An elongated toilet has a longer, oval bowl than a round-front toilet, which gives more room at the front of the seat. The trade-off is that it projects farther from the wall; both Cadet PRO sheets list a 30-1/8-inch depth. If space is tight, see our round toilet guide. For one-piece or dual flush elongated models, see our one-piece and dual flush toilet guides.

American Standard Cadet PRO 215CA004: standard height, 1.6 gpf

Choose the Cadet PRO 215CA004 for a standard-height elongated toilet with a 1.6 gpf flush. American Standard’s spec sheet (lixil.cdn.celum.cloud) lists vitreous china, a 1.6 gpf Cadet flushing system, a 3-inch flush valve, a fully glazed 2-1/8-inch trapway, a 9 by 8-inch water surface, a PowerWash rim, a metal trip lever and EZ-Install tools with color-matched bowl caps.

It lists a 30-1/8 by 17-3/8 by 28-7/8-inch size, a 15-inch rim height in the drawing, a 12-inch rough-in and a 1,000-gram MaP score at 1.6 gpf from testing by IAPMO R&T. The seat and supply line are sold separately. The 2013 sheet lists a 5-year warranty; check the current product page (americanstandard-us.com) for today’s terms. On October 15, 2026, the standard new offer sold by Homestead Supply & More was in stock with model 215CA004.020.

American Standard Cadet PRO Right Height 215AA004: taller bowl

Choose the Right Height 215AA004 for the same Cadet PRO with a taller, accessible bowl. American Standard’s spec sheet (lixil.cdn.celum.cloud) lists the same 1.6 gpf flush, 3-inch flush valve, 2-1/8-inch trapway, 9 by 8-inch water surface and 1,000-gram MaP score as the 215CA004, with a 16-1/2-inch rim height for accessible applications.

It lists a 30-1/8 by 17-3/8 by 30-3/8-inch size and says the toilet meets ADA guidelines and ANSI A117.1 requirements, with a note to check local codes. The drawing shows a suggested supply height of 10 inches, two inches higher than the standard model. Its product page (americanstandard-us.com) lists a limited lifetime warranty on chinaware and 5 years on mechanical parts, while the 2013 sheet lists 5 years. On October 15, 2026, the standard new offer sold by Amazon.com showed limited stock with model 215AA004.020. More in our American Standard toilet guide.

Swiss Madison Classé SM-2T130: skirted, seat included

Choose the Classé SM-2T130 for a skirted two-piece elongated toilet with a 1.28 gpf flush and a seat in the box. Swiss Madison’s product page (swissmadison.com) lists a single 1.28 gpf flush, a standard 12-inch rough-in, an elongated bowl, comfort height, a fully glazed and skirted trapway, 3-inch access holes for installation, and a soft-close quick-release seat.

The installation manual (images.salsify.com) lists a wax ring, cover caps and bolts as included parts, recommends two people to handle the toilet because it is fragile, and gives a one-year limited warranty to the original purchaser. Swiss Madison describes comfort height as a range of 17 to 19 inches and does not list an exact bowl height for this model. On October 15, 2026, the standard new offer sold by Amazon.com was in stock with model SM-2T130. More in our Swiss Madison toilet guide.

Elongated or round?

Elongated bowls are longer from the seat hinge to the front edge. That extra length is why both Cadet PRO elongated sheets list a 30-1/8-inch depth from the wall, compared with 28-1/4 inches on the round-front Cadet PRO in our round toilet guide. Swiss Madison says its elongated bowl provides extra room and comfort. Elongated toilets take an elongated seat; American Standard’s sheets specify its #5321.110 EverClean elongated seat for both Cadet PRO models. Measure from the wall to any door or vanity in front of the toilet before you choose.

1.6 gpf or 1.28 gpf?

The two Cadet PRO models use 1.6 gallons per flush, while the Swiss Madison uses 1.28. Neither Cadet PRO sheet lists WaterSense; the Swiss Madison product page does not list it either. If your area requires 1.28 gpf or offers rebates for high-efficiency toilets, check the model with your local water utility before buying. Both American Standard sheets list a 1,000-gram MaP score at 1.6 gpf, attributed to IAPMO R&T testing.

Tank options on the Cadet PRO

Both American Standard sheets list alternative tank configurations for the Cadet PRO, ordered as separate tank part numbers. They list a tank with an AquaGuard liner, a tank with a cover locking device, a tank with the trip lever on the right side, and combinations of these. The standard 4188A.004 tank comes with a chrome trip lever, and the right-side lever is listed as an alternative. If your bathroom layout puts the wall on the left of the toilet, a right-side lever tank may be easier to reach.

Installing an elongated toilet

All three are 12-inch rough-in, so measure from the finished wall to the floor bolts first. Swiss Madison’s manual says the closet bolts should be 6 inches apart and parallel to the wall, and to tighten nuts alternately without overtightening, which can crack the ceramic. American Standard lists the supply line as sold separately; see our supply line guide. For the floor seal on the Cadet PRO models, see our wax ring guide, and for a seat, our toilet seat guide.
