Gibson is a Moen collection sold as shower trim and bathroom sink faucets. The two shower trims share one Moen sheet, which also covers the T2901 valve-only trim; for that part and other Moen trims, see our Moen trim compatibility guide. Both sheets list the same warranty: lifetime limited against leaks, drips and finish defects to the original homeowner, 10 years in a multifamily installation and 5 years in a commercial one.

Moen Gibson T2902EPBL: shower-only trim

Choose the T2902EP for a stall shower with a Moen Posi-Temp valve. Moen’s Gibson trim sheet (maker page: assets.moen.com/shared/docs/product-specifications/t2903sp.pdf) lists the T2902 series as shower trim only, for the 62300 and 2500 series valves. It lists metal construction, a lever handle with a red and blue indicator on the escutcheon, a 270-degree handle arc with off at 6 o’clock and maximum hot at 9 o’clock, and an adjustable temperature limit stop to control maximum hot water temperature.

Moen says the pressure-balancing mechanism holds the selected temperature to within 3 degrees, and EP models are limited to 1.75 gpm at 80 psi and are WaterSense certified. The valve uses the 1222 cartridge. On October 15, 2026, the standard new offer sold by Amazon.com was in stock with model T2902EPBL, matte black.

Moen Gibson T2903EP: tub and shower trim

Choose the T2903EP for a tub with a shower over it. The same Moen sheet (maker page: assets.moen.com/shared/docs/product-specifications/t2903sp.pdf) lists the T2903 series as tub and shower trim that includes the showerhead, arm, flange and a diverter tub spout. Operation, pressure balancing, the temperature limit stop, the 1.75 gpm EP flow and the 1222 cartridge are the same as the shower-only trim.

The drawing shows the tub spout and valve layout for a tub or tub/shower at a 32-inch valve height and the showerhead at a nominal 6 feet 6 inches. NH suffix versions come without a showerhead. On October 15, 2026, the standard new offer sold by Amazon.com was in stock with model T2903EP, chrome. Amazon also lists matte black as T2903EPBL.

Moen Gibson TV6142BL: widespread bathroom faucet with valve

Choose the TV6142BL for a three-hole bathroom sink. The “TV” listing pairs the T6142 trim with its valve; Moen’s T6142 sheet (maker page: assets.moen.com/shared/docs/product-specifications/t6142sp.pdf) lists the 9000 and 69000 valves. It lists metal construction, 1/2-inch IPS connections, a metal pop-up drain, lever handles that rotate 90 degrees to full on, a 1.2 gpm maximum flow, the 1234 cartridge and WaterSense certification.

The drawing shows an 8-5/16-inch spout height, 6 inches from the deck to the outlet, a 5-inch reach, handles 3-1/4 inches tall drawn 8 inches apart, and a 1-1/2-inch maximum deck thickness. Moen says it installs through three holes at least 1-1/8 inches across. On October 15, 2026, the standard new offer sold by Amazon.com was in stock with model TV6142BL, matte black.

Trim only versus valve included

Shower trim. Moen’s T2902 and T2903 listings say “Posi-Temp valve required.” The trim covers what you see; the valve inside the wall stays. That makes trim the easy update when the valve is already a Moen Posi-Temp, and the wrong buy when it is not. If you need the valve too, our Moen shower faucet guide covers kits with the valve included.

Bathroom faucet. The TV6142BL includes the valve, so it suits a new vanity or a sink where you are replacing the whole faucet.

Cartridges. The shower trims run on the 1222 cartridge in the Posi-Temp valve, and the bathroom faucet uses the 1234 cartridge. Those are the parts to look up if either one drips later; our shower cartridge guide covers the 1222.

Rough-in details from the Gibson trim sheet

If you are replacing only the trim, these are already set by the valve in the wall. If you are installing new, the T2903 drawing shows the valve at 45 inches minimum and 48 inches maximum above the floor for a shower, 32 inches for a tub or tub/shower, and the showerhead at a nominal 6 feet 6 inches.

The thin-wall view shows a wall opening between 2-1/4 and 3-1/2 inches across for a plastic tub or shower surround and marks a plaster ground on the valve. Moen marks the drawings “do not scale,” so rely on the printed numbers.

Finishes and the M-Pact system

Finishes. Moen’s sheets say finishes are identified by the suffix on the model number. On Amazon, Gibson listings include chrome (no suffix on the T2903EP), matte black (BL), and other finishes such as bronzed gold (BZG) on the T2903EP. Match the suffix across the shower trim and the sink faucet if you want the room to agree.

M-Pact. Both Gibson sheets carry Moen’s M-Pact system mark. The shower trim sheet lists the 62300 and 2500 series Posi-Temp valves, and the T6142 sheet lists the 9000 and 69000 valves. Before you swap to any other Moen trim later, check that its sheet lists the same valve series as the one in your wall; if it does, the change can stay on the outside of the wall. If it does not, the valve itself would have to change, which means opening the wall.

Accessibility. Both sheets list ADA compliance for the lever handles.

Check these before you order

  • Valve. The shower trims need a Moen Posi-Temp valve; the bathroom faucet includes its valve.
  • Tub spout. T2903 includes a diverter spout; T2902 does not.
  • Sink holes. Three holes, at least 1-1/8 inches across, for the TV6142.
  • Deck. 1-1/2 inches maximum thickness for the bathroom faucet.
  • Finish. BL is matte black; no suffix on the T2903EP listing is chrome.
  • Flow. 1.75 gpm in the shower, 1.2 gpm at the sink.

Which Moen Gibson should you buy?

How we chose

This document-based guide makes no hands-on testing claim. We read Moen’s Gibson tub/shower trim sheet (T2901, T2902, T2903) and the T6142 widespread faucet sheet, and rendered the T6142 drawing. On October 15, 2026, we checked each linked standard new Amazon offer for model, seller, stock and an add-to-cart button. Read our selection method and about Plumbing Picks.
