To re-hang an Elkay undermount sink, the Elkay LKUCLIP8 is a set of eight undermount bracket clips. For an Elkay drop-in sink that uses a U-channel under the rim, the Elkay LK363 kit has the screws and clips that pull the rim down tight, 14 pieces in all. Match the clip to your sink’s rim or channel and to how it fastens to the countertop; other brands may need their own parts.

Start with the sink model and the complete mounting arrangement. A clip that looks similar in a photo may engage a different channel or need another type of counter attachment.
Identify the mounting system before buying clips
| Sink arrangement | What to identify | What a clip label does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Undermount | Sink flange, approved counter attachment and support system | Anchor or adhesive compatibility with every countertop |
| Drop-in U-channel | Channel profile, clip engagement and screw reach | Fit in an I-channel or J-bracket system |
| Drop-in I-channel or J-bracket | Exact maker-specific attachment | Interchangeability with another familiar-looking clip |
Find the sink model and its current installation instructions first. A replacement clip should fit a known mounting system, not be used to invent one.
Elkay LKUCLIP8: an undermount bracket set
Choose LKUCLIP8 only when the exact sink and countertop installation calls for it. Elkay’s Dayton catalog (elkay.com) identifies a set of eight undermount clips for attachment to a solid-surface countertop.
Skip it for a drop-in channel or an unconfirmed anchor arrangement. Eight clips in the package does not establish the required clip count, spacing or load capacity for every sink.
The checked standard new Amazon.com offer showed stock with LKUCLIP8 in both the model and manufacturer-part fields. Confirm which other mounting components the actual installation requires; a bracket set should not be assumed to include every anchor, support or adhesive.

Elkay LK363: a separate drop-in U-channel kit
Choose LK363 for a confirmed compatible top-mount U-channel sink. The maker’s catalog identifies a set of fourteen extra-long screws and clips for that attachment, with a stated countertop-thickness limit of 1-1/2 inches.
Skip it for an undermount sink, another channel type or an installation beyond the confirmed reach. A longer screw does not convert one mounting system into another.
The checked standard new Amazon offer showed stock from Faucets and More, with LK363 in the model and part fields. Do not confuse LK363 with LK364, a separately identified screws-only product, or a generic listing saying only “for Elkay.”
Obtain the current sink-specific instructions and verify the complete dimensions before ordering replacements for an older installation.

Undermount brackets, anchors and supports have different jobs
An undermount arrangement can include a bracket at the sink flange, a fastener connection to the countertop and other required sink support. Identify all parts of the specified assembly.
The Houzer undermount instructions (houzersink.com) illustrate a sink bracket and countertop fastener separately from the silicone at the sink-to-counter joint. They also say the correct fastener depends on the countertop material and should be selected with the installer or supplier.
Do not treat the illustrated Houzer system as an instruction to install the Elkay bracket kit in the same way. It demonstrates why the complete sink and counter system matters.
Where a support rail or cabinet-supported system is specified, confirm that exact system and its attachment. A loose clip or a bead of sealant does not independently establish an equivalent support arrangement.
Drop-in clips need the correct channel profile
The Houzer top-mount instructions (houzersink.com) distinguish I-channel, U-channel and J-bracket systems. The diagrams show different engagement arrangements rather than one universal clip.
Before replacing a clip, inspect the actual attachment under the sink rim and compare it with the model’s parts information. Keep a sample and clear photos if the original part cannot be identified immediately.
Check whether the channel or bracket itself is damaged. A new screw cannot correct a broken mounting feature, and forcing an unrelated clip into place can create another problem.
Use the maker’s specified installation and tightening sequence. There is no universal torque or screw length that applies to every clip pictured in this guide.
Countertop thickness is only one fit measurement
Measure the actual thickness where the clip bears, including the relevant build-up or edge arrangement. Do not choose screw reach from the visible edge profile alone.
Also check flange position, channel clearance, space for the clip to rotate or engage and access for the required tool. A clip can reach the counter yet still fail to seat correctly.
Record any nearby cabinet rail, bowl, faucet hardware or plumbing that limits access. These details can explain why a nominally suitable kit cannot be installed as intended.
Do not change the countertop or sink mounting features to make an unconfirmed clip fit. Have the counter fabricator or sink maker identify the appropriate solution for the actual materials.
Silicone and epoxy are not a generic substitute for hardware
Identify what each material does in the specified installation. Sealant at the sink edge, an adhesive anchor pad and a mechanical bracket are different parts of an assembly.
Our undermount sink adhesive guide covers the related adhesive decision. Use only the combination and preparation approved for the sink, countertop and anchor system.
Do not remove required support because a product is described as strong, waterproof or intended for stone. Nor should an unrelated epoxy be assumed compatible with a particular pad, insert or counter finish.
Follow the exact adhesive’s application and cure requirements before the assembly is loaded or returned to service. A familiar label color does not establish the correct cure schedule.
A loose sink needs a complete mounting assessment
If a sink is moving, separating from the counter or supported by loose components, stop loading it and arrange an appropriate assessment. Keep clear of an unsupported bowl.
Identify the cause before simply replacing the most visible missing clip. The issue may involve an anchor, damaged substrate, mounting channel, failed support or a combination of parts.
Have the sink safely supported and the plumbing considered before mounting components are removed. Drain or supply connections should not be treated as structural support.
Do not use this guide as a procedure for removing a sink overhead or drilling stone from below. Those tasks depend on the actual assembly, equipment and safe access.
Keep the mounting record with the sink
Save the sink model, clip-kit number, countertop material, approved attachment method and installation instructions together. Include any required adhesive and support-system identifiers.
For a new sink, check the supplied hardware before ordering an additional kit. Some sinks include clips, while the countertop fasteners or other installation materials may still require separate selection.
For a replacement sink, compare the whole mounting arrangement rather than assuming the old hardware can be reused. Our undermount versus drop-in guide covers the broader installation choice.
Finally, confirm the completed assembly according to its instructions before normal use. A successful parts order is only one step toward a properly supported and sealed sink.
Frequently asked questions
Are undermount and drop-in clips interchangeable?
Do not assume so. Match the sink flange or channel, counter attachment and exact maker instructions.
Will any long screw make a drop-in clip fit a thicker counter?
No. Screw reach is only one requirement. The channel, clip engagement, thickness limit and remaining clearances must all be confirmed.
Does a pack of eight undermount clips establish how many I need?
No. Package quantity is not a universal installation count. Use the exact sink and mounting-system instructions.
Can silicone replace required sink clips or support?
Use the complete specified mounting system. Sealant at the sink edge does not independently establish a suitable replacement for mechanical attachment or support.
Can plumbing pipes support a loose sink?
Do not treat drain or supply connections as structural support. Have a loose or separating sink safely assessed before further loading or mounting work.
How we chose
This document-based guide makes no hands-on testing claim. We checked Elkay maker catalog descriptions and Houzer’s current publicly linked undermount and top-mount instruction diagrams. On October 14, 2026, both linked standard new Amazon offers showed stock with matching model and part fields. The Houzer examples explain system differences; they do not establish cross-brand clip interchangeability. Confirm current sink-specific hardware and instructions.
