Get the Swash 1400 (10.0): two nozzles, a remote and a 3-year warranty. The LE99 also scores 10.0 with a remote. The LT89 has no dryer; the SE400 holds 275 lb. All need a grounded GFCI outlet.
Top pick: Swash 1400$519.99 at AmazonPrice as of Oct 24, 2026, 5:30 AM EDT
All four are electric bidet seats with warm water and a heated seat, in elongated sizes here (Brondell also lists round models). Scored on the same seven checks from Brondell’s sheets and manuals, read Oct 24, 2026. I’ve used these picks.

Which Swash fits your toilet
Measure from the center of the seat bolt holes to the front of the bowl, and across between the two bolt holes. The finder checks Brondell’s fit charts, seat limits, controls and dryers.
Bolt spacing is the check people skip. Brondell’s SE400 sheet lists 5.5 in. between bolt holes, while the LE99 and LT89 sheets list an adjustable 5.25 to 7.45 in. and the Swash 1400 sheet lists 5.25 to 8 in. If your toilet’s bolts sit wider than 5.5 in., the SE400 is out.
Weight is the other hard limit. The SE400 sheet gives a 275 lb seat limit; the other three list 330 lb. Lid limits differ too, from 160 lb on the LE99 and LT89 to 270 lb on the 1400.
PlumbingPicks spec score out of 10, from Brondell’s spec sheets and manuals, read Oct 24, 2026. It is not a customer rating or our own test.

Two people share the toilet and you want saved settings, a remote and the longest warranty in Brondell’s set.

You want five pressure levels or a side-arm panel; the LE99 or LT89 suit you better.
The Swash 1400 is the one I’d put in first, and I’ve used it. It scored 10.0, passing all seven checks.
Brondell’s spec sheet lists dual stainless steel nozzles with seven positions each, oscillation and auto wash modes, an aerated wash spray and a wide spray option. The manual says the wide spray has three width settings, from a concentrated stream to a soft spray.
Warm water comes from what Brondell calls an instant ceramic water heater, rated at 1200 W, which is also the seat’s maximum power draw. There are four water temperature levels including off, topping out at 100°F, and three pressure levels. Supply pressure can run from 14.5 to 100 psi, and the sheet lists a maximum flow of 0.13 gallons per minute for each wash.
The remote is wireless, with a magnetic dock and mounting bracket, and it stores two user memory settings for temperature, pressure and spray width. It runs on four CR2032 coin cells, and the manual warns that a swallowed button battery can cause severe injury within 2 hours, so keep it away from children.
You also get a four-level heated seat, a warm air dryer, an LED nightlight, a gentle-close lid rated to 270 lb, an activated charcoal deodorizer with a six-month filter life, and a quick-release seat. The seat limit is 330 lb.
The warranty is the longest of the four, with a catch worth knowing. Brondell’s manual calls it a three-year residential limited warranty: 100% parts and labor coverage in year one, 75% in year two and 50% in year three. Commercial use gets one year.
One listing note: the Amazon text says a 3-temp heated seat and a 4-level dryer, while the spec sheet lists four seat levels including off and its features line says a 3-level dryer. Go by Brondell’s sheet.
Best for a remote with a dryer
Swash LE99
Brondell Swash LE99 advanced bidet toilet seat with remote, LE99-EW
870 W max330 lb seat5 positions47 in. cord1-yr warranty
Buy it if
You want a remote and a dryer with more pressure settings than the 1400, and a wide bolt-spacing range.
Skip it if
You want the longest warranty or two separate nozzles; that’s the 1400.
The LE99 matches the 1400 on every check in the score, and I’ve used it. It scored 10.0.
Its spec sheet lists a self-cleaning stainless steel nozzle with five positions, front, rear and strong wash modes, nozzle oscillation, pulse and a gentle wash preset. The manual says each wash mode has four water temperature settings and five pressure settings, two more pressure steps than the 1400.
Water temperature tops out at 102.2°F and the heated seat at 107.6°F, per the sheet. Maximum power draw is 870 W, with an 800 W water heater. Brondell lists a supply pressure range of 9.95 to 106.7 psi, the lowest starting pressure here (tied with the LT89), and rear wash flow of 0.13 to 0.21 gallons per minute.
Control is a wireless remote with a wall mount, and the manual describes two user memory buttons. The warm air dryer has five temperature levels. An eco mode lowers water and seat temperature to one of two settings, and each wash runs a default 2 minutes.
Fit is flexible. The sheet lists bolt spacing of 5.25 to 7.45 in. on adjustable brackets, a 330 lb seat limit and a 160 lb lid limit. The power cord is 47 in. and the bidet hose is 25 in., tied with the LT89 for the longest hose here.
The seat has a quick-release button, which the manual uses for removal: press it and slide the seat off the mounting plate. For long storage, Brondell says to unplug it, shut the water off, remove the seat and drain the water heater through the drain plug.
The residential warranty is one year, 100% parts and labor. One listing note: the Amazon text mentions five water temperature settings, while Brondell’s sheet lists four levels including off.
870 W max330 lb seat5 positions46.8 in. cord1-yr warranty
Buy it if
You want buttons on the seat instead of a remote, and you don’t need a dryer.
Skip it if
You want a warm air dryer; pick the SE400 for a side arm with one, or the LE99.
The LT89 shares the LE99’s wash specs but uses a side-arm panel and has no dryer, and I’ve used it. It scored 8.6, losing only the dryer check.
Brondell’s spec sheet lists warm water washes, adjustable water temperature and pressure, a four-level heated seat, an LED nightlight, a self-cleaning stainless steel nozzle with five positions, oscillation, gentle, pulse and strong wash modes, a gentle-close seat and lid and a quick-release seat.
What it doesn’t list is a dryer. The LT89 and LE89 share a manual, and it marks the warm air dryer as “LE89 model only”. If drying matters to you, this isn’t the seat.
The wash numbers match the LE99: four water temperature levels including off, up to 102.2°F, five pressure levels, a supply range of 9.95 to 106.7 psi, and rear wash flow of 0.13 to 0.21 gallons per minute. Maximum power draw is 870 W, with an 800 W heater.
Controls sit on a side-arm panel on the seat, so there’s no remote to lose and no batteries to change. Fit is the same as the LE99: 5.25 to 7.45 in. bolt spacing, a 330 lb seat limit and a 160 lb lid limit. The cord is 46.8 in. and the hose 25 in.
The elongated seat weighs 11.24 lb and is 1.4 in. thick, and Brondell lists a thermal fuse, thermostat, water level sensor and seat-occupied sensor among its safety devices.
Brondell’s manual says to check the mesh filter in the water inlet at least once a year, since intervals vary with use and water quality, using tweezers to pull it and a toothbrush to clean it. The same check applies to all four seats.
The residential warranty is one year, 100% parts and labor.

