Choose the kit by model, size and needed components

Read the assembly model and nominal valve size first. For a confirmed 3/4 or 1 in. 975XL2 or 975XL repair that requires the listed rubber parts and springs, the linked RK34-975XL is Zurn’s Standard kit. The table shows what each kit actually includes. Have the service provider confirm the component need before ordering; a discharge alone is not a kit diagnosis.

Amazon names this listing “Complete Repair Kit with Springs,” but its model and manufacturer part number are RK34-975XL. Zurn names that exact code Standard.

975XL2 and 975XL: read both model and valve size

Use the size marked on the assembly, rather than measuring a nearby pipe’s outside diameter and guessing a kit prefix. In this family, RK34 covers both 3/4 and 1 in.; the larger family uses RK114. Check the table below before using a similar-looking part number from a different Wilkins model.

Seats, rubber, springs and covers are different purchases

Choose the contents that the inspected repair calls for. A spring-and-rubber purchase does not replace a damaged seat, poppet, plunger or cover. The maker’s matrix separates those parts. Ask the service provider to compare the received kit label and contents with the exact column before service. We compared documents and listing details; we have not inspected a received kit.

RK34-975XLSK contains two check seats and their O-rings, plus the relief-valve seat and its O-ring.

RK34-975XLA adds seats and their O-rings and Zurn’s relief-valve/check-seat tool to the Standard parts.

Resolve the two with-seats naming slips before ordering

This reference uses Zurn’s form 480-023, September 2024 edition. Preserve the exact kit suffix as well as the size. Two entries need extra care because the guide uses inconsistent wording or codes. The larger with-seats entry remains a confirmation task with Zurn and has no purchase link here.

For the larger with-seats kit, the page 64 matrix header says RK114-975XLA while the list below prints RK34-975XLA. Confirm the intended code with Zurn before ordering that larger kit.

Page 62 names RK14-975XLA “Standard Repair Kit w/seats”; the larger with-seats kits use a different title. Match the exact code and matrix, rather than transferring the title between sizes.

Ball valves and covers have their own part numbers

Shared internal repair-kit fit does not make every external component interchangeable. If the repair concerns a shutoff, cover or relief-valve rubber alone, identify that component’s part number in the exact assembly drawing. The examples below show why copying only the assembly’s broad family name can lead to the wrong order.

For 3/4 in. assemblies, the guide lists ball valve 34-850XL for 975XL2 and 34-850 for 975XL; their tapped versions are 34-850TXL and 34-850T.

For 3/4 and 1 in. 975XL2/975XL, separate cover kits are RK34-CK-COVER and RK34-RV-COVER; relief-valve rubber is RK34-975XLRVR.

975XL3 kits use their own size groups

Start a new lookup when the casting says 975XL3. Its prefixes, size groups and internal assemblies follow a separate table. In particular, use the rubber-kit size note in the first row: the guide lists that rubber kit for 3/4 in. even though the Standard kit covers two sizes.

RK34-975XL3RV (relief valve without cover) and RK34-975XL3RVC (complete relief-valve cover) cover 1/2 to 1 in. 975XL3 assemblies.

Swipe or scroll sideways to compare every column. Keyboard: focus the table and use the arrow keys.

375XL and 375 kits use a different family

For a 375XL or 375, use that model’s own kit list. Separate the internal repair, pressure vessel, wedge, cover and ball-valve tasks before choosing a code. The basic table below covers the two small size groups; the larger-size note retains the exact scope stated in the guide.

The 1/2 and 3/4 in. 375/375XL family also lists RK34-375V pressure-vessel, RK34-375W wedge, RK34-375BOF blow-out/flush, RK34-375FLUSH flush and RK34-375-RVCOVER relief-cover kits.

At 3/4 in., 375XL inlet/outlet ball-valve kits are RK34-375XLBV1 and RK34-375XLBV2; 375 uses RK34-375BV1 and RK34-375BV2. The green 375XL handle kit and blue 375 handle kit also differ.

The page 56 list names RK114-375V pressure-vessel and RK114-375R rubber kits specifically for 1-1/4 in., while its check-repair kit RK114-375 is labelled 1-1/4 to 2 in. Confirm the exact larger assembly and kit.

Confirm the service plan before purchasing

Bring the model, marked size and selected kit code to the service provider. This page helps select parts; follow the exact installation, testing and maintenance manual for the repair. Confirm the received package before work starts and arrange the required post-service test. Use the related assembly guide if you are deciding on a new preventer instead.

Zurn’s 975XL2 maintenance instructions call for inspection and maintenance by licensed personnel and require testing after reassembly.
