Fit and power: check before you order

All three are elongated. The AquaWash Slim drawing shows 5-1/2-inch bolt-hole spacing and an 18-1/8-inch length from the bolt-hole line; compare with your bowl. Our round vs elongated guide and toilet seat size guide show how to measure.

The two Advanced Clean seats need a 120 V outlet within reach of their cords, 47-1/4 inches for the 2.5 and 39 inches for the 3.0. If there is no outlet near the toilet, adding one is a job for an electrician, and the non-electric AquaWash Slim is the alternative.

Supply connection and installation

Each AS seat ships with a water supply hose for the toilet’s supply connection, per the sheets. The AquaWash Slim sheet lists a T-valve and supply hose as replacement parts, and the seat ships with a supply hose and mounting hardware. Shut off the toilet stop first, and replace a stiff or leaking stop before you start; our shutoff valve guide covers options. Follow American Standard’s installation guide for your exact seat.

Which American Standard seat fits your needs

Start with power. If there is no outlet within reach, the AquaWash Slim is the only one of the three that works, and it washes with water at the incoming cold-supply temperature.

If you have an outlet and want warm water, compare the two Advanced Clean seats on height and extras. The 3.0 is listed at 4-1/16 inches tall and 9.48 pounds and adds Premist, Air Shield and a seamless seat. The 2.5 is listed at 5-1/2 inches and 12.1 pounds and adds a night light. Both list five nozzle positions, a massage spray, a heated seat with five levels and a 104 to 131°F dryer.

Finally, look at cord length against your outlet: 47-1/4 inches for the 2.5 and 39 inches for the 3.0, per the sheets.

Spare parts AS lists

American Standard lists spare parts on each sheet, which helps when a seat needs service. The AquaWash Slim lists a T-valve, water supply hose, seat handle, nozzle tip set and seat mounting kit. The Advanced Clean 2.5 lists a mounting kit (760241-200.0070A) and bidet shield (760240-400.0070A), and the 3.0 lists a mounting kit (760287-401.0070A) and bidet shield (760351-200.0070A). Keep the model number with your records so the right part is ordered.
