing says it is sold separately. The deck can be up to 2-1/2 in. thick. Moen’s product page lists Power Clean, which Moen says gives 50 percent more spray power than most of its pulldown and pullout faucets without it. It also notes that the spray function requires continuous button pressure.

Size is the thing to check on a bar sink. Moen’s drawing shows the faucet 14-3/8 in. tall with the spout outlet 8-3/8 in. above the deck and 6-9/16 in. of reach. Flow is limited to 1.5 gpm at 60 psi. The cartridge is Moen’s 1255 Duralast, and Moen says the backflow protection is two independent check valves. Moen’s product page lists the handle as right side only, so put the faucet where a right-hand lever clears the backsplash. The warranty is lifetime limited against leaks, drips and finish defects to the original homeowner, 10 years in a multifamily building and 5 years commercial. The SRS suffix is Moen’s Spot Resist Stainless, one of five finishes on Moen’s page.

  • Pulldown spray on a 68 in. hose, per Moen
  • One or three holes, with the escutcheon
  • 1255 cartridge is a common Moen part
  • Two check valves for backflow, per Moen
  • 3-hole escutcheon sold separately
  • 14-3/8 in. tall; check any shelf or cabinet above
  • Spray needs continuous button pressure, per Moen
  • Handle on the right only, per Moen’s page

Verdict: The bar faucet for most prep and wet bar sinks: a real pulldown spray in a smaller size, on one or three holes.

Best Simple Single-Hole Bar Faucet

KRAUS Oletto KPF-2822SFS Single-Handle Bar Faucet

Single handle, gooseneck spout, stream only · 12 in. tall, 8 in. spout height, 6-1/2 in. reach · 360° swivel · 1.8 gpm at 60 psi · 25 mm ceramic cartridge · 30 in. integrated nylon waterlines, 3/8 in. compression · 1-3/8 in. minimum hole · 2-3/4 in. max deck · handle turns 90° forward · KRAUS Limited Lifetime Warranty

The Oletto is the plain bar faucet: one handle, one gooseneck spout, no sprayer. KRAUS lists it 12 in. tall with an 8 in. spout height and 6-1/2 in. of reach, swiveling 360°. It flows 1.8 gpm at 60 psi, the most of the four picks as listed in the table; the 2.0 gpm version of the Moen 4903 would be higher. The handle turns 90° forward instead of to the side. KRAUS says that allows installation in spaces with limited backsplash clearance, which is common behind a bar sink. The waterlines are 30 in. nylon lines built in, with 3/8 in. compression ends.

For the install, KRAUS’s manual calls for a 1-3/8 in. minimum hole and a countertop up to 2-3/4 in. thick. It says to flush the faucet by running water for 30 seconds with the aerator off. Its care steps are strict: rinse with clean water, dry with a soft cloth, and do not clean with soaps, acid, polish, abrasives or harsh cleaners. The warranty covers the structure and finish while the original buyer lives in the home where it was installed, when bought from an authorized KRAUS dealer. The warranty does not say which sellers are authorized, so if that matters to you, ask KRAUS (1-800-775-0703) before you buy. It covers the cartridge for 5 years, and the sprayhead parts and supply hoses, including nylon lines, for 1 year. KRAUS’s page lists six finishes.

  • 1.8 gpm, the highest flow in the table
  • Forward-turning handle for a tight backsplash, per KRAUS
  • Single hole, 1-3/8 in. minimum, per KRAUS
  • Lifetime structure and finish warranty, per KRAUS
  • Stream only; no sprayer
  • Built-in nylon lines covered for 1 year, per KRAUS
  • Warranty requires an authorized KRAUS dealer; confirm your seller with KRAUS
  • No soaps or cleaners on the finish, per the manual

Verdict: The pick for a simple bar faucet with more flow and a handle that clears a tight backsplash.

Best Two-Handle Bar Faucet

Moen 4903 Chateau Two-Handle Bar Faucet

Two mini blade handles with hot and cold indicators · two holes, inlets 2 in. each side of the spout (4 in. apart, our arithmetic) · 10-1/2 in. tall, 7-1/8 in. spout height, 4-9/16 in. reach, 1 in. max deck (1.5 gpm version, Moen drawing) · 1.5 gpm at 60 psi · 1/2 in. NPT inlets accept 3/8 in. ball nose connections · lifetime limited warranty to the original homeowner

The 4903 is the classic two-handle bar faucet for a sink with two holes. Moen’s product page lists it as a two-hole faucet, and its drawing puts the hot and cold inlets 2 in. each side of the spout, so the holes are 4 in. apart (our arithmetic). The handles are mini blades with hot and cold color indicators, and the inlet shanks accept 3/8 in. ball nose supply connections. The 1.5 gpm version on Moen’s sheet, the one Moen’s product page describes, is 10-1/2 in. tall with the spout outlet 7-1/8 in. above the deck and 4-9/16 in. of reach. Flow is limited to 1.5 gpm at 60 psi, and the deck can be up to 1 in. thick.

Moen’s sheet shows two versions, and the numbers differ. The second version is 2.0 gpm, 8 in. tall, with a 6 in. spout height, 3-1/4 in. of reach and a 3/4 in. maximum deck. Moen’s product page lists 1.5 gpm and a 10.50 in. spout height, which matches the 1.5 gpm version’s overall height, not its spout height. The Amazon listing says 8 in. spout height and 3-1/2 in. reach. Neither matches a drawing exactly, but those numbers sit closest to the 2.0 gpm version (8 in. tall, 3-1/4 in. reach), so the faucet you receive may be that one. Both versions use the same two inlets 4 in. apart, so the hole fit does not change. Measure the faucet you receive before you set it under a shelf. The warranty is lifetime limited against leaks, drips and finish defects to the original homeowner.

