Compare the controls, holes and outlet height
On a phone, swipe or scroll the table sideways to see every column.
| Exact checked model | Control / side spray | With-spray hole plan | Drawn reach / outlet / total height |
|---|---|---|---|
| P199152LF Precept | Single lever / included | 2 without long plate; 4 with plate | 7-5/8 / 8-3/4 / 14 |
| P2865LF Elmhurst | Two levers / included | 4 holes; 8-inch main inlet centers | 8 / 6-5/8 / 11-1/2 |
The Precept specification (media.peerlessfaucet.com) and Elmhurst specification (media.peerlessfaucet.com) show these dimensions and mounting arrangements. Both list ceramic cartridges, a 360-degree rotating spout and a maximum spout flow of 1.5 GPM at 60 psi. This spout rating is not a separately verified side-sprayer flow rate.
The drawings are important here. Precept’s web reach is 7-9/16 inches, while its drawing marks 7-5/8. Elmhurst’s web total-height field says 3-1/2 inches, while its drawing marks 11-1/2. This table uses the labeled drawings; confirm the actual faucet before relying on a tight clearance.
Precept P199152LF: single lever and separate sprayer
Choose Peerless Precept P199152LF if you want one mixing lever, a higher outlet and a separate side sprayer. The maker page (peerlessfaucet.com) identifies the Chrome model, included coordinating sprayer and ceramic valve.
The drawing shows a 14-inch overall spout height and an 8-3/4-inch deck-to-aerator height. Compare both with your sink area: the first concerns the top of the arc, while the second locates the outlet. Neither dimension describes how much room is available below the outlet after a tall item is placed inside your particular bowl.
The specification includes an optional escutcheon plate and a diverter cap for alternative hole applications. With the sprayer retained, plan for the faucet opening plus a separate sprayer opening, or the three-hole plate layout plus that extra sprayer hole.
Skip it if you require two separate hot and cold handles, cannot accommodate its full arc, or have no suitable place for the side sprayer you intend to use. Do not interpret the advertised one-hole option as a side sprayer mounted through the faucet’s own opening.
The new Amazon.com offer checked on October 15, 2026 showed stock and an add-to-cart button. Both its model and manufacturer part number matched P199152LF, with Chrome selected.

Elmhurst P2865LF: two handles on an 8-inch layout
Choose Peerless Elmhurst P2865LF for two lever controls and the documented four-hole arrangement with side spray. The current maker page (peerlessfaucet.com) identifies the exact Chrome model and includes a side sprayer.
Its specification drawing (media.peerlessfaucet.com) marks 8-inch main inlet centers, an 8-inch reach, a 6-5/8-inch outlet height and an 11-1/2-inch total height. That provides a lower outlet than Precept in these documents. It does not establish which faucet will splash less in your sink.
Check the full layout, including the middle position and the sprayer opening. The 8-inch centers describe the main inlet spacing, not every interval between the four holes. Also compare the base with the available flat mounting surface. Elmhurst’s drawing marks a 13-1/4-inch overall handle span; its 8-inch inlet centers are not the complete width of the controls.
Skip it if you have only one or two usable deck openings, want a single mixing lever, or need the taller outlet position documented for Precept. A long cover plate cannot create missing openings for this faucet’s connections.
The new Amazon.com offer checked on October 15, 2026 showed stock and an add-to-cart button. The full model and manufacturer part number were P2865LF, with Chrome selected. A similarly named wall-mount Elmhurst is a different configuration and is not this pick.

Read the one-to-four-hole options correctly
Peerless advertises Precept for one, two, three or four holes. Its drawing (media.peerlessfaucet.com) and installation sheet (media.peerlessfaucet.com) distinguish the small single-hole base from the long three-hole escutcheon, and the sprayer is a separate component.
For the complete faucet-and-sprayer arrangement, count the sprayer opening in addition to the faucet base arrangement. One or three holes describe an alternative without the side sprayer, using the maker’s specified diverter-cap configuration. This guide does not provide a cap-installation procedure.
Elmhurst’s exact specification is four-hole, with 8-inch main inlet centers. Its family installation sheet also illustrates models without spray. Do not transfer that generic illustration into a claim that the checked P2865LF offer is a documented three-hole alternative.
Record the hole diameters and center positions before ordering either faucet. Compare them with the exact drawing and your sink or counter information. Our broader kitchen faucet guide can help if the available openings call for a different format.
