Match the sprayer to your faucet. Moen faucets with a quick connect take the Moen 136103, Delta DIAMOND Seal faucets take the RP60097, and most other brands take Danco’s 89215.

Buy it if
Your faucet says Moen, and the side spray hose under the sink ends in a quick connect with one or two release tabs.
Skip it if
The hose ends in a black fitting with a black retainer. That’s Moen’s 2018 direct connect, which takes a different part.
Moen’s side spray is the one people mean when they say kitchen faucet sprayer: a freestanding head about 4 to 5 in. tall with a trigger, usually with “Moen” printed or engraved on it. The 136103 is a head and hose sold together, so you replace the whole run from the deck to the faucet body.
It’s on Moen’s own list of current quick connect side sprays. Moen’s side spray article lists 13 of them, and the 136103 is the one Moen names as the stand-in for seven discontinued sprays: 1862, 101476, 1873, 101474, 104234, 125710 and 40083. That makes it the most likely match for an older Moen kitchen faucet.
Before you buy, follow the hose under the sink to the faucet. Moen sorts its side sprays by that connection. Faucets from before 1994 used a male threaded end on a clear reinforced hose with a crimped brass fitting. Faucets from 1994 to 2007 used a female threaded end. Since 2007 it’s been quick connect.
Quick connect comes in two kinds. A double quick connect has two release tabs, and a built-in quick connect has one. Both take the 136103 as is. A threaded end doesn’t, so Moen sells an adapter kit: 168665 for female threaded faucets and 168666 for male threaded ones.
Moen is blunt about that adapter. Its article says the adapter kit is NOT an optional part, and that the new spray is visually NOT the same as the old one. If your faucet is from the threaded era, order the adapter at the same time, or the new hose has nothing to connect to.
Moen lists the 136103 in ten finishes, from chrome to stainless, copper and classic gold. The two I found new and sold by Amazon.com are chrome (136103C) and stainless (136103SL). The stainless listing names Moen’s Duralock quick connect and says to check that your faucet uses it before you order.
My call: if your faucet is a Moen from 2007 on and the hose ends in tabs, buy the 136103 in your finish. On an older threaded Moen, buy it with the 168665 or 168666 adapter Moen names. Call Moen at 1-800-BUY-MOEN if the hose end doesn’t match any of these.
The pick for a faucet made by Delta: the RP60097
Best for Delta DIAMOND Seal faucets
Delta RP60097 DIAMOND Seal vegetable spray assembly

Buy it if
Your Delta faucet uses DIAMOND Seal Technology and either had a side spray or has a spare hole to the right of it.
Skip it if
Your Delta faucet isn’t a DIAMOND Seal model. Look up your model on Delta’s parts pages or call Delta first.
Delta calls this a vegetable spray assembly, and the name on its install sheet is exact: DIAMOND Seal Technology Vegetable Spray Assembly, model RP60097. Delta says it does two jobs. It replaces the side spray on a DIAMOND Seal faucet, or it turns a DIAMOND Seal faucet sold without a spray into one with a spray.
That second job is why it’s the Delta pick. Delta’s sheet 116926 has you mount the spray support in the far right hole of the sink, hand tight only, and feed the hose down through it. If your faucet came without a side spray and your sink has a spare hole on the right, this is the part Delta names for adding one.
The hookup under the sink is a clip, not a thread. Pull the diverter clip outward until it’s loose but still in place. If you’re adding a spray, pull off the diverter cap and throw it away. Push the hose nipple all the way into the diverter, then push the clip back until its arms sit fully in the slots.
Delta’s last step is to pull down on the hose moderately to make sure it’s locked. To take one off later, Delta’s answer on its product page is to pinch the sides, push up slightly, then pull down. No thread tape and no wrench are in the steps.
Delta’s Q&A says the RP60097 includes the sprayer, hose and diverter assembly, and that it doesn’t come apart into separate parts. The hose isn’t sold on its own. If only the hose leaks, the fix Delta lists is still the whole assembly.
One thing doesn’t line up. The install sheet starts by mounting a spray support, but the stainless listing says the spray support is sold separately. If you’re replacing a worn spray, keep your old support in the sink. If the hole is empty, call Delta at 1-800-345-3358 to confirm what’s in the box.
My call: on a DIAMOND Seal Delta, buy the RP60097 in chrome or the RP60097SS in stainless. Both were sold by Amazon.com on Oct 21, 2026. The listing says it meets California and Vermont low-lead rules. If you aren’t sure your faucet is a DIAMOND Seal model, check with Delta before you order.

