Chrome is a bright, mirror-like plated finish. On the American Standard sheets it is the 002 finish code; Moen lists the Essie 87014 as chrome. If your other fixtures are chrome, matching the finish code keeps them consistent. For other finishes, see our brushed nickel, black and brass kitchen faucet guides.

Moen Essie 87014: chrome pull-down with soap dispenser

Choose the Essie for a chrome pull-down with Moen’s Reflex docking and a soap dispenser. Moen’s spec sheet (maker page: assets.moen.com/shared/docs/product-specifications/87014sp.pdf) lists the Reflex pull-down system, metal construction, Duralock quick connect installation, a 68-inch braided hose, 3/8-inch compression supply lines, a 360-degree spout, a lever handle and a 1255 Duralast cartridge.

It lists a 1.5 gpm flow at 60 psi, a pause feature when you fill a pot outside the sink, a 15-3/4-inch height and a 2-1/2-inch maximum deck. It installs through one 1-1/2-inch hole plus one hole for the soap dispenser, with a 10-1/4-inch escutcheon. The warranty is lifetime against leaks, drips and finish defects to the original consumer purchaser, 5 years commercial. American Standard Colony Pro 7074040.002: low spout, side spray

Choose the Colony Pro 7074040 to replace an older faucet with a separate side spray. American Standard’s spec sheet (lixil.cdn.celum.cloud) lists the 7074.040 as the version with side spray and deck plate, with an 8-1/2-inch brass swivel spout that rotates 360 degrees, a metal lever handle, integrated 24-inch color-coded stainless supply lines with 3/8-inch compression connections and a 1.5 gpm maximum flow.

It lists memory position valving, a 6-1/2-inch height, a 10-3/8-inch deck plate over 1-3/8 to 1-1/2-inch holes on 8-inch spread, and a side spray with a 2-1/8-inch maximum deck. Pull-down or low spout?

The Essie and Raviv are tall pull-down faucets, 15-3/4 and 17-1/16 inches high. The Colony Pro is a low spout, 6-1/2 inches high, with the spray in a separate holder on the deck. A low spout can fit where a window or shelf limits height; a pull-down puts the spray in the faucet head. Measure the clearance above your sink before choosing. For more on pull-downs, see our pull-down kitchen faucet guide, and for side sprays, our kitchen faucet sprayer guide.

Holes and deck plates

Count the holes in your sink. The Essie uses one hole for the faucet and one for its soap dispenser. The Raviv uses one hole and includes a deck plate that covers 1 to 4 holes. The Colony Pro 7074040 uses a 10-3/8-inch deck plate over three holes plus a fourth for the side spray.

American Standard notes on the sheet that the Colony Pro can install in one hole in other configurations; the 7074.040 version is the one with side spray and deck plate. If you have an extra hole, a soap dispenser can fill it; see our soap dispenser guide.

Spray and docking

Each faucet handles the spray differently. Moen lists its Reflex pull-down system on the Essie for smooth movement and secure docking, plus a pause feature that stops the flow as the wand passes over the counter. American Standard lists the Re-Trax retraction system on the Raviv for smooth pull-out and retraction, and a two-function head with stream, spray and pause. The Colony Pro 7074040 keeps the spray in a separate side holder on the deck, so the main spout stays fixed while the spray hose pulls from its own base.

Supply lines and cartridges

All three list 3/8-inch compression connections, so check that your shutoff valves match. Moen lists 3/8-inch flexible supply lines and a 68-inch braided spray hose on the Essie. American Standard lists 38-inch braided supply hoses on the Raviv and integrated 24-inch color-coded stainless lines on the Colony Pro. For cartridges, Moen lists the 1255 Duralast, the Raviv lists a 28 mm ceramic disc and the Colony Pro sheet lists 35 mm in its description and 40 mm in its suggested specification.

If a single-handle faucet drips later, the cartridge is usually the part to replace; see our faucet cartridge guide.
