Best Touchless Bathroom Faucet

For a home bathroom, the Moen Cia 6221EW adds a wave sensor to a normal handle at 1.2 gpm; the Delta Lineax 562T-CZ-DST adds touch control too. For a public or commercial sink, the Moen M-Power 8559 is a handle-free 0.5 gpm sensor faucet. All three run on batteries with an optional AC adapter.

Touchless faucets turn on when a sensor sees your hands. Residential models keep a normal handle for setting temperature; commercial sensor faucets often have no handle at all, so the temperature comes from the water supplied to them or a separate mixing valve.

Moen Cia 6221EW: wave sensor plus handle

Choose the Moen Cia 6221EW for a home bathroom. Moen’s spec sheet (maker page: assets.moen.com/shared/docs/product-specifications/6221ewsp.pdf) lists two ways to control it, a touchless wave sensor and a familiar lever handle mounted on the right, power from 6 AA batteries (included) or an optional AC adapter, 1.2 gpm maximum flow at 60 psi, a 1255 Duralast cartridge, a metal spring-loaded pop-up drain and an optional 3-hole deck plate.

Moen lists a limited lifetime warranty against leaks, drips and finish defects and a five-year warranty on electronic operation for the original consumer purchaser. On October 15, 2026, the standard new offer from American Tool Supply showed limited stock with part 6221EW.

Delta Lineax 562T-CZ-DST: three ways to turn it on

Choose the Delta Lineax 562T-CZ-DST if you want every option. Delta lists (deltafaucet.com) Touch2O with Touchless technology, so it runs when you place your hands near it, touch anywhere on the spout or handle, or use the handle. Delta lists a two-minute automatic shut-off, a TempSense LED that changes color with temperature, battery life of about one year on AA or three years on C batteries at 20 minutes of use a day, an optional EP102157 AC adapter, 1- or 3-hole 4-inch installation with an included base plate, and a matching push pop-up drain.

CZ is Delta’s Champagne Bronze. On October 15, 2026, the standard new offer sold by Amazon.com showed limited stock with part 562T-CZ-DST.

Moen M-Power 8559: commercial sensor faucet

Choose the Moen M-Power 8559 for a hands-free, handle-free faucet. Moen lists (maker page: assets.moen.com/shared/docs/product-specifications/8559sp.pdf) a one-piece cast brass sensor faucet for one hole at least 1-1/8 inches across, an adjustable sensor range from 3 to 12 inches, a 30-second vandal time-out, a cleaning mode, an optional metering mode, 4 AA batteries with AC compatibility, a low-battery light, an in-line filter, and 0.5 gpm vandal-resistant laminar flow. Moen states battery life of up to eight years under its test conditions.

It has no handle, so plan how the water temperature will be set before you install it. On October 15, 2026, the standard new offer sold by Amazon.com showed stock with model 8559.

Batteries or plug-in power?

All three run on batteries and accept an optional AC adapter. Batteries are simple and work during a power outage; plan to replace them on the schedule the maker lists, such as Delta’s one-year AA or three-year C estimate. An AC adapter avoids battery changes but needs a receptacle under the sink, which bathrooms often lack.

Write the battery type and install date on a piece of tape inside the vanity door so the next change is easy. Keep spare batteries of the right type in the vanity, and note that the low-battery warning on the Moen M-Power is a light on the unit.

Will it fit your sink?

Moen includes an optional 3-hole plate with the Cia, Delta lists 1- or 3-hole 4-inch installation for the Lineax, and the Moen 8559 installs through a single hole. Our bathroom faucet guide explains centerset, widespread and single-hole layouts.

Touchless faucets also need room under the sink for the control box and battery pack. Check the space before you buy, especially in a small vanity or a pedestal sink.

Flow rate and sensor settings

The Moen Cia runs at 1.2 gpm, typical of a home bathroom faucet. The Moen M-Power 8559 runs at 0.5 gpm, a commercial lavatory flow that saves water but fills a sink slowly. Moen lets you adjust the M-Power’s sensor range and run time; Delta lets you switch the Lineax between touch-plus-touchless and touch-only modes.

A sensor can sometimes be triggered by a reflection or something left on the counter. If a faucet turns on by itself, adjust the range where the maker allows it and keep the area in front of the sensor clear.

Installation and service

Install the faucet and drain as usual, then mount the control box and battery pack under the sink where you can reach them. Moen lists Duralock quick connections on the Cia, Delta includes InnoFlex PEX supply lines on the Lineax, and Moen lists a flexible stainless supply line on the M-Power; our faucet installation guide covers the steps, and our supply stop guide helps if the shutoffs need replacing.

If the stream gets weak, clean the aerator and any in-line filter the maker includes; our aerator cleaning guide shows how. Electronic parts carry shorter warranties than the faucet body, so keep the paperwork.

Touchless in the kitchen

Water-saving and hygiene features differ. Delta lists a two-minute automatic shut-off on the Lineax so a forgotten faucet does not run on. Moen’s M-Power adds a 30-second vandal time-out, a cleaning mode that pauses the sensor for 30 seconds, and an optional Sentinel Flow setting that flushes the supply lines every 24 hours, which suits rarely used sinks. Touch-free use also keeps soapy hands off the handle.

Finish choices vary: Delta sells the Lineax in Champagne Bronze, chrome, matte black and stainless, and Moen offers the Cia in chrome, brushed nickel, brushed gold and matte black.

For kitchen sinks, touchless pull-down faucets work the same way with a larger sensor zone; our touchless kitchen faucet guide covers them.

Frequently asked questions

How are touchless bathroom faucets powered?

By batteries, with an optional AC adapter. Moen lists 6 AA for the Cia and 4 AA for the M-Power; Delta lists AA or C batteries for the Lineax.

How long do the batteries last?

Delta estimates about one year on AA or three years on C batteries at 20 minutes of use a day; Moen states up to eight years for the M-Power under its test conditions.

Can I still use a handle?

Yes on the Moen Cia and Delta Lineax. The Moen M-Power 8559 has no handle.

Do touchless faucets work during a power outage?

Battery-powered ones do, as long as the batteries are good. Models on an AC adapter depend on house power.

Why does my touchless faucet turn on by itself?

The sensor may be seeing a reflection or an object. Clear the area and adjust the sensor range if the maker allows it.

How we chose

This document-based guide makes no hands-on testing claim. We read Moen’s spec sheets for the Cia 6221EW and M-Power 8559 and Delta’s product page for the Lineax 562T-CZ-DST. Battery life figures are the makers’ own estimates. On October 15, 2026, all three linked standard new offers showed stock or limited stock. Read our selection method and about Plumbing Picks.
