Quick answer from a licensed plumber: For most homes, buy the Kingston Brass KS313C. Its two wall inlets adjust from 3-1/2 to 8-1/2 in. apart, Kingston rates it at 1.8 gpm, and its page lists a 10-year limited warranty on faucets. For a tall gooseneck over a utility or busy sink, the Moen M-Dura 8126. For one lever with a temperature limit stop, the Moen 8713. All three need supply pipes inside the wall, so plan the rough-in first.
Our pick for most homes: the Kingston Brass KS313C, a two-handle wall faucet with adjustable centers. Check the Kingston Brass KS313C on Amazon
A wall-mount kitchen faucet comes out of the wall above the sink instead of through holes in the sink or counter. It suits a farmhouse or utility sink, a sink with no faucet holes, or a counter you do not want to drill. It is a rough-in decision more than a shopping one, because the supply pipes go inside the wall at the spacing the faucet needs. This page is about faucets over a sink. A pot filler over the cooktop is a different fixture, covered in our pot filler faucet guide. Every spacing, reach and flow below comes from the maker’s own sheet or product page.

How to Choose a Wall-Mount Kitchen Faucet
Match the inlet centers to your stubs
The first number is the distance between the two pipes coming out of the wall, measured center to center. Moen’s two faucets are built around 8 in.: the 8126 adjusts from 7-5/8 to 8-3/8 in., and the 8713 from 7-1/2 to 8-1/2 in. The Kingston Brass KS313C adjusts from 3-1/2 to 8-1/2 in., the widest range here, which helps when you replace an old wall faucet on spacing you cannot change. If you are building new, 8 in. fits all three.
Thread type and depth from the wall
Moen lists 1/2 in. IPS connections on both of its faucets, and Kingston lists 1/2-14 NPT. Moen’s 8126 drawing puts the body’s center 4-1/2 in. out from the finished wall. Plumber’s note: the stub-outs and their fittings set where the faucet lands, so dry-fit the faucet on the stubs before the tile goes up, and use the drawing to set how far the fittings stand off the finished wall.
Spout height and reach over your sink
A wall faucet has to reach past the sink’s back rim and clear what you fill. Kingston puts the KS313C outlet 10-1/2 in. from the wall. Moen’s 8126 gooseneck rises 12 in. above the body with the outlet 8 in. from the spout’s center, and the 8713 comes with a 9 in. spout (12 in. on the 8714). Plumber’s note: measure from the wall to the center of the sink drain. A reach near that number puts the water in the middle of the bowl.
Shut-offs and freezing
A deck faucet has stop valves under the sink. A wall faucet does not, because its pipes are inside the wall. Plumber’s note: add shut-off valves you can reach on both branches, and keep the pipes out of an outside wall’s cold side. The same advice is on our pot filler page, for the same reason.
Flow
Kingston rates the KS313C at 1.8 gpm at 60 psi, and Moen limits the 8713’s aerator to 1.5 gpm. Moen’s 8126 sheet gives no flow rate, so read the marking on the aerator if your state or city limits kitchen faucet flow. Our kitchen faucet hole size guide covers deck faucets if the wall route turns out to be too much work.
Kingston Brass KS313C Two-Handle Wall Mount Kitchen Faucet
Two lever handles · wall mount, 2 holes · centers adjust from 3-1/2 to 8-1/2 in. (6 in. drawn) · 6-15/16 in. spout reach from the spout’s center, 10-1/2 in. from the wall · 1.8 gpm at 60 psi · drip-free ceramic disc cartridge · solid brass · 1/2-14 NPT connection · 2-3/4 in. wall flanges · eight finishes on the sheet · 10-year limited warranty on faucets (Kingston page)
The KS313C is the wall-mount kitchen faucet to buy for most homes, because it fits the widest range of supply spacing. Kingston lists the two wall inlets as adjustable from 3-1/2 to 8-1/2 in. apart. That covers the 8 in. spacing both Moen faucets here are built around, and much tighter spacing too. Kingston’s page puts the outlet 10-1/2 in. out from the wall, or 6-15/16 in. from the spout’s own center, and rates the flow at 1.8 gpm at 60 psi. Kingston lists solid brass construction, a drip-free ceramic disc cartridge and a 1/2-14 NPT connection.