Your faucet isn’t a Moen or Delta, you can’t find the brand, or the genuine part isn’t sold any more.
Skip it if
You have a Moen with a quick connect or a DIAMOND Seal Delta. The maker’s own part goes on with fewer steps.
Danco makes faucet repair parts, not faucets, so its side spray is built to fit someone else’s faucet. The 89215 is a chrome plastic side spray with a detachable braided hose. Danco says the hose resists kinking and the spray face is made to cut down on mineral buildup.
The fit is the reason to buy it. Danco says the 89215 is compatible with most faucet brands and includes a quick connect adapter that fits newer style Delta, Moen and Kohler faucets. That covers the case where the faucet has no name on it, or the maker no longer sells a side spray for it.
Danco’s side spray steps take longer than a genuine part. You take out the old hose, then put the round nut on the spray head end and the hex nut on the end that goes to the faucet. The guide goes into the sink hole, then the clip, a nylon washer and a rubber washer, all hand tight.
Under the sink, a small washer goes in the hex nut and the quick connect adapter screws in, tightened gently. Then you pick the nipple adapter that matches your faucet’s connection and wrap its threads with 2 to 4 turns of thread tape, clockwise. Danco’s tool list is thread tape, an adjustable wrench and adjustable pliers.
The last step is the quick connect itself. Pull back the white collar, push the fitting on, let the collar go and tug on the hose to make sure it’s locked. Danco’s steps say to choose the nipple adapter that fits your faucet’s connection, so check each one against your faucet before you tape it.
One limit: the body is plastic, per Danco’s spec sheet, where the Moen and Delta parts are their own makers’ assemblies. The brushed nickel version is part 89216. On Oct 21, 2026 the chrome 89215 was in stock and sold by Amazon.com.
My call: buy the 89215 when you can’t name your faucet’s brand or its maker no longer sells the side spray. Danco’s line is 1-800-523-5135 if your connection doesn’t match any adapter in the box.
The head is cracked, sticks or leaks at the trigger, but the hose is dry and the spray still diverts water.
Skip it if
Water drips under the sink, the hose is kinked, or the spout keeps running when you squeeze. Replace the hose or the whole assembly.
Sometimes the hose is fine and only the head failed. The 88760 is Danco’s answer: a thumb-control side spray head that threads onto the hose you already have. Danco calls it a universal fit for most existing side spray hoses, across various brands.
It’s the quickest job on this page. Danco’s instruction sheet lists no tools at all. Turn off the water, take off the old head, its bottom nut and the retaining clip, and unthread the bottom nut from the new sprayer. Push the hose through that nut, snap the C-clip into either of the two grooves on the hose fitting, and hand tighten.
Danco’s sheet says not to overtighten that nut. The last step is to turn the water back on and check for leaks. That makes it the one pick here you can finish with only your hands.
The hose fitting has two grooves, and Danco says the C-clip can snap into either one. If your old hose end doesn’t take the bottom nut and clip, replace head and hose together with the 89215 above.
Know what this head can’t fix. If water drips from the hose under the sink, or the hose has a kink, a new head won’t stop it. A spout that keeps running while you squeeze points to the diverter in the faucet body, which our diverter replacement guide covers.
Danco makes the head in plastic with a chrome finish and says it’s easy to clean, which keeps mineral buildup down. A brushed nickel version is part 89270. Danco’s page also carries a California Prop 65 notice for chromium.
My call: if the hose is dry and the head is the only broken part, the 88760 is the least work and doesn’t need tools. On Oct 21, 2026 it was in stock and sold by Amazon.com. On a Moen with a quick connect hose, the 136103 replaces the head and hose together instead.

