Match a Kohler bathroom faucet to your sink: the Alteo K-45100-4 for a 4-inch centerset, the Alteo K-45102-4 for widespread sinks on 8 to 16-inch centers, or the Riff K-27400-4 for a single hole. Kohler lists 1.2 gpm, ceramic disc valves and an included drain on all three.

This guide covers Kohler bathroom sink faucets for the three common sink layouts.
Kohler bathroom faucets by sink layout
| Faucet | Layout (Kohler) | Drain included |
|---|---|---|
| Kohler Alteo K-45100-4 | Centerset, 4 in. centers | Metal pop-up, 1-1/4 in. tailpiece |
| Kohler Alteo K-45102-4 | Widespread, 8 to 16 in. centers | Metal pop-up, 1-1/4 in. tailpiece |
| Kohler Riff K-27400-4 | Single hole | Clicker drain with overflow |
Kohler lists all three at 1.2 gpm maximum at 60 psi with KOHLER ceramic disc valves, EPA WaterSense, and the KOHLER Faucet Lifetime Limited Warranty. The right one depends on your sink holes: a centerset sits over three holes 4 inches apart, a widespread spreads the handles 8 inches or more, and a single-handle faucet needs one hole.

Measuring your sink
Measure center to center between the outer holes. About 4 inches means a centerset like the Alteo K-45100-4. Kohler lists the widespread Alteo for 8 to 16-inch centers, which covers most widespread sinks. One hole means a single-handle faucet like the Riff; our single-hole faucet guide covers more options, including deck plates for covering extra holes.
Check the drain too. Both Alteo faucets include a metal pop-up with a 1-1/4-inch tailpiece, the standard bathroom size, and the Riff includes a clicker drain with overflow. If your sink has no overflow hole, check that the drain you use suits a sink without one.
Before you shop, take a photo of the sink holes from above and of the old faucet’s model number if you can find it under the sink. That makes it easy to compare layouts and to ask a store or Kohler support about fit.
Pop-up vs clicker drains
A pop-up drain uses a lift rod behind the faucet to open and close the stopper. A clicker drain has no rod: you press the stopper to close it and press again to open it. Kohler lists a metal pop-up on the Alteo models and a clicker drain on the Riff.
Clicker drains look cleaner but can collect hair under the cap; pop-ups are easy to adjust if the stopper stops sealing. Our pop-up drain guide covers both, and our stopper repair guide covers fixing one that will not hold water.
Ceramic disc valves and repairs
Kohler lists ceramic disc valves on all three faucets, and reversible quarter-turn washerless valves on the Alteo centerset. Ceramic discs do not use rubber washers that wear out the way older compression faucets did. If a Kohler faucet starts to drip, it can often be fixed by replacing the valve cartridge; Kohler sells genuine replacement parts matched to each model.
Keep the model number from the box or spec sheet with your home records; it makes ordering the right part much easier later.
Finish codes
Kohler identifies finishes by a code after the model number: CP is Polished Chrome, BN is Vibrant Brushed Nickel, SN is Vibrant Polished Nickel, BL is Matte Black and 2MB is Vibrant Brushed Moderne Brass. The Alteo comes in CP and BN, and the Riff in all five. Confirm the full model number and finish code before ordering, and match the towel bars and accessories in the same collection and code. Our brushed nickel, black and gold bathroom faucet guides cover those finishes across brands.
Which Kohler should you buy?
Start with the holes. If you are replacing a centerset faucet on a standard vanity, the Alteo K-45100-4 drops straight in. If your sink is widespread, the Alteo K-45102-4 matches the same style and its 8 to 16-inch range fits most layouts. If you have one hole, or you are replacing a vanity top and can choose, the Riff K-27400-4 gives the cleanest look and the widest finish choice.
For a matched bathroom, Kohler designs the Alteo faucets to coordinate with Alteo accessories and shower trim, so you can carry the same look through the room. If you want brushed nickel, choose the BN version of either Alteo; for black or brass, the Riff offers BL and 2MB.
Installing a Kohler bathroom faucet
Shut off both stops, disconnect the supplies and old drain, remove the old faucet and clean the deck. Kohler lists quick-connect fittings on the widespread Alteo and Riff, and preassembled handles on the widespread, which save time under the sink. Set the faucet, tighten it from below, connect the supplies, install the drain with the sealant Kohler calls for, then run water and check for drips.
Our faucet installation guide walks through each step, and our supply line guide covers replacements.