Compare reach, arc height and rear clearance
Use a tape measure to locate your current outlet relative to the bowl. Compare that position with the new drawing’s reach and outlet height. A taller spout does not automatically place the stream farther into the bowl, and reach is not measured along the curved metal tube.
The Precept drawing’s 7-5/8-inch reach differs by 1/16 inch from the maker web table. We have not established the reason for that difference. Do not use that small distinction as a precise fit advantage over another faucet or a reason to assume an exact landing point without checking the actual product.
Elmhurst’s conflicting web height field is not used as an overhead-clearance measurement here. Its drawing labels the whole arc at 11-1/2 inches and the outlet separately. Keep the current sheet with your measurements if a sill or cabinet over the sink makes the top clearance close.
Precept’s drawing recommends a minimum 2-1/2 inches from the faucet centerline to the backsplash. That is a centerline reference, not a 2-1/2-inch free gap measured from the back of the faucet body. That is the maker’s planning recommendation, not a measured guarantee for every handle position and wall shape. Confirm the full lever movement and access around the sprayer support.
Check the supplies and usable under-sink space
The Precept sheet (media.peerlessfaucet.com) specifies braided flexible supply hoses with 3/8-inch compression fittings. The Elmhurst sheet (media.peerlessfaucet.com) specifies 1/2-inch-14 NPSM male inlet shanks, and its manual (media.peerlessfaucet.com) says supply hook-ups are not provided.
Those are different connection arrangements. A side-spray hose is not a substitute for the hot and cold supply connections. Check your existing connections and any additional parts against the delivered faucet instructions before starting a replacement.
Both drawings label a maximum deck thickness of 1-1/2 inches. Check the complete mounting stack where the faucet attaches, including any material under the finished counter. Do not treat an exposed thread length in the drawing as a larger permitted deck thickness.
Allow a clear route for the separate spray hose around the other items under the sink. We have not measured usable pull-out travel for either side sprayer. Neither pick should be described as having a guaranteed hose reach simply because an overall part length appears elsewhere in a listing.
Keep the right service record and care sheet
The Precept parts diagram (media.peerlessfaucet.com) separates cartridge and diverter choices by the faucet code printed on the back of the body. Keep that code as well as P199152LF if you later need service parts. A matching finish and product name do not identify every internal revision.
The Elmhurst diagram (media.peerlessfaucet.com) identifies separate hot-side and cold-side cartridge assemblies and its own spray assembly. Do not buy Precept service parts for Elmhurst simply because both faucets have a ceramic valve and side sprayer.
Both linked Precept (media.peerlessfaucet.com) and Elmhurst care sheets (media.peerlessfaucet.com) say to wipe gently with a damp cloth and dry with a soft towel. They warn that harsh abrasives and polish can damage the finish. This guide does not prescribe acid soaking, cartridge disassembly or a universal tightening method.
If you are also changing the sink, compare the faucet layout with the sink’s actual deck and bowl geometry. Our kitchen sink guide is a starting point for that choice. A sink and faucet from separate catalogues still need their dimensions checked together.
Frequently asked questions
Which checked Peerless faucet uses one handle?
Precept P199152LF uses one mixing lever. Elmhurst P2865LF uses two handles. Both checked Chrome offers include a separate side sprayer.
Can I use Precept and its sprayer through one hole?
The side sprayer uses a separate opening. The maker’s one-hole alternative is a different configuration without the side sprayer, using the specified diverter cap.
Does Elmhurst P2865LF use a wall connection?
No. This checked P2865LF is a four-hole deck-mount model with 8-inch main inlet centers. A wall-mount Elmhurst model is a separate configuration.
Is Precept’s deck plate sold separately?
Its linked specification lists the optional escutcheon as included. That statement applies to P199152LF; do not transfer the package contents from another Peerless model.
Do both faucets include the same supply connections?
No. Precept’s sheet lists flexible hoses with 3/8-inch compression fittings. Elmhurst lists 1/2-inch-14 NPSM male shanks, and its manual says supply hook-ups are not provided.
How we chose
We read both current model pages, downloaded the linked specification, parts and installation files, and inspected the two specification drawings, two parts diagrams and the mounting and care pages in both manuals. We used the labeled drawings while disclosing conflicting web geometry fields. We checked exact new Amazon.com offers on October 15, 2026 for model and part number, Chrome selection, stock and cart availability. No splash, pressure, spray-force, valve-life or finish testing was performed. Read our selection method and about Plumbing Picks.
