A deck-mount tub faucet, often called a Roman tub faucet, sits on the tub deck or the tub rim instead of the wall. Kohler sells these as trim: the spout and handles you see. The valve that sits under the deck is a separate purchase, so a complete faucet is the trim plus the matching Kohler valve.
Kohler Tempered K-T22024-4: longest reach
Choose the Tempered K-T22024-4 for the longest spout reach here, useful on a wide tub deck. Kohler’s spec sheet (resources.kohler.com) lists two lever handles for separate hot and cold control, a nondiverter spout with an 8-5/8-inch reach, 3-5/8 inches of handle clearance, Kohler ceramic disc valves, premium metal construction and deck- or bath-mount installation. It is trim only and requires a K-300-K or K-300-KR high-flow bath valve, or the 3/4-inch K-301-K.
Kohler lists optional deep rough-in kits, 1032704 and 1032705, for thicker decks, and ADA, OBC and CSA B651 compliance when installed to those requirements. The drain is not included.
On October 15, 2026, the standard new offer sold by Buildcom showed In Stock with part K-T22024-4-BL, matte black.

Kohler’s spec sheet (resources.kohler.com) lists two lever handles, premium metal construction, deck- or bath-mount installation, and a required K-300-K high-flow bath valve. The features list a 7-1/2-inch spout reach while the technical table lists 7-7/16 inches; the difference is 1/16 inch.
Kohler lists coordinating Riff accessories such as a towel ring and toilet paper holder, and ADA, OBC and CSA B651 compliance when installed to those requirements. The drain is not included.
On October 15, 2026, the standard new offer sold by eFaucets showed limited stock with part T27405-4-BN, Vibrant Brushed Nickel.

Kohler Alteo K-T45115-4: rough-in kits listed
Choose the Alteo K-T45115-4 when you want Kohler’s rough-in kits listed for both valve sizes. Kohler’s spec sheet (resources.kohler.com) lists two lever handles, a nondiverter spout, Kohler ceramic disc valves, premium metal construction, deck- or bath-mount installation and a required K-300-K high-flow bath valve. The features list a 7-5/8-inch spout while the technical table lists a 7-1/2-inch reach.
Kohler lists optional roughing-in kits for 1/2-inch (73444) and 3/4-inch (1086701) valve systems, and coordinating Alteo towel bars, rings and paper holders. The drain is not included.

The valve: buy it separately
All three are trim only. Kohler lists the K-300-K 1/2-inch high-flow bath valve as the required valve for each, with the K-300-KR (rigid connections) and the 3/4-inch K-301-K also listed for the Tempered. The valve sits under the deck and connects to the hot and cold supply lines; the trim attaches to it from above. On a new tub, the valve goes in during rough plumbing, before the tub deck is finished.
If you are replacing only the trim on an existing Kohler deck-mount valve, check the model on the old valve first. Because the valve is hidden under the deck, plan for access to it; follow Kohler’s installation instructions for the valve and trim.
Deck thickness and spout height
Kohler’s Alteo drawing gives the clearest deck limits of the three: 1/4 inch to 2-1/8 inches for a rim or deck mount, and for a rough-plus-finished deck, up to 2-1/8 inches of rough deck with 1/4 to 1-1/4 inches of finished deck on top. It shows the spout outlet 6-9/16 inches above the deck and a 9-3/16-inch overall spout height. The Tempered drawing shows its spout outlet 5-15/16 inches above the deck, a 7-1/8-inch overall spout height and lever handles 4-13/16 inches tall.
If your deck is thicker than the standard trim allows, Kohler lists deep rough-in kits for the Tempered (1032704 and 1032705) and roughing-in kits for the Alteo’s 1/2-inch and 3/4-inch valve systems. Check the deck before ordering the valve.
Finishes and matching pieces
The Tempered and Riff sheets list five finishes: polished chrome, Vibrant Polished Nickel, Vibrant Brushed Nickel, matte black and Vibrant Brushed Moderne Brass. The Alteo sheet lists polished chrome and Vibrant Brushed Nickel. Each sheet also lists matching towel bars, towel rings and paper holders from the same collection, so the tub faucet can coordinate with the rest of the bathroom hardware.
Which Kohler tub faucet should you buy?
Start with the tub. A large drop-in or platform tub with a wide deck benefits from the Tempered’s 8-5/8-inch reach, which carries the stream farther from the deck edge. On a tub with a narrower rim, the Riff or Alteo’s roughly 7-1/2-inch reach is enough. Then match the style to the rest of the bathroom: the Riff, Alteo and Tempered each belong to a different Kohler collection with matching accessories, so pick the one that matches your other fixtures.
All three use two handles for separate hot and cold, and all three list ADA, OBC and CSA B651 compliance when installed to those requirements. If you are replacing an existing Kohler deck-mount faucet, read the valve model before you order trim, because the trim must match the valve under the deck.
Spout reach and tub size
Measure from where the spout will sit to the inside of the tub. Kohler’s spout reaches here run from about 7-7/16 to 8-5/8 inches. A spout that is too short can pour onto the tub rim on a wide deck; one that reaches well into the tub keeps water off the deck. Also check the handle clearance; Kohler lists 3-5/8 inches for the Tempered.
Kohler pairs these trims with its high-flow bath valves, and none of the three sheets lists a hand shower. For a filler that stands on the floor beside a freestanding tub, see our freestanding tub filler guide; for a faucet that mounts on the wall, our wall-mount tub faucet guide; and for other brands’ deck-mount faucets, our Roman tub faucet guide.

How we chose
This document-based guide makes no hands-on testing claim. We read and rendered Kohler’s spec sheets for the K-T22024-4, K-T27405-4 and K-T45115-4. On October 15, 2026, we checked each linked standard new Amazon offer for part number, seller, stock and an add-to-cart button. Kohler’s floor-mount Tempered filler was left out because its sheet adds floor-support requirements beyond this guide. Read our selection method and about Plumbing Picks.
