Best TOTO Washlet

For most bathrooms, the TOTO Washlet S5 (SW3446) has the fullest feature list here: instantaneous warm water, PREMIST, EWATER+ and a four-user remote. Pick the S2 for an arm panel instead of a remote, the KS5 to skip PREMIST and EWATER+, or the C5 for a non-Washlet+ toilet at lower wattage. Check bowl shape and outlet access before you order.

All four spec sheets list the same spray volumes: 0.07 to 0.11 gallons per minute for rear cleansing and 0.08 to 0.11 for front cleansing. They also list an adjustable warm-water range of 95 to 104°F, a warm-air dryer adjustable from 95 to 140°F, a heated seat adjustable from 82 to 97°F, and a one-year limited warranty. So the real choices are controls, cleaning features, how the water is heated, and whether your toilet is a Washlet+ model.

Washlet or Washlet+? Check your toilet first

TOTO sells some toilets as Washlet+ models. As the C5 sheet’s warning describes, these have a hole on top of the bowl for routing the seat’s water hose and power cord out of sight. That matters when you choose a seat.

The C5 spec sheet (totousa.com) carries a warning that it is not Washlet+ compatible, and that routing its hose and cord through the hole on top of the bowl may damage the seat and leak. The S5 (totousa.com), S2 (totousa.com) and KS5 (totousa.com) sheets say they are compatible with Washlet+ and non-Washlet+ TOTO toilets, as well as most models from other makers.

Also check the bowl shape. Every seat here is the elongated version. TOTO sells round versions of some models under different numbers, and the C5 sheet notes it may not fit certain bowl designs. Our round vs elongated guide shows how to measure.

TOTO Washlet KS5 SW3216: warm water on demand, simpler cleaning

Choose the Washlet KS5 if you want continuous warm water and a remote with stored user settings, and do not need TOTO’s bowl-misting or electrolyzed-water features. The KS5 spec sheet (totousa.com) lists an instantaneous water heater, a self-cleaning wand, CLEAN RESIN, front and rear spray with an oscillating feature, adjustable spray position, temperature and pressure, a warm-air dryer with three temperature settings, a heated seat, a SoftClose seat, a night light and an auto energy saver mode. Its wireless remote stores settings for up to four users.

What it lacks next to the S models is PREMIST, which mists the bowl before use, and EWATER+, which cleans the wand with electrolyzed water. The KS5 sheet lists neither, and it lists one finish, #01 Cotton.

On October 17, 2026, the elongated SW3216#01 listing had no Add to Cart offer from Amazon.com; new offers from other sellers, including eFaucets, were listed under “See All Buying Options.” For a round bowl, the KS5 round seat, SW3215#01, showed stock sold by Amazon.com.

TOTO Washlet C5 SW3084: PREMIST and EWATER+ at lower wattage

Choose the Washlet C5 for a non-Washlet+ toilet when you want PREMIST and EWATER+ with a remote. The C5 spec sheet (totousa.com) lists a gentle aerated warm-water dual-action spray with oscillating and pulsating features, adjustable water temperature and volume, a warm-air dryer, an automatic air deodorizer, a slim wireless remote with an illuminated touchpad, a heated seat, EWATER+ wand cleaning and PREMIST.

The C5 sheet does not list an instantaneous water heater, and its power figures are much lower than the S and KS models: 403 W rated and 512 W maximum. Because it is not Washlet+ compatible, do not choose it for a TOTO toilet built for hidden Washlet+ hookups.

Its sheet is also not fully consistent: the feature list says the dryer has three temperature settings, while the written product specification says five. We do not rely on either number here.

On October 15, 2026, the standard new offer sold by Amazon.com showed stock with model SW3084#01.

TOTO Washlet S2 SW3346: S-series features with a side panel

Choose the Washlet S2 if you would rather press buttons on the seat than keep track of a remote. The S2 spec sheet (totousa.com) lists PREMIST, EWATER+, a self-cleaning wand, CLEAN RESIN, an instantaneous water heater, a warm-air dryer with three settings, an automatic air deodorizer, a heated seat, a SoftClose seat, a night light, an auto energy saver mode, and a convenient arm control panel.

The arm panel sits on the side of the seat. In a tight space next to a vanity or wall, check that you will be able to reach it comfortably.

On October 15, 2026, the standard new offer sold by Amazon.com showed limited stock with model SW3346#01.

TOTO Washlet S5 SW3446: the full S-series with a remote

Choose the Washlet S5 for the most complete set of features of these four. The S5 spec sheet (totousa.com) lists the S2’s cleaning and heating features, with a multifunction wireless remote that stores settings for up to four users instead of the arm panel.

The S5 drawing shows an overall seat length of 21 inches, a width of 15-1/16 inches and an open-lid height of 24-3/8 inches. It also notes a GFCI outlet of 120 V, 15 amps, and a three-prong power cord about 4 feet long. The spec table lists 1271 W of power consumption and 1426 W maximum.

Instantaneous heating vs the C5

The S2, S5 and KS5 sheets list an instantaneous water heater, which TOTO describes as giving continuous warm water and saving energy. Those three seats list roughly 1,270 W of power consumption.

The C5 sheet lists no instantaneous heater and only 403 W. The C5 sheet does not say how its water is heated, so we make no claim about how long its warm water lasts. If continuous warm water matters most, the three seats that list an instantaneous heater are the clear match to TOTO’s own description. If lower listed power draw matters more, the C5 is the option here.

All four sheets list the same water-pressure window: 7.25 psi minimum while flowing and 108.75 psi maximum static. If your home’s pressure runs above that, our pressure-reducing valve guide explains the valve that controls house pressure.

Power: plan the outlet before you buy

Every Washlet here plugs into a 120 V outlet. The cords are short: the spec sheets list 3.9 feet for the S2, S5 and KS5 and 3.93 feet for the C5. TOTO highly recommends a surge protector on all four sheets, and the S5 drawing calls out a GFCI outlet of 120 V, 15 amps.

Look beside the toilet before you order and measure from the back of the toilet to the nearest outlet. TOTO’s installation guide says to plug the power cord all the way into the wall socket and not to use the seat with a damaged or loose power connection. If there is no outlet within reach, adding one is a job for an electrician.

TOTO’s S5/S2 installation guide (totousa.com) also warns against placing the power connection directly beneath a water supply line, so a drip cannot reach it.

Water hookup and installation

Each sheet says the seat includes its power cord and water supply hoses. TOTO publishes an installation guide for each model; follow the one for your exact seat. The S5/S2 guide (totousa.com) also notes that some bowls need a cover piece installed, so read its bowl-type step before you start.

The sheets say the seats are for potable water only and should not be used with recycled water.

Shut off the toilet’s stop valve before you start. If the old stop is stiff or leaks, replace it first; our shutoff valve guide covers options. Our bidet seat guide compares TOTO with other brands if you are still choosing between makers.

How we chose

This document-based guide makes no hands-on testing claim. We read TOTO’s spec sheets for the KS5 SW3216, C5 SW3084, S2 SW3346 and S5 SW3446, inspected the C5 and S5 dimension drawings, and read the safety notes in the S5/S2 installation guide. On October 15, 2026, all four linked standard new offers were sold by Amazon.com and showed stock. Powered seats from third-party sellers were not linked.
