A shower system pairs a fixed head with a hand shower, a slide bar and a diverter. The big difference among these four is the valve: the Retro-Fit uses the valve you already have, the Euphoria brings its own exposed thermostatic mixer, and the two Cosmopolitan sets come with a new in-wall pressure balance valve. Grohe’s product pages for the Retro-Fit and Euphoria list a limited lifetime warranty.
Grohe Retro-Fit 210 26123001: no new valve needed
Choose the Retro-Fit 210 to add a rain head and a hand shower without opening the wall. Grohe’s product page (grohe.us) says it turns a standard shower into a multifunction shower using existing plumbing. Grohe’s spec sheet (lixil.cdn.celum.cloud) lists a wall-mounted diverter shower system with a built-in diverter, six diverter functions, a 17-11/16-inch Rainshower arm that can be fixed or swivel, an adjustable-height bar with a gliding holder, a 59-inch metal hose, a Tempesta 210 rain head at 1.75 gpm, a Tempesta 100 hand shower with rain and jet sprays at 1.75 gpm, and an angle adapter to keep the hose off the shower valve. The overall height is 32-9/16 inches.

Grohe Euphoria 260 CoolTouch 26128002: thermostatic, exposed
Choose the Euphoria 260 if you want a thermostatic mixer you can set and leave. Grohe’s spec sheet (lixil.cdn.celum.cloud) lists an exposed thermostatic control with a TurboStat cartridge, a SafeStop button at 100°F and an included optional SafeStop Plus limiter at 110°F, a CoolTouch body, a 17-3/4-inch horizontal swivel arm, a built-in diverter, an adjustable hand shower holder on the bar, a 69-inch RotaFlex metal hose, a Euphoria 260 head with three sprays (Rain, SmartRain and Jet) and a Euphoria 110 hand shower with three sprays, both at 1.75 gpm. The overall height is 43-15/16 inches.

Choose the Cosmopolitan 29428000 for a full remodel with a large rain head; Amazon lists it as a 10-inch head. Choose the Cosmopolitan 29429000 for the same valve package with a smaller four-spray head. Grohe’s spec sheet (lixil.cdn.celum.cloud) lists the same 29434 trim and 35117 GrohSafe 3.0 rough valve, a Tempesta Cosmopolitan 100 head with four sprays at 1.75 gpm (26043), a 6-1/4-inch Relexa arm (27412), the 24-inch bar, RotaFlex hose, two-spray hand shower and wall union. The shorter arm keeps the head closer to the wall.

Diverters and spray functions in plain terms
Every system here has a diverter that sends water to the fixed head, the hand shower or, on some, both at once. Grohe lists six diverter functions on the Retro-Fit: two that run one outlet on its own and one shared setting, each in a standard and an Eco flow. The Euphoria lists two separate functions, head or hand shower.
The Cosmopolitan sets put a 2-way diverter in the valve trim (29434) and in the GrohSafe rough valve. The spray names, such as Rain, Jet and SmartRain, are Grohe’s own; the sheets do not define them further, so we do not either. If you want both outlets running at the same time, the Retro-Fit’s shared function is the only one of the four that the sheets describe that way.
Check these before you order
- Your valve. The Retro-Fit works with the valve you have; the Euphoria needs hot and cold supplies for its exposed mixer; the Cosmopolitan sets include a new rough valve, which means opening the wall.
- Height. The Retro-Fit is 32-9/16 inches tall and the Euphoria 43-15/16 inches; measure from the valve or supplies to the ceiling.
- Arm length. Arms run from 6-1/4 inches (29429000) to 17-3/4 inches (Euphoria); a long arm needs headroom and a clear swing.
- Flow. Every head and hand shower here is listed at 1.75 gpm.
- Install. Grohe says to install each product according to its installation guide.
Which Grohe shower system should you buy?
If you do not want to open the wall, the Retro-Fit 210 adds a rain head and hand shower on the valve you already have. If you are replacing supplies anyway and want a set-it thermostat, the Euphoria 260 gives you that with a 100°F stop button. If you are doing a full remodel with new in-wall plumbing, the two Cosmopolitan sets bring the valve, trim, bar and heads in one box; pick the 29428000 for a rain head on a long arm or the 29429000 for a four-spray head close to the wall.
