Best RV Shower Head

For most RVs, the Oxygenics BodySpa RV gives a strong spray at 1.8 gpm with a SmartPause valve that cuts flow to a trickle while you lather; the Oxygenics Fury RV adds five settings and a 72-inch hose. A simple Camco kit with an on/off switch is a basic alternative.

An RV shower runs on a limited fresh-water tank and a 12-volt pump, or on a campground hookup. That changes what matters: you want a head that feels strong at modest flow and a way to stop the water while you lather, so the tank lasts. All three picks are handheld showers with a control on the handle for exactly that.

Oxygenics BodySpa RV: SmartPause and a strong spray

Choose the Oxygenics BodySpa RV for the best balance of spray feel and water saving. Oxygenics lists (oxygenics.com) an Oxygenics setting it says amplifies existing water pressure and widens coverage, a push-button control, a SmartPause valve that cuts the flow to a trickle to stretch the RV’s tank, non-stick internal parts to prevent mineral buildup and clogging, a 60-inch hose, 1.8 gpm, and a limited lifetime warranty against clogging or performance failures. Oxygenics lists the 26488 in brushed nickel and the 26788 in white.

Oxygenics Fury RV 92189: five settings, long hose

Oxygenics lists (oxygenics.com) five spray settings, including its Oxygenics, WideStream, Massage and FocusStream patterns, a flow-control lever, non-slip rubber grips, a 72-inch hose, 1.8 gpm, and plumber’s tape, a wall mount and the hose in the box. Oxygenics lists the 92189 in chrome.

Camco 43713: a basic kit with an on/off switch

Choose the Camco 43713 for a simple, inexpensive replacement. The listing describes an RV shower head kit with an on/off switch and a 60-inch flexible hose in chrome; Camco’s current website does not publish a spec page for it, so we describe it from the listing.

On October 15, 2026, the standard new offer sold by Amazon.com showed 16 left with model 43713.

Why RV showers need a pause or on/off control

A typical RV fresh tank holds a limited amount of water, and the gray tank fills just as fast. Stopping the water while you soap up is the simplest way to make a tank last. Oxygenics’ SmartPause drops the flow to a trickle so the water stays warm, while an on/off switch like Camco’s stops it fully. A trickle helps keep the water near the same temperature; a full stop saves slightly more water but can bring a burst of colder or hotter water when you restart.

RV water pressure and flow

RV pumps and campground hookups vary. Many RVers use a pressure regulator on the city water hookup to protect the RV’s plumbing; our water pressure regulator guide covers regulators. Oxygenics designs its RV heads to perform within tank size and pressure limits, according to Oxygenics.

Do not remove flow restrictors to chase pressure in an RV; it drains the tank and the water heater faster. Our high-pressure shower head guide covers heads that feel strong at lower flow.

Handheld or fixed in an RV?

Most RV showers use a handheld on a hose because RV showers are small and low. A handheld lets you rinse without crouching under a fixed head, makes it easy to wash pets or muddy boots, and lets you aim the water so less is wasted. If your RV has a fixed head, the Oxygenics Fury RV includes a wall mount so you can hang the handheld at a set height when you want to use it like a fixed head.

Finishes and hose length

Match the shower to the rest of the bathroom fixtures. Oxygenics lists the BodySpa RV in brushed nickel, white, chrome and matte black variations, and the Fury RV in white, brushed nickel and chrome. Measure from the shower connection to the far corner of the shower: a 60-inch hose is enough for many RV stalls, and the Fury’s 72-inch hose helps in a tub-shower combo or for rinsing the whole stall after a muddy day.

Cleaning mineral buildup

Campground water can be hard, and scale clogs spray holes quickly. Oxygenics says the BodySpa RV uses non-stick internal parts to prevent mineral buildup and clogging, and the Fury RV uses internal components designed to prevent clogging or corrosion. Even so, rub the rubber nozzles now and then and soak the head in vinegar if the spray weakens, following the maker’s care instructions for the finish.

Installing an RV handheld shower

Most RV showers use a standard 1/2-inch threaded connection at the wall or shower arm. Unscrew the old hose or head, clean the threads, wrap them clockwise with thread seal tape, and thread on the new hose by hand. Mount the holder where it is easy to reach, and run the water to check for drips. Oxygenics includes plumber’s tape and a wall mount with the Fury RV. Our thread seal tape guide covers tape.

Hot water in an RV

Many RV water heaters hold only a few gallons, so a lower-flow head and a pause valve help the hot water last through a shower. If you are upgrading the heater itself, our RV tankless water heater guide covers on-demand options.

Winterizing the shower

Before freezing weather, drain the RV’s water system and the shower hose. Detach the handheld and hang the hose so it drains, and leave the shower valve open during winterizing so trapped water can escape. Our winterizing checklist covers the steps for home plumbing, and the same idea of draining low points applies in an RV.
