Klein 56073: small folding light for under the sink
Choose the Klein 56073 for cabinet and vanity work. Klein lists (kleintools.com) 100, 250 and 500-lumen settings with runtimes up to 13 hours, a 100-lumen spotlight, a 180-degree pivot and 270-degree rotation, an N50 rare-earth magnetic base, USB-C charging, an IP54 rating and 6-1/2-foot drop protection.
Stick it to the disposal or a steel sink bowl and aim it at the trap. At 500 lumens on high, it is usually enough for a sink cabinet.

Klein 56416: 1000-lumen area light
Choose the Klein 56416 to light a whole closet or corner. Klein lists (kleintools.com) high at 1000 lumens for 9 hours, medium 425 lumens for 14 hours and low 300 lumens for 21 hours, a head that rotates 360 degrees on a kickstand that rotates 90 degrees, strong magnets, a nail notch and hooks, a battery gauge, USB-C charging and an IP66 rating.
The long low-mode runtime suits a slow job like draining and flushing a water heater.

Klein 56417: flood and spot for crawl spaces
Choose the Klein 56417 for crawl spaces and large rooms. Klein lists (kleintools.com) a 2-in-1 flood and spot light: 3000 lumens with everything on for 3 hours, spot at 1400 or 475 lumens, flood at 1400, 700 or 250 lumens up to 12 hours, a magnetic base, hanging hook and rail mount, USB-A output to charge small devices, IP65 and 3-meter drop protection.
Hang it from a joist in the middle of the crawl space and you can see the whole drain run instead of a circle of light.

USB-C or tool-battery lights?
All three Klein lights here charge by USB-C, so you can top them up in the truck from a phone charger and they do not tie up a tool battery. The 56417 also has a USB-A output to charge a phone or another light.
Tool-battery area lights from the big power tool brands run on the same packs as your drill and can run for a long time on a large pack, which is handy if you already carry spare batteries. They are usually bigger, and in our October 15 check the ones we looked at were sold by third-party sellers on Amazon, so check who is selling before you buy.
Either way, pick one charging habit and stick to it, so lights are full when the call comes in.
A lighting kit for service and remodel work
For service calls, a headlamp plus a small magnetic light like the 56073 covers most jobs: under sinks, behind toilets and inside vanities.
For water heater swaps and boiler rooms, add a mid-size area light like the 56416 that can sit on a shelf or stick to the tank and run for hours.
For crawl spaces, basements and new construction rough-in, a bright flood light like the 56417 hung from a joist lights the whole run so you can check slope, supports and connections without moving the light every few feet.
Reading lumen and runtime claims
Lumens and runtime trade against each other. The maker figures above pair each brightness with its runtime: the 56417 runs 3 hours at its full 3000 lumens but 12 hours at 250. Plan on the mode you will actually use for the job.
The ANSI FL1 standard that Klein lists for the 56073 is the common way makers rate flashlight output and runtime, so numbers rated to it are easier to compare.
Cold weather shortens battery runtime. Klein lists a 14 to 104°F range for the 56073 and 41 to 95°F for the 56417, so a crawl space in winter may cut the time you get.
Water and dust ratings on a plumbing job
IP ratings tell you how much dust and water a light is built to keep out. Klein lists IP54 for the 56073, IP65 for the 56417 and IP66 for the 56416. Higher is better for splashes and wet crawl spaces, but none of these is a promise for submersion in a flooded basement.
Keep the charging port covered and dry before you plug in. Do not set a work light in standing water or on a wet electrical device, and wipe a light dry before you put it back in the bag.
Mounting it where you need it

Magnets stick to water heaters, steel sinks, disposals and ductwork. In a crawl space, a hook over a joist or nail is often better than the floor. Aim the light from the side, not straight at your eyes, and away from shiny chrome or white porcelain that throws glare back at you.
Charge lights at the end of the day so they are full for the next call, and keep a small one in the bag as a backup.
Two lights from different angles cut shadows better than one bright light. When you are working on a trap or a supply stop, put one light low and to the side and use your headlamp for the detail; you will see threads and washers more clearly than with a single light pointed straight in.