Buy it if
You want side-arm controls and a dryer, every user is under 275 lb, and your bolts are 5.5 in. apart.
Skip it if
Anyone over 275 lb uses the toilet, or your bolt spacing isn’t 5.5 in.
The SE400 is Brondell’s side-arm seat with a dryer, and I’ve used it. It scored 7.1, losing the seat-limit and quick-release checks.
The spec sheet lists an adjustable five-position stainless steel nozzle, oscillation and massage wash modes, adjustable water pressure and temperature, a four-level heated seat, a five-level warm air dryer, a gentle-close seat and lid, an LED nightlight, a side-arm control panel and a self-cleaning, retractable nozzle.
Water temperature runs to 104°F over four levels including off, and pressure has five levels. Supply pressure can run from 14.2 to 106.6 psi, and flow is 0.09 to 0.30 gallons per minute for each wash. Maximum power draw is 660 W, the lowest of the four, with a 600 W heater. An auto function runs a rear wash and then the dryer.
Two limits cost it points. The seat limit is 275 lb, against 330 lb for the others. And there’s no quick-release button: the manual says to remove it by pulling the bidet away from the mounting plate.
Fit is the narrowest here. The sheet lists 5.5 in. between bolt holes, while the other three adjust. Measure before you order. The power cord is the longest at 48 in., which helps when the outlet isn’t right beside the toilet. The bidet hose is the shortest, at 19.7 in.
It’s also the thickest seat of the four at 2.6 in., per the sheet, against 1.02 in. for the 1400 and 1.4 in. for the LE99 and LT89. The elongated seat weighs 9.7 lb, the lid holds 178 lb, and each wash and dry cycle runs a default 2 minutes.
Like the others, Brondell says to use a grounded GFCI outlet rated for at least 15 amps, and an eco mode lowers water and seat temperature.
The residential warranty is one year, 100% parts and labor.
At least 1.5 in., or the seat may hang slightly over the bowl front
C. Between bolt holes
SE400 5.5 in.; LE99 and LT89 5.25–7.45 in.; Swash 1400 5.25–8 in. on its sheet (its manual says 5.25–8.3 in.)
D. Tank front to bowl front
20 in. or more: elongated; under 20 in.: round
Brondell’s fit diagram from the LT89 listing: measure A, B and C before ordering. Product photo: Amazon
One quirk: the SE400 and Swash 1400 sheets print the tank clearance two ways in the same box, once as 1.5 in. and once as 2 in. If your measurement falls between the two, expect the seat to sit a little forward over the bowl.
Measurement D decides the size more than the name of your toilet. Brondell says that under 20 in. from the tank front to the bowl front, an elongated seat will hang past the front edge, so order round.