  • Fits a two-hole bar sink
  • Separate hot and cold handles with color indicators
  • 1/2 in. NPT inlets take standard 3/8 in. ball nose supplies, per Moen
  • Lifetime limited warranty to the original homeowner
  • Listing’s height and reach sit closest to the 2.0 gpm version
  • Shortest reach here
  • Thin deck limit: 1 in. (1.5 gpm) or 3/4 in. (2.0 gpm version)
  • No sprayer

Verdict: The pick for a two-hole bar sink, once you confirm the height of the version you receive.

Best Modern Pulldown

Moen Align 5965BG Pulldown Bar Faucet (Brushed Gold)

Single handle, pulldown · 1 hole, 1-1/2 in. minimum (3-hole escutcheon 141002 optional) · 13-3/4 in. tall, 6-7/8 in. spout height, 6-3/4 in. reach (Moen drawing) · 2-1/2 in. max deck · Power Clean spray · 68 in. braided hose · Reflex docking · 1.5 gpm max at 60 psi · 1255 Duralast cartridge · two check valves · lifetime limited warranty to the original homeowner

The Align is the Arbor’s modern sibling, and the one to buy in brushed gold. Moen’s sheet gives it the same core parts: Reflex docking, a 68 in. braided hose, the 1255 Duralast cartridge, two check valves and 1.5 gpm at 60 psi. It adds Power Clean on the sheet itself. It is a little shorter than the Arbor at 13-3/4 in., with the spout outlet 6-7/8 in. above the deck and 6-3/4 in. of reach. It installs through 1 hole of at least 1-1/2 in., and Moen lists the 3-hole escutcheon 141002 as an option.

One point where Moen’s own documents differ: the sheet says the 360° spout gives the ability to install the handle on either side, but also says the faucet is designed for the handle on the right. Moen’s product page lists right only. Plan for a right-hand handle. The warranty matches the Arbor’s: lifetime limited to the original homeowner, 10 years multifamily and 5 years commercial.

  • Brushed gold finish with Moen’s lifetime finish warranty
  • Power Clean spray, per Moen’s sheet
  • Same 1255 cartridge as the Arbor
  • Slightly shorter than the Arbor
  • Plan for a right-hand handle (Moen’s sheet and page differ)
  • 3-hole escutcheon is an option, not included
  • 1.5 gpm
  • Does the same job as the Arbor in a different style

Verdict: The pick for a modern or gold bar faucet with the same Moen parts as the Arbor.

Before You Buy

  1. Count and measure the holes. Note how many, the diameter, and the distance between them if there are two.
  2. Measure the bowl. Measure from the faucet hole to the drain, and compare it with the reach.
  3. Measure up. Measure from the counter to any shelf, cabinet or window above the sink.
  4. Check the deck. Measure the counter or sink thickness where the faucet mounts.
  5. Check the supply. Look for hot and cold stops with 3/8 in. compression outlets, and note whether there is a hot line at all.

Installing a Bar Sink Faucet

KRAUS’s manual starts the job the way most do: turn off the hot and cold water at the angle stops and open the old faucet to release pressure before you remove it. Set the new faucet through the hole with its washers, tighten the mounting nut from below without overtightening, and connect the supply lines to the stops. KRAUS says to turn the stops on and check for leaks with the faucet still off, then remove the aerator and run water for 30 seconds to flush debris. Plumber’s note: on the Moen pulldowns, the hose loops under the sink, so keep storage clear of it. The full job is in how to install a faucet.

Plumber’s note: bar sink cabinets are small, and a basin wrench saves time on the mounting nut. If the stops will not shut off fully, replace them before the new faucet goes in; see best under-sink shut-off valves.

FAQ

What size faucet fits a bar sink?

Check three numbers on the spec sheet: height, spout height and reach. The Moen Arbor is 14-3/8 in. tall with 6-9/16 in. of reach, the KRAUS Oletto 12 in. tall with 6-1/2 in., and the 1.5 gpm Moen 4903 10-1/2 in. tall with 4-9/16 in. Measure from the faucet hole to the drain and the far wall of your bowl, and from the counter to any shelf or cabinet above, before you pick.

Can I put a bar faucet on a 3-hole sink?

Yes, with a plate. Moen says the Arbor installs through 1 or 3 holes, and both Moen pulldowns take the optional 3-hole escutcheon 141002, which is sold separately. The KRAUS Oletto is single-hole. The Moen 4903 is a two-handle faucet for two holes. Measure your holes first; our kitchen faucet hole size guide shows how.

Do I need a pulldown on a bar faucet?

Only if you rinse at that sink. A pulldown like the Moen Arbor or Align adds a spray on a 68 in. hose for rinsing glasses and produce. A plain spout like the KRAUS Oletto or Moen 4903 is fine for filling and hand washing, and KRAUS rates the Oletto at 1.8 gpm, the highest flow in the table above.

What is the difference between a bar faucet and a kitchen faucet?

Mostly size. Moen calls the Arbor and Align prep/bar faucets and says their high arc spout gives “the perfect height and reach for prep sinks.” The connections are the same 3/8 in. compression supplies a kitchen faucet uses. For a main sink, see our best kitchen faucet guide.

How do I hook up a bar faucet?

Turn off the hot and cold stops, set the faucet through the hole, tighten the mounting nut from below, and connect the supplies to the stops. KRAUS says to check for leaks with the stops on before you turn the faucet on, then flush it for 30 seconds with the aerator off. A bar sink with only a cold line can still take a single-handle faucet, but you will get cold water only. The full job is in how to install a faucet.