Buy it if
The head on your pull-down faucet broke and its maker no longer sells that head, or you can’t find the model.
Skip it if
Your faucet’s maker still sells the head for your model. That part matches the spout and the docking magnet.
This one isn’t a side spray. It’s a replacement head for a pull-down or pull-out faucet, where the spray head docks in the spout and pulls out on its own hose. Danco calls the Smart Spray a universal pull-down replacement head that installs on your existing faucet.
It’s here because “kitchen faucet head replacement” is a search as common as the side spray ones, and the genuine heads are sold model by model. When your faucet’s maker still sells the head for your model, buy that. When it doesn’t, or you can’t find the model, the Smart Spray is the universal option with maker documents behind it.
The fit comes from adapters. Danco’s description says the box has adapters for Moen, Glacier Bay, AquaSource, Kohler and Price Pfister. You pick the adapter for your faucet brand and screw the Smart Spray onto it. The listing and Danco’s feature list add Delta to that list, which the description leaves out.
That gap matters if your faucet is a Delta. Treat Delta as possible, not promised, and check the adapter against your hose end before you throw out the old head. The conflicts table further down shows both versions.
The head has two sprays: a wide spray and a stream. Danco rates both at 1.5 gallons per minute and calls them water saving. If your old head was rated higher, expect a gentler flow.
The body is plastic with a stainless steel look. Danco also makes it in chrome and matte black. Since it’s a head only, the pull-down hose stays. If the hose is the part that leaks, our guides to Moen hose replacement and Delta hose replacement cover those.
My call: use the 10724 when the maker’s own head is gone. On Oct 21, 2026 it was sold by Amazon.com and in stock. Keep the old head until the new one is on and tested, in case none of the adapters matches your hose.

Head, hose or the whole spray?
Most wrong orders come from buying a head when the hose failed, or a whole faucet when a head would do. Start with where the water goes.
The Delta row comes from Delta’s sheet, which says the RP60097 converts a DIAMOND Seal faucet sold without a spray. For other brands, check the faucet maker’s parts list before adding a spray.
The hose is the part you can’t see, so check it first. Run water, squeeze the sprayer and look under the sink with a flashlight. A wet hose or wet cabinet floor means the hose or its connection, and a new head won’t fix it.
A Delta RP60097 already includes the diverter parts, per Delta. On a Moen or other brand, the diverter lives in the faucet body and is a separate repair.
Which Moen side spray connection do you have?
Follow the side spray hose under the sink to where it meets the faucet. Moen sorts its side sprays by what you find there.

Direct connect is found on a limited number of Moen models, per Moen. Those sprays come with the retainer, and Moen says to order 191940 when you need 191140. If your hose ends in black plastic with a black clip, don’t buy the 136103.
Moen also lists 13 current quick connect side sprays: 140028, 136103, 144474, 136106, 136105, 136104, 141006, 164486, 168496, 193071, 179626, 179086 and 191934. Moen’s parts diagram for your faucet model shows which one it takes.

From Moen’s side spray support article, read Oct 19, 2026. Moen: “The adapter kit is NOT an optional part.”
The old spray number is often on the old part’s box or the faucet’s manual. If not, Moen’s customer service at 1-800-BUY-MOEN can look it up from the faucet model.
On Oct 19, 2026 the only Amazon listing for adapter 168665 was a small seller with 5 left, so it isn’t linked here. A plumbing supply house or Moen can order it.
Moen’s parts diagrams also list a side spray extension kit, 100816, for thick deck installs. Check it before you order if your counter is thicker than standard.

Watch for
A1
Mount the spray support in the far right sink hole
Hand tighten only
A2
Feed the spray hose down through the support
Keep the hose free of kinks
B1
Pull the diverter clip outward until loose

B3
Push the hose nipple fully into the diverter
It must go all the way in
B4
Push the clip in until its arms sit in the slots
Arms fully inside
B5
Pull down on the hose moderately
It should stay locked
From Delta’s M&I sheet 116926, Rev. A, 10/01/2024, read Oct 19, 2026. To remove it later, Delta’s product page Q&A says to pinch the sides, push up slightly, then pull down.
Step B2 only applies when you’re adding a spray to a faucet that didn’t have one. On a replacement, the cap is already gone and the old hose comes out the way Delta’s Q&A describes.
Delta’s Q&A says the spray, hose and diverter parts come as one assembly that doesn’t break down into separate parts. Delta’s step B3 says to make sure the nipple is completely inserted before you push the clip in.