Kingston’s drawing shows the outlet 2-1/4 in. above the center of the handles, and round flanges 2-3/4 in. across where the inlets meet the wall. The sheet covers eight finishes, from chrome (C) to matte black (MB). Kingston’s page lists a 10-year limited warranty on faucets. One listing error to know: the Amazon title says “6-Inch to 8-1/2-Inch Center,” while Kingston and the listing’s own bullet say 3-1/2 to 8-1/2 in. Go by Kingston. Kingston’s page also uses a different collection name than the Amazon title. The model number, KS313C, matches.
- Widest center range here: 3-1/2 to 8-1/2 in., per Kingston
- 1.8 gpm, the highest flow listed here (Moen lists none for the 8126)
- Ceramic disc cartridge and solid brass, per Kingston
- 10-year limited warranty on faucets, per Kingston’s page
- Amazon title states the center range wrong
- Outlet only 2-1/4 in. above the handle centers
- No sprayer
- Warranty shorter than a lifetime faucet warranty
Verdict: The wall-mount kitchen faucet to buy for most homes, because its adjustable centers fit almost any pair of wall stubs.
Moen Commercial M-Dura 8126 Two-Handle Wall Mount Faucet
Two 4 in. wrist blade handles with hot and cold indicators · 8 in. centers, adjustable from 7-5/8 to 8-3/8 in. · gooseneck spout: 8 in. from the spout’s center to the outlet, 12 in. from the body’s center line to the top of the arc (Moen drawing) · body center 4-1/2 in. from the finished wall · 1/2 in. IPS inlets · ceramic 28 mm quarter-turn cartridges · chrome plated brass · vandal-resistant screws · 5-year warranty
The 8126 is Moen’s commercial wall faucet, built for hard use. Moen lists chrome plated brass, 4 in. wrist blade handles with hot and cold color indicators and vandal-resistant screws, and ceramic 28 mm cartridges that turn a quarter turn from off to on. The high gooseneck spout is the big difference from the Kingston. Moen’s drawing shows the spout rising 12 in. above the body’s center line to the top of its arc, with the outlet 8 in. from the spout’s center. The drawing does not give the outlet’s own height. Plumber’s note: that height is what you want where buckets and stockpots get filled.
For the rough-in, Moen’s drawing puts the inlets 8 in. apart, adjustable from 7-5/8 to 8-3/8 in. They are 1/2 in. IPS connections, with the body’s center 4-1/2 in. out from the finished wall. Moen’s sheet does not list a flow rate for the 8126, so check the aerator marking if your area limits flow. The warranty is 5 years against material or manufacturing defects. The sheet notes more than one version of the model; the one on page one is “For Models After 3/2011.”
- Gooseneck rises 12 in. above the body, per Moen’s drawing
- Quarter-turn ceramic cartridges
- 4 in. wrist blade handles with hot and cold indicators
- Chrome plated brass with vandal-resistant screws, per Moen
- Moen’s sheet lists no flow rate
- Narrow center range: 7-5/8 to 8-3/8 in.
- 5-year warranty, not lifetime
- Commercial look
Verdict: The pick for a utility, laundry or hard-working kitchen sink on 8 in. wall stubs where a tall spout matters.
Moen Commercial 8713 Single-Handle Wall Mount Kitchen Faucet
One lever handle, pull-on/push-off, with hot and cold indicators · 9 in. spout (8714: 12 in.) · 8 in. centers, adjustable from 7-1/2 to 8-1/2 in. · 1/2 in. vertical adjustment · 1.5 gpm aerator · 1255 Duralast cartridge with an adjustable temperature limit stop · chrome plated cast brass · 1/2 in. IPS · vandal-resistant screws · 5-year warranty (Moen sheet)
The 8713 is the wall faucet for one-handed use. Moen lists a pull-on, push-off lever that sets temperature over a 110 degree arc, and the familiar 1255 Duralast cartridge. That cartridge comes with an all-brass adjustable temperature limit stop, which lets you cap how hot the water gets. The spout is 9 in.; Moen’s twin, the 8714, has a 12 in. spout. The aerator limits flow to 1.5 gpm.
