Radiator Valves

For an installer-specified thermostatic body, compare Danfoss 013G8014 for a 1/2-inch angle arrangement with Honeywell Home V110E1020/U for a 1-inch high-capacity angle arrangement. They are different sizes, not substitutes. Each needs the correct control and sensor arrangement.

This guide helps homeowners order the exact radiator valve specified by their licensed plumber or heating professional. It compares manufacturer documents and current model offers without hands-on testing or a DIY valve-change procedure.

Radiator valves: compare the actual body and control

These are different sizes, not direct substitutes
BodySizeControl family
Danfoss 013G80141/2-inch angleRA2000; choose operator separately
V110E1020/U1-inch angleT104; specific arrangement required

The first decision is the heating system and required connection arrangement. A radiator valve body, a thermostatic operator and an air vent perform different jobs. A search result containing the word radiator does not make those components interchangeable.

This comparison focuses on two documented thermostatic valve bodies for suitable hot-water or two-pipe steam applications. It is not a recommendation to substitute either body into an unidentified one-pipe steam system. Have a qualified heating professional identify the system and specify the assembly before ordering.

Danfoss 013G8014: the 1/2-inch angle-body choice

Consider 013G8014 when the installer specifies a 1/2-inch RA2000 angle body. Danfoss’s separate RA2000 data sheet lists that exact code, the angle pattern, a Cv of 1.6 and FPT by MPT union-tailpiece connections. A matching pipe size alone does not establish that the geometry or heating duty fits.

The RA2000 data sheet separates valve bodies from operators, which are packaged separately. The body is not a complete room-control purchase by itself. Ask the installer to name the exact compatible operator, sensor arrangement and any required accessories on the same equipment schedule.

Skip this exact code if the installation needs a different size, straight pattern or side-mount angle pattern. Danfoss gives those their own codes. Do not order the closest-looking angle valve and assume an adapter will resolve every fit difference.

It also matters where the sensor can sense room air. Danfoss’s illustrated configurations distinguish unobstructed locations from radiators enclosed by furniture, curtains or covers. Those arrangements can require a remote sensor. The installer should select the control using the model-specific diagram, not an isolated photograph of the body.

Offer checked October 17, 2026: new and in stock, sold by third-party seller Voomi Supply. The Amazon model field matched 013G8014. Warranty eligibility through that seller was not verified.

Honeywell Home V110E1020/U: a 1-inch high-capacity angle body

Consider V110E1020/U when the installer specifies this1-inch V110E angle body and its compatible T104 control arrangement. Resideo’s current product page names the full SKU and a Cv of 7. Its separate T104/V110 document lists V110E1020 among the 1-inch threaded angle bodies.

Do not treat the higher Cv as a reason to replace a smaller valve with this one. These bodies have different nominal sizes and published capacities. The heating professional must select the appropriate capacity for the installation; this page does not size a system from room area or radiator appearance.

Resideo’s document distinguishes V110E angle bodies from V110F horizontal-angle bodies and V110D straight bodies. For the V110E pattern it identifies T104B,C and F arrangements. A generic listing saying works with T104 is not enough to select a direct-mounted internal sensor for every orientation.

Skip this body when a 1-inch angle arrangement is not specified or the required sensor/control arrangement has not been resolved. A complete matched assembly should be identified before checkout. This guide does not select an actuator as a purchase pick.

Offer checked October 17, 2026: new, with limited stock, sold by third-party seller Homestead Supply & More. The model field matched V110E1020/U. We excluded a differently branded SOUTHRO listing carrying a similar number because its title did not establish a genuine Resideo product.

Valve body, operator or air vent: buy the component you need

A thermostatic radiator valve body goes in the heating circuit; the matching operator responds to the room temperature and operates that body. The manufacturers document the body and the control as a combination. A bare body with a protective cap is not the same purchase as a complete thermostatic assembly.

Danfoss says its RA2000 valves remain normally open with no operator mounted. Its sheet describes the supplied plastic cap as protection and manual control during installation, with a separate manual knob available when manual operation is required. Do not assume the shipping cap is the permanent room-control solution.