Most kitchens land on one of the first three rows. A Moen quick connect hose with one or two tabs takes the 136103. A black direct connect end takes Moen’s 191929, 191938 or 191940 instead. An unmarked faucet from a home center takes the Danco 89215 and one of its adapters.
Take a photo of the hose end under the sink before you order. It answers the connection question for every pick here.
Questions people ask
What is the best kitchen faucet sprayer?
The one made for your faucet. For a Moen with a quick connect, the Moen 136103. For a Delta DIAMOND Seal faucet, the Delta RP60097. For other or unknown brands, the Danco 89215 with its adapters.
Can I replace just the sprayer on my kitchen sink?
Yes. A side spray head, its hose, or both can be replaced without changing the faucet. Danco’s 88760 replaces only the head; the Moen 136103, Delta RP60097 and Danco 89215 replace head and hose.
Are all kitchen sink sprayers universal?
No. Moen sorts its sprays by four connection types, and older ones need an adapter. Delta’s RP60097 fits DIAMOND Seal models only. Danco’s universal parts fit most brands through adapters.
Can you buy just the sprayer for a kitchen sink?
Yes. Moen, Delta and Danco all sell side sprays as repair parts. Delta’s comes with the hose and diverter parts as one assembly and its hose isn’t sold separately.
How do I know which Moen side spray I have?
Follow the hose under the sink. Moen says a male threaded end is before 1994, female threaded is 1994 to 2007, quick connect with one or two tabs is 2007 on, and a black end with a black retainer is direct connect from 2018.
Do I need an adapter for a Moen side spray?
On a threaded Moen, yes. Moen says the 168665 kit goes with female threaded faucets and 168666 with male threaded, and that the adapter is not optional. Quick connect faucets don’t need one.
Can I add a side sprayer to a faucet that doesn’t have one?
On a Delta DIAMOND Seal faucet, yes: Delta says the RP60097 converts a model sold without a spray. Delta’s sheet mounts it in the far right hole of the sink, so you need a spare one. For other brands, check the faucet maker’s parts list.
Will a Danco sprayer fit a Moen or Delta faucet?
Danco says the 89215 includes a quick connect adapter for newer Delta, Moen and Kohler faucets. On a Moen with tabs or a DIAMOND Seal Delta, the maker’s own part installs with fewer steps.
Do I need tools to replace a kitchen sprayer?
For the Danco 88760 head, no tools, per Danco. For a Danco head and hose, Danco lists thread tape, an adjustable wrench and pliers. Delta’s RP60097 steps use only your hands.
Why does my faucet keep running when I use the sprayer?
The diverter in the faucet sends water to the spray when you squeeze it. If the spout keeps running, look at the diverter; our diverter replacement guide covers it. Delta’s RP60097 includes its diverter parts.
Can I replace a pull-down faucet head?
Yes. Buy your faucet maker’s head for your model if it’s still sold. If not, Danco’s 10724 Smart Spray screws onto the existing hose with adapters for Moen, Glacier Bay, AquaSource, Kohler and Price Pfister.
What if my counter is too thick for the side spray?
Moen’s parts diagrams list a side spray extension kit, 100816, for thick deck installs. For other brands, ask the faucet maker before you drill or shim.
How I picked these
Why trust me
I’m Isaac Daniels, a licensed journeyman plumber in Georgia (license #JP507711). Every number here comes from the makers’ install sheets, support articles and product pages, read the same day.
How I pick
Only genuine brand products, new and in stock, checked through Amazon’s Creators API on Oct 19 and again Oct 21, 2026. All five picks were sold by Amazon.com.
One pick per job: Moen faucets, Delta DIAMOND Seal faucets, other or unknown brands, a broken head on a good hose, and a pull-down head.
A maker document I could read was required. Look-alike “replacement for” listings and heads with no maker documents were dropped.
Fit facts from the maker first, then the listing. Where they disagree, the conflicts table shows which I used.
The spec score checks how exactly the maker names the faucets a part fits and how simple the hookup is, per its own steps. None of these makers publish comparable spray tests, so spray feel isn’t scored.
CPSC recall search for faucet sprayers, kitchen faucets, Danco, Moen and Delta.
The spec score, check by check
A sprayer part has two jobs: fit your faucet and go on without a leak. So the score has two checks, from each maker’s install sheet, fit list and the comparison table, averaged to one decimal. Every pick has to reach 7.0.
Flow and spray patterns aren’t in the score. Only Danco publishes a flow rate (1.5 GPM on the 10724), and a side spray’s flow is set by the faucet it’s on.