For fit, Moen’s drawing puts the inlets 8 in. apart, adjustable from 7-1/2 to 8-1/2 in., and gives 1/2 in. of vertical adjustment, so the two stubs do not have to be perfectly level. The connections are 1/2 in. IPS. One conflict to know: Moen’s sheet (Rev. 12/12) says it is “Warranted for 5 years against material or manufacturing defects,” while the Amazon listing says Moen’s Limited Lifetime Warranty. Go by Moen’s sheet and plan on 5 years.
- One lever with an adjustable temperature limit stop, per Moen
- 1255 cartridge is a common Moen part
- 1/2 in. of vertical adjustment for uneven stubs
- Chrome plated cast brass, per Moen
- 5-year warranty on Moen’s sheet; the listing says lifetime
- Low 9 in. spout; the 12 in. 8714 is a separate model
- 1.5 gpm, the lowest flow listed here (Moen lists none for the 8126)
- Commercial look
Verdict: The pick for a single-lever wall faucet on 8 in. stubs, with a limit stop you can set.

Before You Buy
- Decide if the wall can be opened. Every faucet here needs two supply pipes inside the wall.
- Measure the stub spacing. Measure center to center between the two pipes, or plan new ones at 8 in.
- Measure the reach. Measure from the wall to the center of the drain, and compare it with the spout.
- Check the thread. Moen lists 1/2 in. IPS and Kingston 1/2-14 NPT; match the stub fittings.
- Plan the shut-offs. Decide where the two shut-off valves will go before the wall is closed.
Installing a Wall-Mount Kitchen Faucet
Plumber’s note: this is rough-in work. Open the wall, run hot and cold branches to the faucet location, and anchor the stub fittings to blocking between the studs so the faucet cannot move when someone leans on it. Set the spacing from the maker’s drawing: 8 in. for the Moen faucets, or anywhere from 3-1/2 to 8-1/2 in. for the Kingston. Pressure-test the lines, close the wall, then thread the faucet onto the stubs with thread sealant and square it to the sink. Turn the water on slowly and check both inlets for drips. If you are not comfortable opening the wall or soldering, this is the point to call a plumber. For a standard deck faucet instead, see how to install a faucet.
FAQ
What is the standard spacing for a wall-mount kitchen faucet?
Most are built around 8 in. between the two wall inlets. Moen’s 8126 adjusts from 7-5/8 to 8-3/8 in., and the 8713 from 7-1/2 to 8-1/2 in. The Kingston Brass KS313C adjusts from 3-1/2 to 8-1/2 in., so it also fits tighter, older spacing. Measure center to center between your two stubs before you buy.
Is a wall-mount kitchen faucet the same as a pot filler?
No. A wall-mount kitchen faucet sits over a sink and runs hot and cold through two wall inlets. A pot filler is a folding arm over the cooktop, usually on a cold line only. For that, see our pot filler faucet guide.
Can I put a wall-mount faucet on my existing sink?
Only if you can open the wall behind it. The supply pipes have to come out of the wall at the right spacing and height, which means opening the wall and running two new stubs. Plumber’s note: if your sink sits on an outside wall, keep the supply pipes on the warm side of the insulation so they cannot freeze.
Where do you shut off a wall-mount faucet?
There is no shut-off valve under the sink as there is with a deck faucet, because the pipes run inside the wall. Plumber’s note: put shut-off valves on the two branches where you can reach them, such as in the basement, a crawl space or an access panel, so a cartridge change does not mean shutting off the whole house.
How high should a wall-mount kitchen faucet be?
None of the three maker sheets here gives a rough-in height. Plumber’s note: work it out from the drawing. The outlet has to clear the sink rim and anything you fill. Kingston draws its outlet 2-1/4 in. above the handle centers, with the wall flanges 1-3/16 in. below the handle centers at the drawn 6 in. spacing. Moen’s 8126 spout rises 12 in. above its body center to the top of the arc, and Moen does not dimension the outlet height. Set the stubs high enough that the outlet clears your tallest pot.
