Height and cabinet clearance

Height matters with Kraus faucets because several models are tall. Kraus lists the Nolen at 16-3/8 inches, sized for standard 18-inch upper cabinets, and the Coda at 16-1/4 inches. The Bolden is 18-3/4 inches, so check the space under a window sill, shelf or upper cabinet before you choose it.

All three use a handle that rotates forward 90 degrees, so Kraus says they need no backsplash clearance behind them, which helps when the faucet sits close to the wall.

Flow rate

Kraus lists 1.8 gpm for the Coda and Bolden, below the federal 2.2 gpm kitchen faucet maximum; some states set lower limits. Kraus lists DOE and CEC certifications on these pages, so check your local limit if you live where kitchen faucet flow is restricted.

Hole size and deck plates

Count the holes in your sink. The Nolen includes a deck plate for 1, 2 or 3 holes; the Coda and Bolden need the DP02 deck plate, sold separately, for a 3-hole sink. A fourth hole can hold a soap dispenser; our soap dispenser guide covers options, and our hole size guide covers measuring.

Which Kraus should you buy?

If you want the simplest swap with every part included, the Nolen is the pick. If you like the open-coil commercial look but want it to fit under cabinets, the Coda is shorter, and Kraus describes it as budget-friendly. If you have the height for it and want the full restaurant look with a separate docking arm, choose the Bolden. For more commercial-style options across brands, see our commercial-style faucet guide.

Spring spout or standard spout?

The Coda and Bolden use an open-coil spring spout, the look borrowed from restaurant pre-rinse units. The spring lets the hose move and gives the faucet a professional look; the Bolden adds a separate docking arm for the sprayer. The Nolen uses a conventional high-arc spout with the hose hidden inside.

Spring spouts take a little more cleaning, since grease and soap can settle in the coils, but they make the faucet a focal point. A conventional spout is easier to wipe and looks quieter in a traditional kitchen.

Spot-free finishes

Kraus sells many of these faucets in a spot-free stainless finish (SFS), which Kraus says resists water spots and fingerprints. The Bolden picked here is the standard stainless (SS) version. Kraus also offers matte black, brushed brass and chrome versions on several models; confirm the full model number and finish code before ordering.

Our black kitchen faucet and brass kitchen faucet guides cover those finishes across brands.

Keeping the sprayer working

Kraus lists soft rubber spray nozzles on these faucets; when the spray turns uneven, rub them with a fingertip to break loose mineral scale. If the wand stops retracting, check that the counterweight is clipped to the hose at the right spot and that nothing under the sink is catching the hose. For replacement parts, contact Kraus customer service with your full model number.

Installing a Kraus pull-down

Kraus lists pre-attached water lines and quick-connect fittings, which shorten the install. Shut off the stops, remove the old faucet, set the new one with its deck plate if needed, tighten the mounting hardware from below, connect the supplies to the stops and the hose to the quick connect, and clip on the counterweight. Run the water and check for drips. Our faucet installation guide covers each step.

Kraus or another brand?

Kraus is a common alternative to Moen, Delta and Kohler. Our Moen, Delta and Kohler kitchen faucet guides cover those brands, and our kitchen faucet guide covers picks across brands.
