What Tornado Flush and CEFIONTECT mean
Tornado Flush is TOTO’s high-efficiency flush system, listed at 1.28 gpf on both Drake models; the Aquia IV’s Dynamax Tornado version is described by TOTO as using 360-degree cleaning power. CEFIONTECT is TOTO’s ceramic glaze, which TOTO says minimizes waste sticking to porous ceramic surfaces, so the bowl stays cleaner between scrubbings.

Rough-in, seat and supply
Measure your rough-in: the distance from the finished wall to the center of the closet bolts. All three toilets here are 12-inch rough-in models; the Aquia IV can use TOTO’s Unifit adapters for 10- or 14-inch rough-ins. Our rough-in guide explains measuring.

Single flush or dual flush?
The Drake models use a single 1.28-gallon flush, already WaterSense level. The Aquia IV adds a 0.9-gallon light flush for liquids, which saves more water over time. Adding a WASHLET bidet seat
TOTO calls many of its toilets WASHLET+ ready. The Aquia IV spec sheet lists a 9AU321-A WASHLET adapter as required for WASHLET installation. Which TOTO should you buy?
If you want one box with the toilet and seat, the Drake II set is the simplest buy. If you prefer the original Drake’s look with a softer, rounded tank, choose the Drake Transitional and add a seat. If the bathroom is small or cleaning is the priority, the Aquia IV’s skirted sides have no exposed trapway to scrub, and its 0.9-gallon light flush saves water.
Check your rough-in first; all three are 12-inch models. Then check the bowl height and shape against the room: an elongated bowl needs more space in front, so measure from the wall to any door swing or vanity.
Installing a two-piece TOTO
A two-piece toilet sets the bowl first on a new wax ring, then the tank on top with its tank-to-bowl gasket and bolts. Tighten tank bolts evenly and only until snug, since vitreous china can crack if overtightened. Connect the supply line, turn on the water, let the tank fill and flush several times while checking for leaks at the base, tank bolts and supply.
