Moen Camerist 7545SRS: pause as you cross the counter
Choose the Camerist for a pull-out with a pause feature. Moen’s spec sheet (maker page: assets.moen.com/shared/docs/product-specifications/7545sp.pdf) says the flow pauses as the wand passes over the countertop when you fill a pot outside the sink. The current version (Rev. 10/13) lists metal construction, quick-connect installation, a 59-inch braided hose, 3/8-inch compression supplies, a 1255 Duralast cartridge and a 1.5 gpm flow at 60 psi.
It installs through 1 or 3 holes of 1-1/2 inches with a 1-1/2-inch maximum deck. The same PDF includes an older version (Rev. 8/13) with a 1225 cartridge and 2.2 gpm flow, so check the date code before buying parts for an existing Camerist. The warranty is lifetime against leaks, drips and finish defects to the original consumer purchaser, 5 years commercial. American Standard Colony Pro 7074100: two sprays, memory position
Choose the Colony Pro for a basic pull-out with a memory-position handle. American Standard’s spec sheet (lixil.cdn.celum.cloud) lists a metal swivel body, handle and deck plate, a pull-out sprayer with two spray functions on a nylon hose, a washerless 40 mm ceramic disc cartridge, and 24-inch braided stainless supply hoses with 3/8-inch compression connections.
It lists memory position valving, so you can turn the faucet on and off at the same temperature without moving the handle, a 1.5 gpm maximum flow, a 9.7-inch height, and a 1-3/8 to 1-1/2-inch mounting hole, with or without the supplied escutcheon plate. Pull-out or pull-down?
The spout shape is the main difference. All three faucets here have a low, forward-reaching spout and a head that pulls toward you. Moen’s drawings show a 9-9/10-inch overall height for the Sombra and 10-7/8 inches for the Camerist; American Standard lists 9.7 inches for the Colony Pro. Measure from the deck to any shelf or window sill before you choose.
Handle and spray controls
Both Moen sheets list a lever handle that sets temperature across a 100-degree arc, 120-degree spout rotation, less than 5 pounds of force to operate, and stream or spray mode whether the wand is pulled out or docked. Both carry the ADA symbol for the lever handle. American Standard lists two spray functions on the Colony Pro, switching from stream to spray, and says the faucet meets ADA guidelines and ANSI A117.1.
The Camerist adds the pause feature described above; the Sombra lists Moen’s Power Clean spray. If you mostly rinse dishes, compare the spray modes; if you fill large pots, the Camerist’s pause may matter more.
Holes and deck thickness
Count your sink or counter holes. The Sombra lists 1 to 4 holes, so it can cover an old faucet’s layout without a separate plate. The Camerist and Colony Pro list 1 or 3 holes, with a deck plate for the 3-hole layout. Check deck thickness too: Moen lists 2-1/2 inches maximum for the Sombra and 1-1/2 inches for the Camerist; American Standard does not list a maximum on its sheet. Cartridges and repairs
Both Moen faucets list the 1255 Duralast cartridge in their current versions; American Standard lists a 40 mm ceramic disc cartridge. If a single-handle faucet starts to drip or the handle gets stiff, the cartridge is usually the part to replace; see our faucet cartridge guide.
Installing a pull-out faucet
Shut off both supply stops and open the old faucet to release pressure before you start. The Moen Sombra and Camerist list flexible supplies with 3/8-inch compression fittings, and the Colony Pro lists 24-inch braided stainless supply hoses with 3/8-inch compression connections, so check that your shutoff valves have 3/8-inch compression outlets. The Camerist sheet lists quick-connect installation for the spray hose. Leave room under the sink for the hose to move freely when the head is pulled out.
