A “shower faucet” in a store usually means two parts: the valve that sits inside the wall and the trim you see, meaning the handle, the plate behind it (the escutcheon), the showerhead and, on a tub, the spout. Many Moen boxes sell only the trim and say “valve required.” Every pick here includes the valve, which is what you want for a new bathroom, a remodel with the wall open, or replacing an old valve that is not a Moen.
If you already have a Moen valve and just want new trim, our Moen trim compatibility guide covers that instead.
Moen Conway 82922SRN: square styling, tub and shower
Choose the Conway for a tub-and-shower with square lines and a valve that takes either threaded or copper pipe. Moen’s spec sheet (maker page: assets.moen.com/shared/docs/product-specifications/82922sp.pdf) lists a Posi-Temp pressure-balancing valve with an adjustable temperature limit stop, 1/2-inch IPS or CC connections, and a box that includes the valve, showerhead, tub spout, arm and flange. Moen says the pressure-balancing mechanism holds the selected temperature to within 2 degrees.
The lever turns counterclockwise through a 270-degree arc, off at 6 o’clock and maximum hot at 9 o’clock. Moen lists 1.75 gpm for units made after March 1, 2018, and 2.5 gpm before that, and says it meets WaterSense criteria. The drawing shows a 7-inch square escutcheon, a showerhead 6-3/16 inches wide on an arm that reaches 9-11/64 inches from the wall, and a spout that reaches 5-53/64 inches. On October 15, 2026, the standard new offer sold by Amazon.com was in stock with model 82922SRN, Spot Resist Nickel.

Moen Idora 82115SRN: round styling, tub and shower
Choose the Idora for a tub-and-shower with a simple round look and the 1222 cartridge. Moen’s spec sheet (maker page: assets.moen.com/shared/docs/product-specifications/82115sp.pdf) lists a Posi-Temp pressure-balancing valve with an adjustable temperature limit stop, 1/2-inch IPS or CC connections, a 1.75 gpm showerhead and a box that includes the valve, showerhead, tub spout, arm and flange. It names the 1222 cartridge and says it accommodates back-to-back installations, where two showers share one wall.
Moen says the valve holds the selected temperature to within 3 degrees F and meets WaterSense criteria. The drawing shows a 7-inch round escutcheon. The sheet describes the chrome 82115; the linked offer is 82115SRN, the Spot Resist Brushed Nickel version. On October 15, 2026, the standard new offer sold by Amazon.com showed limited stock with that model number.

Moen Meena 82618: handshower instead of a fixed head
Choose the Meena if you want a handheld wand from day one. Moen’s spec sheet (maker page: assets.moen.com/shared/docs/product-specifications/82618sp.pdf) lists a Posi-Temp pressure-balancing valve with an adjustable temperature limit stop and 1/2-inch IPS connections, and a box that includes the valve, tub spout, shower arm, flange, shower wand, bracket and metal hose. The wand has four functions Moen calls Downpour, Full Spray, Rinse and Targeted Massage, and it is limited to 1.75 gpm.
It uses the 1222 cartridge and accommodates back-to-back installations. The drawing shows a 7-inch escutcheon and a spout that reaches 7-3/8 inches from the wall. Note the connection: the sheet lists IPS only, while the Conway and Idora sheets list IPS or CC. On October 15, 2026, the standard new offer sold by LGM Wholesale showed limited stock with model 82618, chrome.

Moen Chateau L2352: shower-only stall
Choose the Chateau L2352 for a stall shower with no tub spout. Moen’s spec sheet (maker page: assets.moen.com/shared/docs/product-specifications/l2352sp.pdf) lists a Posi-Temp pressure-balancing shower valve with an adjustable temperature limit stop, 1/2-inch CC (copper sweat) connections and a box that includes the showerhead, arm and flange. It uses the 1222 cartridge and accommodates back-to-back installations.
Moen says the valve holds temperature to within 3 degrees, and the showerhead is limited to 2.5 gpm, or 1.75 gpm on EP suffix models. The sheet warns there is more than one version of this model and to check which you have. Check your local flow rules if you live where 2.5 gpm heads are not allowed. On October 15, 2026, the standard new offer sold by Amazon.com was in stock with model L2352, chrome.

What the Moen sheets say about rough-in
Heights. All four drawings show the showerhead outlet at a nominal 6 feet 6 inches above the floor and the valve at 45 or 48 inches for a shower. The three tub-and-shower sheets add 32 inches for the valve over a tub. These are Moen’s nominal figures; your tub or stall may call for a different height.
Wall depth. The drawings show the valve body set so the finished wall falls inside a range Moen marks on the sheet, with a maximum wall of 1-7/8 inches for IPS and 2 inches for CC on the Conway and Idora. The thin-wall view for a plastic tub or shower surround shows a wall opening between 2-1/4 and 3-1/2 inches across.
Plaster ground. The thin-wall views mark a plaster ground on the valve, with a 1-3/8-inch dimension from the valve centerline and a 1-1/2-inch maximum, which is how Moen shows the valve depth relative to the surround.
Pressure balancing, the temperature limit stop and the cartridge
“Posi-Temp” is Moen’s name for a pressure-balancing valve. When someone flushes a toilet or starts the dishwasher, the cold pressure drops; a pressure-balancing valve reacts by cutting back the hot side so the mix stays close to where you set it. Moen states the window on each sheet: within 2 degrees on the Conway and within 3 degrees F on the others. For how this differs from a thermostatic valve, see our pressure-balancing vs thermostatic guide.
Each sheet also lists an adjustable temperature limit stop that controls the maximum hot water temperature by limiting how far the handle can turn.
The Idora, Meena and Chateau sheets name the 1222 cartridge. If one of these starts to drip or loses temperature control years later, that is the part to look up; our shower cartridge replacement guide covers the symptoms.
Check these before you order
- Valve included. All four picks include the valve; many Moen trim kits do not.
- Pipe type. Conway and Idora take IPS or CC; Meena is IPS; Chateau L2352 is CC.
- Tub spout. The Chateau L2352 has no spout; the other three do.
- Flow. Three are 1.75 gpm; the Chateau L2352 head is 2.5 gpm max.
- Finish. Match the suffix (SRN, chrome) to the rest of the room.
- Old valve. If a working Moen valve is already in the wall, buy trim only.
