How the four compare on our spec score
Five checks from each maker’s spec sheet, install sheet and product page, equal weight. Rules and inputs are in the method section.
PlumbingPicks spec score out of 10, from Moen’s and Delta’s spec sheets, install sheets and product pages, read Oct 23, 2026. It is not a load test of our own or a customer rating.
All four carry a lifetime limited warranty and come with mounting hardware. The Genta LX is the only one where I could read everything on our list: the material, the anchors in the box, a template, and drywall and masonry steps on its own install sheet.
Neither Moen nor Delta publishes a weight rating for these bars on the documents I read, so the score doesn’t pretend to. How well a bar holds depends far more on what you screw it into, which is why the mounting planner below matters more than the score.

You want brushed nickel today; that finish wasn’t in stock on Amazon when I checked.
The Genta LX is the towel bar I’d hang in most bathrooms, and I’ve used it. Moen’s technical specification says the 24-inch bar is constructed of zinc and stands 3-1/4 inches off the wall on bases 1-3/4 inches across.
What sets it apart is the install sheet. Moen lists the hardware kit: 4 plastic toggle anchors, 4 wood or anchor screws, 1 plastic pin and 1 hex wrench. It also lists the tools: a Phillips screwdriver, drill, 1/4-inch and 5/16-inch bits, hammer, level and tape.
For drywall, Moen has you tape the template level on the wall, drill two 5/16-inch holes at each post, fold and insert the toggle anchors, then tap the plastic pin in to open each one. For a stud, use the wood screws only.
For masonry, the sheet says to drill a 1/4-inch pilot hole and tap the anchors flush. The mounting posts go on with the notch facing down, and the bar’s end posts slide over them and lock with set screws on the bottom.
Moen’s page lists a limited lifetime warranty. Its spec sheet adds the care rule: clean only with a soft damp cloth, dry it well, and don’t use commercial or abrasive cleaners.
It didn’t lose a point on our checks. The one catch is finish: the brushed nickel listing showed only an available-date on Oct 23, 2026, so the pick here is the chrome BH3824CH. Moen also makes it in matte black.
My call: the toggle anchors are the reason it’s the pick. A toggle opens behind the drywall and spreads the load there, which matters when both posts miss a stud.
Moen’s template also marks the 18-inch bar, the hand towel bar and the paper holder from the same suite, so you can lay out a whole wall with one sheet.

Buy it if
You want a modern, machined look in brushed nickel with Moen’s warranty.
Skip it if
You want step-by-step drywall instructions in hand before you buy. The Genta LX publishes them.
The Iso is the one I’d pick for a modern bathroom, and I’ve used it. Moen describes the Iso collection as a telescoping, machined-metal design, and its spec sheet gives the details: zinc posts and an aluminum bar.
The 24-inch bar measures 26-1/2 inches overall, sits 3-1/8 inches off the wall, and has round bases 2-1/2 inches across. Moen sells it in chrome, brushed nickel, matte black and bronzed gold; the pick here is brushed nickel.
Moen’s product page lists the install features: an included template and mounting hardware, and a stamped steel mounting bracket. It also calls the bar corrosion resistant and backs it with a limited lifetime warranty.
The care instructions match the Genta: clean with a soft damp cloth, wipe it dry, and avoid commercial or abrasive cleaners.
Where it lost a point: the documents on Moen’s product page for the DN0724 were the spec sheet and CAD files. I couldn’t find a published install sheet with wall-type steps, so it scored 7 on that check.
That doesn’t mean it’s hard to install, just that you’ll read the steps when the box arrives instead of before. The mounting method follows the same idea as other Moen bars: a bracket on the wall and the post over it.
My call on the aluminum bar: it keeps the bar light, which puts less pull on the anchors. That’s a good thing on drywall.
Moen’s spec sheet lists four stock numbers for the same bar, DN0724CH, DN0724BN, DN0724BL and DN0724BZG, so you can match chrome, brushed nickel, matte black or bronzed gold fixtures without changing the mount.
It’s the one I’d choose when looks come first and you’ll be screwing at least one post into a stud.

Buy it if
You want a slim round bar, or you’re matching other Trinsic fixtures, and you can hit a stud or buy toggles.
Skip it if
You’re hanging on hollow drywall with no stud and want anchors for that in the box. The Genta LX includes toggles.
Delta’s Trinsic is the round bar I’d pick, and I’ve used it. Delta’s spec sheet shows a 5/8-inch round bar, 2-1/4-inch round bases, a 24-inch bar length and 26-1/4 inches overall, sitting 3-5/16 inches from the wall.
The warranty on the spec sheet is specific: a lifetime limited warranty on parts and finish for homeowners, or 10 years for multi-family residential and 5 years for other commercial uses.
Delta’s standard specifications say wood blocking is preferable behind the wall. Without it, Delta suggests plastic or lead anchors for tile or masonry, and toggle bolts for plaster or drywall. Mounting hardware and a template come in the box.
The maintenance and installation sheet goes further. Delta says to mount at least one end into a stud if possible, and gives 25 inches as the bracket spacing for the 24-inch model. Into a stud, drill 1/8-inch holes and use the two screws provided.
On ceramic tile, Delta says to put the holes on a grout line if you can, use a 1/4-inch carbide bit, and push the anchors in flush. It also says sheetrock or hollow doors may need molly or toggle bolts, which aren’t included.
Where it lost a point: Delta’s documents don’t say what the bar is made of. Delta’s page does say its Brilliance finishes resist abrasion and discoloration better than traditional brass or chrome.
Champagne bronze is the finish on this listing. Delta lists chrome, matte black, polished nickel, stainless and Venetian bronze too.
Delta’s install sheet also lists the whole Trinsic bar family with bracket spacing: 13 inches for the 12-inch bar, 19 for the 18-inch, 25 for the 24-inch and 31 for the 30-inch.
My call: buy a pair of toggle bolts with it if your wall is hollow drywall, before you start drilling.