Resideo’s T104/V110 document describes separate supply and return piping for its hot-water and two-pipe steam applications and notes that special controls exist for one-pipe steam. That distinction is why neither selected body is offered here as a universal steam-radiator fix.

An air vent is another part again. Do not replace an unidentified vent with a supply-side valve because both appear in radiator search results. Record the component location and system type and let the heating professional determine which part needs replacement.

Body pattern and sensor position can change the order

Measure and photograph the existing arrangement for the installer, but do not use the exterior size of a nut as the nominal pipe size. The equipment schedule should specify the actual size, connection type, body pattern, mating tailpiece and control family. Avoid ordering by color, handle shape or brand alone.

The Danfoss data sheet lists 013G8013 as a side-mount angle,013G8014 as an angle and 013G8015 as a straight body within the 1/2-inch group. They are examples of distinct order codes, not three automatically interchangeable choices. The purchase link on this page is 013G8014 only.

Resideo’s diagrams make a similar distinction between V110E and V110F. A valve-mounted internal sensor needs an appropriate position and free room-air circulation. If the location would trap the sensor in heat from the pipe or an enclosure, a suitable remote-sensing arrangement may be needed.

Have the installer review the full drawing and sensor requirements before buying the body and operator. This is especially useful when replacing an old manual valve in a cramped corner: the body may appear to fit while leaving the intended control in the wrong sensing position.

Cv is a sizing figure, not a comfort ranking

Danfoss publishes Cv 1.6 for 013G8014; Resideo publishes Cv 7 for V110E1020/U. Cv describes valve flow capacity under a defined pressure difference. It does not tell you that one of these different-size bodies will make any room warmer, save more energy or be quieter in every system.

Neither manufacturer’s figure is a hands-on measurement by this site. We do not calculate an installation flow or choose a larger body from these two figures alone. Give the heating professional the room’s actual requirements and the system information needed for a proper selection.

A radiator that is cold or a room that overheats may involve something outside the selected valve. Replacing a body before diagnosing the problem can leave the original fault in place. Keep the symptom history, current component codes and any previous repair details with the equipment record.

Installation, warranty and the complete purchase record

Have a licensed plumber or qualified heating professional handle valve-body replacement and commissioning. This guide does not provide a hot-system opening, pressure-testing or in-service cartridge replacement procedure. A service feature described in a maker document is not an instruction for a homeowner to attempt it.

Before paying, get a complete list: exact body code, nominal size, connection and pattern, compatible operator, sensor placement and any separately required accessories. Confirm what the selected box includes and who will install the assembly. Keep the maker document revision with that list.

Warranty terms and eligibility were not verified for either purchase pick. Ask the maker about the selected seller and application before buying if coverage matters. We do not imply that a longer headline term or a familiar brand guarantees installation labor, energy savings or service life.

Both linked offers were explicitly new and marked as buy-box winners when checked on October 17, 2026; both were from third-party sellers. Stock, seller and selected variants can change. Confirm the exact model and condition on the destination page before checkout.

Other heating components have their own jobs. See our boiler expansion tank guide and hydronic air separator guide for their separate fit checks.

Frequently asked questions

Is a radiator valve body a complete thermostatic control?

No. The selected manufacturer documents distinguish bodies from their compatible operators. Identify the complete body, control and sensor arrangement before ordering.

Can I use 013G8014 for every steam radiator?

No. This guide concerns its documented hot-water and two-pipe low-pressure steam applications. A one-pipe steam system needs its own specified arrangement.

Are V110E and V110F the same body?

No. Resideo distinguishes the angle V110E from the horizontal-angle V110F and illustrates different control arrangements. Follow the exact body and sensor specification.

Is the higher-Cv radiator valve always better?

No. These examples have different nominal sizes and capacities. Have a heating professional select the appropriate size and capacity for the actual installation.

Can a cover or curtain affect the thermostat selection?

Yes. The maker diagrams distinguish free room-air circulation from enclosed or obstructed sensing positions. The installer may need a remote-sensing control arrangement.

How we chose

We opened maker product pages and separate exact-model data sheets for two brands, checked Amazon model fields and new buy-box offers, and reviewed the body/operator distinction from the original diagrams. No site sizing, pressure testing or installation performance is claimed. Read our selection method and about Plumbing Picks.
