For a white oval undermount sink, the Kohler Caxton 2210-0 fits the standard 14 x 17-inch countertop cutout. For a rectangular look, the Kohler Caxton 20000-0 is a 20-1/2-inch white basin with a deeper 5-5/16-inch bowl. Both are vitreous china with an overflow and come with Kohler’s clamp pack. Get the cutout template for the exact model to your countertop fabricator before anything is cut.

RECTANGULAR · WHITE
Kohler 20000-0: rectangular white basin
Choose 20000-0 when its rectangular geometry fits the countertop and cabinet. Kohler’s current K-20000 sheet (techcomm.kohler.com) identifies the undermount installation, overflow and vitreous-china construction. Its sheet lists a 17-5/8 x 13-1/8-inch basin that is 5-5/16 inches deep, with a 1-3/4-inch drain hole. The selected Amazon model and manufacturer-part fields both read 20000-0.
The sink has no faucet holes, so the faucet location belongs in the countertop or an approved wall-mounted arrangement. Compare the intended faucet with the bowl before fabrication. A rectangular shape does not determine where its water stream will land.
Skip it if you are trying to cover an existing oval opening without a fabricator confirming the change. Also skip it when the cabinet rail, drawer or countertop structure prevents the required mounting arrangement. A familiar brand and finish cannot resolve an incompatible opening.
OVAL · WHITE
Kohler 2210-0: white oval basin
Choose 2210-0 for the most common replacement job: an oval undermount sink in a counter cut for the standard 14 x 17-inch opening. The current K-2210 sheet (techcomm.kohler.com) lists a 19-1/4-inch oval with a 17 x 14-inch basin, 4-7/16 inches deep, an overflow, a 1-3/4-inch drain hole and an unglazed underside. Finish code 0 is white. The linked Amazon offer’s model and part fields read 2210-0.
Kohler also makes this sink in biscuit (96) and black (7). If you are matching an older biscuit toilet or tub, order the 96 suffix instead and compare the color in person; photos under different lighting don’t settle a color match.
Skip it if the design exposes the underside and requires a specifically glazed version. A similar model with a G suffix is a separate purchase. Do not treat that suffix as cosmetic or borrow another version’s template without confirmation.
The template comes before the countertop cut
Get the current exact-model cutout template before authorizing fabrication. Kohler’s current sheets require the appropriate template and warn that incorrect templates can cause cutout errors. A bowl’s overall length, inside basin length and countertop opening are different measurements.
For an existing countertop, have the fabricator compare the opening with the delivered sink and current template. An old oval opening may have a different contour from a new oval sink even when their quoted sizes look close. The same is true of rounded corners on rectangular bowls.
Decide the reveal with the sink and countertop professionals. The amount of rim visible below the opening affects the finished appearance and cleaning edge. Do not enlarge the opening merely to match an internet photograph without checking the permitted template and support geometry.
Inspect the delivered basin before the stone is cut. Keep it available for the fabricator’s comparison, and confirm that the box model matches the approved drawing. Retail titles can round dimensions or repeat older sheet values; those titles are not fabrication instructions.
The Kohler sheets checked here were dated October 8, 2026. Small drawing dimensions can differ from older archived sheets, so use the current template rather than a number copied from an old page.
Clamps, countertop and access below
Check the complete support method against the countertop material and the sink instructions. The included clamp accessory pack does not establish that every fastener in a retail kit suits every stone, wood or composite counter. The installer must confirm the actual attachment detail.
Sealant at the rim and the components that carry the basin serve different purposes in the assembly. Do not assume a tube of construction adhesive replaces the specified clamps or support. Use the sink and countertop makers’ approved products and procedures rather than choosing glue from a forum comment.
Leave room beneath the countertop for the basin body, drain fitting, trap and service tools. Include cabinet rails, drawers and doors in the check. A bowl that fits through the top opening can still conflict with a drawer or leave a mounting location inaccessible.