Buy it if
You hang thick bath sheets and want the most room behind them, or you’re matching Lahara faucets.
Skip it if
The bar sits behind a door or in a tight walkway; a deeper bar sticks out farther.
Delta’s Lahara is the bar I’d pick for thick towels, and I’ve used it. Delta’s spec sheet shows it standing 3-3/4 inches off the wall, the deepest of the four, with a 3/4-inch round bar on 2-inch bases.
The bar is 24 inches long and 26 inches overall. Delta’s page says it coordinates with the Lahara bath collection; the finish on this listing is Delta’s Brilliance stainless.
Its warranty and mounting notes match the Trinsic: a lifetime limited warranty on parts and finish for homeowners, mounting hardware and a template in the box, and Delta’s fastener advice by wall type.
Delta’s install sheet for the 73824 again says to mount at least one end into a stud if you can find one, drill 1/8-inch holes for the provided screws in a stud, and use a 1/4-inch carbide bit on tile, ideally on a grout line.
The same sheet repeats the warning that matters most for a towel bar: sheetrock or hollow doors may need molly or toggle bolts, which are not included.
Where it lost a point: like the Trinsic, Delta’s documents don’t state the material, so it scored 7 on that check.
Delta’s product page says all mounting hardware and easy-to-follow instructions come in the box, aimed at the weekend DIYer, and its spec sheet points to deltafaucet.com for the full warranty terms.
My call on depth: an extra half inch off the wall lets a folded bath sheet dry with air on both sides. It also means the bar sticks out farther, so mind door swings.
Its thicker 3/4-inch bar is also easier to grab, which some people like near a tub. A towel bar isn’t a grab bar, though; see the safety note below.
The four bars side by side

Delta says drywall may need molly or toggle bolts that aren’t included. Moen’s Genta LX includes toggle anchors. Green marks a strength and amber a gap.
How to hang it on your wall
Pick the bar and what’s behind each post. It answers from the makers’ own install sheets.
Both makers say the same thing in different words: a stud or wood blocking is best. Delta says to mount at least one end into a stud if possible. Moen says to use only the wood screws when you’re in a stud. If neither post lands on a stud, the anchor does all the work.

My call on tile: tape over the spot before you drill, start slow without hammer mode, and let the carbide bit do the work.
Check for pipes before you drill. A towel bar near a shower valve or above a vanity can sit right over a supply line. If you’re unsure what’s behind the wall, our pipe locator guide covers finding it.

Plan for the overall width, not the bar length: a 24-inch bar needs about 26 inches of clear wall. My call: hold the template up before you commit, and check that the bar won’t hit a door, a light switch or a shower door handle.
Moen and Delta also make 18-inch and 30-inch versions in some collections. Delta’s Trinsic install sheet lists 12, 18, 24 and 30-inch models with their bracket spacings.

Don’t
Moen

Delta

Bathroom cleaners and toilet bowl cleaners are hard on metal finishes. Lysol’s toilet bowl cleaner label, for one, says its fumes are corrosive to metal. Keep spray cleaners off the bar, or wipe it with water after. Our toilet bowl cleaner guide has the details.
A towel bar is not a grab bar
This matters near a tub or shower.
Don’t lean on it
None of these makers publishes a weight rating for these bars; they are built for towels.
Need support? Use a grab bar
A grab bar is a different product, made and anchored to hold a person.
My call: if someone in the house reaches for the towel bar to steady themselves, install a proper grab bar next to it and keep the towel bar for towels.

Questions people ask
What is the best towel bar?
The Moen Genta LX, for its zinc build, included toggle anchors and published install steps. For a round bar, Delta Trinsic.
What size towel bar do I need?
A 24-inch bar is the common bath size. Plan for about 26 inches of wall, since the overall width runs wider than the bar.
How do you hang a towel bar on drywall?
Moen’s Genta LX sheet: drill 5/16-inch holes, insert the included plastic toggle anchors, and tap the pin to open them. Delta says use molly or toggle bolts.
Should a towel bar go into a stud?
Delta says to mount at least one end into a stud if possible. Moen says use the wood screws only when you’re in a stud.
Can you hang a towel bar on tile?
Yes. Delta says to use a 1/4-inch carbide bit, ideally on a grout line, and push the anchors in flush.
What drill bit for a towel bar?
Moen lists 1/4-inch and 5/16-inch bits. Delta uses 1/8-inch for studs and a 1/4-inch carbide bit for tile.
Are towel bars universal?
No. Bracket spacing and mounts differ by model; Delta lists 25-inch bracket spacing for its 24-inch Trinsic.
Can a towel bar be used as a grab bar?
No. These bars have no published weight rating. Use a grab bar for support.
Do towel bars have a warranty?
All four picks carry a lifetime limited warranty from Moen or Delta.
How do I clean a brushed nickel towel bar?
Moen says a soft damp cloth, dry it well, and no commercial or abrasive cleaners.
Towel bar or towel ring?
My call: a bar dries a full bath towel spread out; a ring suits a hand towel by the sink.
How far does a towel bar stick out?
From 3-1/8 inches (Moen Iso) to 3-3/4 inches (Delta Lahara) among these picks.
How we picked these
Why trust me
I’m Isaac Daniels, a licensed journeyman plumber in Georgia (license #JP507711), and I’ve used all four picks. Specs come from Moen’s and Delta’s own spec sheets, install sheets and product pages, read Oct 23, 2026. Where I add advice of my own, it’s labeled as my call.
