Best Commercial Toilet

For most public restrooms, pick the Kohler Highcliff Ultra K-96057: Kohler lists 1.0 to 1.6 gpf by valve, ADA among its codes and a 2,500-pound static load. Pick the Wellcomme Ultra K-96053-B for a standard-height, 4-bolt bowl where accessible height is not required. Check the building’s supply pressure and flow against Kohler’s listed minimums first.

This guide compares three Kohler commercial flushometer toilet bowls and what the building must supply to run them.

All three are floor-mount, elongated, top-spud vitreous china flushometer bowls. Kohler figures.

A commercial toilet in this sense is a tankless bowl fed by a flushometer valve on the wall, the kind used in offices, schools and other public restrooms. The bowl and valve are bought separately, and the valve sets the flush volume. All three Kohler bowls here list a 1-1/2-inch top spud, a 2-1/8-inch fully glazed trapway, a 10 × 7-inch water surface, 5-1/2-inch seat-mounting holes and a 10- or 12-inch rough-in.

Kohler Highcliff Ultra K-96057: the ADA-listed bowl

Choose the Kohler Highcliff Ultra for most public restrooms, where accessibility rules often apply. The K-96057 spec sheet (resources.kohler.com) lists an elongated vitreous china bowl rated at 1.0, 1.1, 1.28 or 1.6 gallons per flush depending on the flushometer, a static load rating of 2,500 pounds, and ADA, ICC/ANSI A117.1, CSA B651 and OBC among its codes, along with WaterSense and the California Energy Commission.

Kohler notes it replaces the older Highcrest K-4302, Highcliff K-4368 and Highline K-4405, with the caution that height and footprint may vary, so check the drawing against the existing floor and wall before swapping.

Kohler Highcliff Ultra K-96057-SS: antimicrobial finish

Choose the K-96057-SS if you want the same Highcliff Ultra bowl with Kohler’s antimicrobial finish. The K-96057-SS spec sheet (resources.kohler.com) lists the same flush volumes, trapway, rough-in, static load and codes as the standard Highcliff Ultra, and notes that the seat is sold separately.

Read Kohler’s own limit on that finish: it says the finish inhibits the growth of mold-, mildew-, stain- and odor-causing bacteria on the fixture surface, that it does not protect users against bacteria, viruses or other disease organisms, and that the product should still be cleaned thoroughly. Treat it as a surface-finish option, not a health feature.

Kohler Wellcomme Ultra K-96053-B: standard height, 4-bolt base

Choose the Kohler Wellcomme Ultra K-96053-B where a standard-height bowl is wanted and you prefer a four-bolt floor attachment. The K-96053-B spec sheet (resources.kohler.com) lists an elongated, standard-height bowl with a 4-bolt base for added stability, the same 1.0 to 1.6 gpf range by flushometer, and replacement of the older Wellcomme K-4350-B.

Its sheet lists WaterSense and the California Energy Commission but no ADA code, so it is not the bowl to specify where an accessible-height fixture is required. It also notes that if fixture supply pressure is below 35 psi static, the bowl must be paired with a valve rated at 1.28 gpf or greater.

On October 15, 2026, the standard new offer from Standard Plumbing Supply showed limited stock with model K-96053-B-0, White.

Supply pressure and flow: the part people miss

Flushometer bowls need more water, faster, than a tank toilet. Kohler’s sheets for all three list a minimum static pressure of 35 psi, a maximum of 80 psi, a minimum flowing pressure of 25 psi and a minimum flow rate of 25 gallons per minute at the fixture.

Before choosing a flushometer bowl for a house or small shop, measure static pressure with a gauge and confirm with your plumber that the supply line can deliver the listed flow; our water pressure gauge guide covers gauges. Kohler’s Wellcomme sheet also says that below 35 psi static the bowl must be paired with a valve rated at 1.28 gpf or more. If static pressure runs above 80 psi, our pressure regulator guide covers the fix.

Matching the flushometer valve

The bowl does not decide the flush volume; the valve does. Pick a flushometer rated for the volume you want within the bowl’s listed range, and make sure your local code allows it. For an existing installation, check the rating on the current valve before you order a new bowl.

For worn valves, our Zurn flush valve repair kit guide covers rebuild kits. If you are fitting out a full restroom, our Kohler urinal guide and American Standard urinal guide cover the matching urinals.

Rough-in, seats and drainage

All three sheets list a 12-inch rough-in in their technical information and a 10- or 12-inch option in their features; confirm the measurement from the finished wall to the flange center before ordering. Our toilet rough-in guide shows how to measure.

The seats are sold separately. Kohler’s sheets note that plumbing codes may require elongated toilets and elongated, open-front seats in public bathrooms. For back-to-back installations, the sheets say to use only a 45-degree double wye fitting, so check the existing drain fitting if two bowls share a wall.

Replacing an older commercial bowl

Kohler lists the Highcliff Ultra as the replacement for the Highcrest K-4302, Highcliff K-4368 and Highline K-4405, and the Wellcomme Ultra K-96053-B as the replacement for the Wellcomme K-4350-B. In each case the sheet warns that height and footprint may vary. Before demolition, compare the new drawing with the old bowl’s rough-in, the flushometer’s outlet height above the bowl spud, and any floor finish the old bowl covered, so the new bowl and valve line up without surprises.

No. Kohler lists these bowls at 1.0 to 1.6 gpf depending on the flushometer specified, sold separately.

What water pressure does a flushometer toilet need?

Kohler lists 35 psi minimum static, 80 psi maximum static, 25 psi minimum flowing and 25 gpm minimum flow for these bowls.

Which Kohler commercial bowl is ADA listed?

The Highcliff Ultra K-96057 and K-96057-SS list ADA among their codes; the Wellcomme Ultra K-96053-B does not.

Can I put a flushometer toilet in a house?

Only if the supply can meet the maker’s pressure and flow figures; otherwise choose a tank toilet.

How we chose

This document-based guide makes no hands-on testing claim. We read Kohler’s spec sheets for the Highcliff Ultra K-96057 and K-96057-SS and the Wellcomme Ultra K-96053-B. On October 15, 2026, the two Highcliff offers sold by Amazon.com and the Wellcomme offer from Standard Plumbing Supply showed limited stock.