Every Brondell manual here says to use the seat only with a grounded GFCI outlet and a three-prong cord, on an outlet rated for at least 15 amps and not shared with too many other products. All four run on 120 V, 60 Hz.
Cord length sets where the outlet has to be. The 1400’s 42 in. cord is the shortest here. If there’s no grounded GFCI outlet within reach of the toilet, plan for one before the seat goes on. Brondell also warns against moving the seat by its cord or using a damaged plug.

The LE99 and LT89 start lowest at 9.95 psi, which matters if your pressure is low. Above 100 psi the 1400 is out of range, and IPC section 604.8 already calls for a pressure-reducing valve where static pressure tops 80 psi; see water pressure regulators.
Each seat connects with a T-valve at the toilet’s fill valve, on the cold supply only. The manuals say a rigid supply line may need replacing with a flexible one first.

Brondell’s warranties go to the original purchaser and exclude consumable filters. They don’t cover damage from sediment in the water system, improper installation, chlorine products, electrical surges or shipping. Brondell also isn’t responsible for removal, return shipping or reinstallation costs.
How a Swash goes on
1
Remove the old seat
Lift the hinge covers and unscrew the bolts.
2
Shut off and drain
Close the valve, flush, hold the handle down.
3
Fit the T-valve
Under the tank, at the fill valve, cold only.
4
Reconnect the supply
Wall line to the bottom of the T-valve.
5
Mount the plate
Bolts through the plate and toilet holes.
6
Slide on the seat
Connect the hose, open the water, plug in.
Those steps follow Brondell’s manuals. The T-valve goes directly under the tank, not at the wall, and Brondell says not to plug the seat in while it’s upside down. Check every connection for leaks before you use it, and keep the rubber washers in place.
If your toilet’s fill-valve connection is unusual or the supply line is rigid, plan a flexible supply line. For the full job, see bidet installation.
Care and storage
Task
When
What Brondell says
Clean the seat
As needed
Soft damp cloth and mild cleanser; no thinners, acids or abrasives
Check the mesh filter
At least once a year
Water off, tank drained, seat off; clean with a toothbrush
Deodorizer (1400)
About every 6 months
Replace the carbon filter
Long storage (over 4 months)
Before storing
Unplug, shut water, remove the seat, drain the heater
Brondell warns that thinners, benzene, acidic chemicals or hydrochloric acid detergents can corrode metal parts and discolor the seat. If the filter goes back in wrong, the manual says the seat may leak, so check it carefully.

The SE600 is the SE400 with a wireless remote, per Brondell’s spec sheet: the same 275 lb seat limit, five nozzle positions and five-level dryer, and its manual also has you pull the seat off the plate rather than use a quick release. It would tie the SE400 at 7.1, and the four picks above cover its features.
Other Brondell bidets
Brondell also makes non-electric seats, like the Swash EcoSeat S101, and attachments, like the SimpleSpa. They wash with supply-temperature water and need no outlet. They’re a different kind of product from these electric seats, so they’re covered on best non-electric bidet seat and best bidet attachment.
Measure first, then pick the control style, then the dryer. Weight and bolt spacing rule out seats before features do.