Plan future access and removal. Avoid a support arrangement that leaves the drain impossible to service or transfers the sink’s weight onto the plumbing. If an existing undermount sink is separating from the counter, stop using it and arrange a supported repair rather than adding caulk to the visible seam.
Overflow, drain and faucet fit
Match the drain to the sink’s actual opening and overflow arrangement. Both current Kohler sheets identify an overflow, but an overflow opening is not the same as an included stopper or complete drain fitting. Inventory the delivered package and choose the required separate drain.
A compatible drain needs the correct sealing geometry and passage for the sink’s overflow design. Do not block those passages with a mismatched fitting. Our bathroom sink stopper guide helps identify push-operated and lift-operated assemblies when comparing with old parts.
Check the drain outlet and trap location against the cabinet layout before choosing a deeper basin. The proposed connection should be reviewed by the installer rather than assumed from the old sink. A different bowl depth or outlet location can change the work below the counter.
Above the sink, check faucet reach, outlet height, handle movement and backsplash clearance together. A faucet can fit its hole while leaving too little room for hands or directing the stream close to the back of the bowl. The sink template alone does not solve those faucet-placement questions.
Vitreous china, ceramic and other materials
The two linked models are specified as vitreous china. A retail category labeled ceramic does not by itself identify a different performance grade. Read the exact product’s material and care sheet instead of ranking sinks by a broad category name.
Kohler’s undermount range (kohler.com) includes other materials, including stainless steel, cast iron and glass. Those are different exact products with their own mounting and care requirements. Do not transfer a vitreous-china clamp or cleaning instruction to another material merely because both sinks mount below the counter.
For a porcelain alternative, Kraus KCU-241 (kraususa.com) illustrates why current documents matter: its public product description and older downloadable sheet use different dimensional values. We have not linked a purchase offer for that model here. Resolve the current drawing and template with the maker before using it for fabrication.
Choose the shape, verified fit and maintenance requirements you can support. Do not assume a finish is scratch-proof, stain-proof or safe with any chemical. Use the delivered sink’s care instructions and avoid an unverified abrasive or acid treatment to match an old cleaning routine.
Receiving and installation checklist
- Approve the exact model. Record shape, finish and every suffix before ordering.
- Inspect the delivery. Check the rim, bowl and overflow area for damage before fabrication or installation.
- Approve the current template. Have the fabricator compare it with the actual basin and countertop conditions.
- Confirm the support detail. Match clamps, fasteners and any required supports to the actual countertop and sink instructions.
- Check the plumbing layout. Confirm faucet clearance, drain, trap and access beneath the counter.
- Complete the maker’s installation. Observe the specified sealant cure and support requirements, then test supply, drainage and the rim joint for leaks.
Do not stand, sit or lean a heavy load into an installed bathroom sink. Preserve the model label, current drawings and installation record. If the joint separates, the basin moves or water appears beneath the counter, stop and have the support and plumbing checked.
Undermount bathroom sink FAQ
Can I replace any undermount bathroom sink with one the same size?
No. Compare the actual opening, current exact-model template, basin envelope and mounting detail. Similar outside dimensions do not establish an interchangeable cutout.
Is silicone alone enough to hold an undermount sink?
Use the complete support and sealing method specified by the sink and countertop makers. Do not assume sealant replaces required clamps or other support components.
Does an overflow sink include its drain assembly?
Not automatically. An overflow describes the basin feature. Check the box contents and select a drain fitting compatible with the actual opening and overflow design.
Can I use the same faucet with a deeper basin?
Check spout reach, outlet height, handle clearance and the actual basin shape. Also confirm the changed drain and cabinet space beneath the countertop.
What size cutout does the Kohler Caxton 2210 need?
Kohler’s current sheet says the K-2210 fits a standard 14 x 17-inch countertop cutout. Use the exact template for the delivered model before the countertop is cut.
How we chose
