Best RV Outdoor Shower

To add or replace an RV outdoor shower, the Dura DF-SA188 spray dock kit gives a compact rinse point with a 15-foot coil hose, the DF-SA180 replaces a broken exterior faucet, and the DF-SA187 replaces a worn sprayer and hose. Match the quick connector to the part you are keeping, since connectors are not universal.

An RV outdoor shower, also called an exterior shower or spray port, lets you rinse off sand, mud, dogs, bikes and gear outside instead of tracking it into the camper. Many RVs come with one in a small compartment on the side. When yours breaks, you usually replace the part, not the whole system: the faucet or valve, the quick-connect dock, or the sprayer and hose.

Dura DF-SA188: spray dock kit

Choose the Dura DF-SA188 if you want a compact rinse point. Dura’s 2026 catalog (durafaucet.com) lists the RV Exterior Quick Spray Dock Kit with a spray dock and quick connector, a multi-spray nozzle and a 15-foot coil hose, for a 2.65-inch round mount cutout with outside dimensions of 3.875 inches round by 3.1 inches deep, in black or white.

On October 15, 2026, the standard new offer from a third-party seller showed stock with model DF-SA188-BK.

Dura DF-SA180: exterior quick-connect faucet

Choose the Dura DF-SA180 to replace a broken exterior shower valve. Dura lists (durafaucet.com) the RV Exterior Shower Faucet as a non-metallic quick-connector faucet, used with its DF-SA183 modular hose kit or DF-SA187 sprayer, in black or white. The quick connector lets you snap the hose or sprayer on and off, so you can store it inside when you are not using it.

Dura DF-SA187: quick-connect sprayer

Choose the Dura DF-SA187 to replace a worn sprayer and hose. Dura lists (durafaucet.com) the RV Exterior Spray Faucet Kit with a multi-spray nozzle and a coil hose with a quick connector, for use with its DF-SA180, DF-SA184 or DF-SA185 exterior faucets and docks, in white/blue or black.

Match the quick connector

Quick connectors may not be interchangeable across brands. Dura lists which of its sprayers fit which of its faucets and docks, such as the DF-SA187 sprayer with the DF-SA180, DF-SA184 or DF-SA185. If you are replacing only the sprayer or only the faucet, check the brand of the part you are keeping and buy a matching connector. When in doubt, replace the faucet and sprayer together so they are sure to fit.

Spray box kits for a full replacement

If the old compartment is cracked or you are adding an outdoor shower from scratch, a spray box kit includes the recessed box, the faucet and the sprayer together. Dura’s catalog lists the DF-SA189 RV Exterior Quick Connect Spray Box Kit with a spray box and faucet with a quick connector, a multi-spray nozzle and a 15-foot coil hose, for a 7.375 by 4.125-inch mount cutout with outside dimensions of 8.875 by 5.625 by 4.125 inches. Measure your existing opening against those numbers before you order a box.

Gooseneck and bar-style exterior faucets

Not every exterior faucet is for showering. Dura also lists an exterior modular hose kit with a quick-connector faucet (DF-SA183K) and an exterior quick-connect bar faucet with a brass spout (DF-SA186) for filling buckets and washing dishes at an outdoor kitchen. If you mostly rinse gear and fill containers, a spout may be more useful than a shower sprayer.

Compartment doors and locks

The small door on an exterior shower compartment can crack after years of sun, and the latch can wear out or break. Dura’s catalog lists a replacement exterior shower box door with a lock and keys for its own boxes. A locking door keeps the sprayer from being taken at a campground and keeps road grime out of the quick connector.

Cutting a new opening in the RV wall

Adding an outdoor shower where there was none means cutting the RV’s exterior wall, running hot and cold supply lines to the spot, and sealing the opening so water cannot get into the wall. Dura lists exact cutout sizes, such as the 2.65-inch round cutout for the DF-SA188, and outside dimensions so you can plan the location. Use the gasket and sealant the instructions call for, check what is inside the wall before you cut, and if you are not comfortable cutting into the RV, have an RV technician do it.

Hot water outside

Many RV exterior showers mix hot and cold water, which is nice for a warm rinse but draws from the RV’s small water heater. Keep outdoor showers short, and turn the faucet off fully when you are done so it does not drip into the compartment. If the outdoor shower runs only cold, check whether your model has a hot supply and whether the water heater is on.

Winterizing the outdoor shower

Exterior showers are the most exposed part of the RV plumbing. Before freezing weather, drain the water system, open the exterior faucet on both hot and cold, remove the sprayer and hose and store them inside, and follow your RV maker’s winterizing steps. Our winterizing checklist covers draining low points, and our outdoor faucet winterizing guide covers similar steps for home outdoor faucets.

Using the outdoor shower

Use the multi-spray nozzle’s gentle setting for people and pets and a stronger setting for gear and bikes. Rinse sandy feet before going inside to keep the gray tank and floor cleaner. When you are done, let the hose drain, coil it back into the compartment or store it inside, and close the compartment door so the quick connector stays clean.

More RV plumbing

Keep the part numbers of your exterior faucet, sprayer and box with your RV paperwork so you can order matching parts quickly when something wears out on the road. For the indoor shower, see our RV shower faucet guide and RV shower head guide. For the galley and bathroom sinks, our RV kitchen faucet and RV bathroom faucet guides cover those fixtures.
